I never route against the sisters (particularly Venus as she's my fave of all time), but I really thought Chanda and Anna were going to win here...

I loved Anna and her game....I guess it's sentimental because she never won a singles title...but she certainly had talent to win a slam or 2

It just surprises me that Anna never managed to win a singles title. She had so much talent and would win against many of today's players with her level of skill. She also had deceptive power and could serve huge. I always thought she was so overrated, but she was a very good player just ran into better players like the Williams', Hingis, Davenport. Bad luck.

@hiu1787 yes, but many players didn't win titles until their mid 20s. Anna stopped playing on the tour at 21 i think still so young. a real shame

@JTennisVideos I think it had to do with burning out, starting so young. This is something that happens to alot of tennis players. Venus turned pro at 14, Serena did a year later. Yet, at 31 and 30 still play competitively. People give Richard Williams alot of flack for the things he says and does, but he had a winning formula. That is the reason they are still around (even if they are fading - Venus moreso) and why their contemporaries like Hingis and Kournikova herself are not.

i remember watching this match! watching this now reminds me of how talented anna kournikova was. in a different time, different era, and if she had fulfilled her potential, she could have been a great great player....

You can see here why Nick Bollettieri said that Kournikova is still to this date the most natural talent he has ever seen....unfortunately you need more than natural talent to be a champion....but she was SO GOOD despite not winning big in singles

such a great upload. kournikova's volleys are one of the best..so precise and light and effortless..i hate when some of the jealous people made her look like she is a talentless tennis hoe....i doubt they have even watch one complete match by her and just based on the fact that she hasn't made it win a major

2002 was the year Venus and Serena were at Max level in their game. They KILLED just about everyone that year. Venus lost to Seles at the Aussie but after that...they steamrolled their competition...man those were the good ole days. I use to LOVE to see both of them dominate and have a slight cockyness with it. They are still the best when they are playing well ;)

why did Rubin serve in the first game of the second set? She served at the end of the first set tiebreak. Shouldn't it have been Williams serve at the start of the second set?

@itsjonkuo team williams started serving in the tiebreaker. so its either rubins or kournikova turn to serve in the next game. that choice is up to them.
