Great Grandpa Joe loved this song! I only remember him after he had retired 20 years thence from the grueling Van Leer coal mines of the 1950's. He spent his last few years listening to wonderful Country like this. He was not bitter that he had black lung. He was thankful to have lived with a family of 7 children, 24 grandchildren, and 55 great grand children, so many of whom surrounded him as the angels came on that last day and the Kentucky Waltz was the last music played for him.
i have always liked this song im really happy to find it a gain wish i could remember who the original singer was anyone know ?although i think this guy does it really well

Thank you. My Dad played this on the fiddle at old time country dances in the 20s and 30s. It's good to know that someone is keeping this type of great stuff alive.
Good job guys! I liked the rhythm. This is a song that I will learn to play on the fiddle this year. Would love to have a band around me like you've got.
The really neat thing is this group plays the song with all the old time rhythm, chord changes and runs you'd expect to find in the hills of Kentucky of Tennessee. I absolutely love it..
Not exactly Bill Monroe, but nicely done. It's great to see a music that has influenced so many over the years being done by a fine group of musicians from Japan. Great job guys and "keep a pickin".
Wow! Amazing to see a Japanese band play bluegrass mountain music this good! What a shock. Makes this Latin decent man think he may have a chance to be able to play his favorite music. I was made to feel bad for liking this music when I was a kid. My father hated it and I was discouraged. Seeing makes me think there is still hope for me to pick a banjo and learn how to play.
