  • 1500 miles? scooter can run more than that?

  • wish she choke me with that beautiful rubber gloves

  • Good video. Thanks for the lesson! I bought my 2008 Cadenza in late 2009 and am donating it to Operation Gratitude" today. So it lasted pretty good for 2 years but I'm not a good mommy to it. :(

Although I did put a lot of miles on it in that time. Riding around Los Angeles is kinda hard on them. Especially if you take them on the freeway.

Do you still have yours to this day?

  • nice style !

  • this thing is actaully pretty nice is there anyway that you guys deliver to canada?

  • btw do you know anything about chinease scooters i'm trying to get a keeway I'm a moped nub but i know all the knowledge about trucks as much as i need to know

  • i herd HHHHHH socket rench as if she was going to say hand wrench

  • Whoa, deeeeeeeeeecent.

  • This was great and she was an amazing host. Approve.

  • Does anyone have a video i can see on how to change the oil on my yamaha 1985 180 cc riva

  • can someone contact me i am trying to change the gear oil on my 2009 vip scooter and it looks different than this one,i think this will solve the problem with my rpm's going way to high, gear slippage i believe

  • thank you very much this helped me allot!! :)

  • You shouldn't put anymore than 800cc of oil in the scoot, NOT 1 quart. She just overfilled her engine with oil, which could cause problems.

  • Just squeez in the gear oil until it starts coming back out

  • You said to put about a qt of engine oil in, but how much gear oil do you squeeze in? Thanks.

  • why are you changing the oil if your changing the engine? 0:38

  • @ahs2015 she ment change gear and engine oil

  • What was the amount of gear oil used?

  • excellent video! thanks

  • One question, my scooter plate where the vin# and tire pressure details are says that the oil should be sae 40, But the owner manual says 15w50 fully synthetic as well ... Any ideas which is right ?

  • So thanks for the video, I just changed my oil and decided to watch you video for the how to change the gear oil... Watching your video made me realize that I installed the engine oil filter spring backwards ! Lol good thing I only took it from a short test drive....

  • You are so Cool!

  • You are sooo Cool!

  • im anoob on scooters. what does new gear oil do for the scooter?

  • @volcomunoz It lubes the gears. Everything that has a transmission needs gear oil. Cars, motorcycles, mopeds, etc.

  • thanks for this post. Due to your video I managed to work out the order of the filter spring and nut to get the oil cap back on!! I spent 30 minutes with the filter in the wrong spot!! Thanks heaps

  • Gear Oil??? I thought these Chinese bikes were all chain drive within the case? Or is chain oil called "gear oil" in this case?

  • @Umaxen they have drive belt not chain! i have chinese scooter and he has engine and gear oil :) . Engine oil must be changed by the service time, and gear oil is not that important...

  • Ofcource she's chinese. Ofcource.

  • Thank you Miss! I`m going to change my oil right now then I`ll be right over! I am in L.A. to... Are you married? Also how often are we supposed to change the gear oil? (I know the recondemnations for the mileage to change the enginge oil...) Thanks again, Don

  • @Ezlaguy I'm in Nor Cal now, thank you for the kind words!

  • Awesome video! =)

How do I know a quality oil from a second rate brand oil? I use a 4-cycle oil, but I can't tell which is better beyond price . . .

Also about changing gear oil - my cheap chinese scooter manual says not to change the gear oil until after 1000km . . . does that sound reasonable?

  • @palmisano Hi, it won't hurt to change it earlier!

  • @palmisano 1000 km is also when you should do your first engine oil change so do them both at the same time.

  • HI GOOD VIDEO TKS,I HAVE A VESPA ET2 AND I DRIVE THE SCOOTER IS NOT DEVELOP AND AFTER 50M IS CUT OFF WHAT YOU THING IF YOU CAN HELP MANY TKS X.X.X.....

  • Respond to this video...

  • is 10w-40 oil alright to use on a 150cc?

  • @majorsideeffects Yes, if it's full synthetic. The best is 4 stroke, SAE 5W/40, API SL, ACEA A3, JASO MA full synthetic. Both the hub and engine require full synthetic oil. The hub oil should be 80W/90 that exceeds APE GL3. It will be called Gear oil or Hub oil and comes in a tube with an applicator like in the video. Many scooters like Vespa have hub oil dipstick and of course an engine oil dipstick and so you just fill those through the dipstick holes which is much easier than in this video.

  • Thanks!!

  • Please post videos on Valve Clearance and Cam Chain adjustment! So far this has helped me alot, also saving me some $! thank you! also, i have a 2009 Cadenza, and i was wondering where i could get the ignition/killswitch/right view mirror casing. mine moves every time i use the throttle, and the thread paths are stripped. Any clues?

  • I had a hell of a time screwing the plug back in for some reason.

BTW, anyone else think she's cute?

  • @MGDevo shes hot

  • @evaristomaster thanks, I plan to post more on my own website soon! You guys inspired me to practice and not be shy! this is mindy (dot) com.

  • HI Mandy Lee , I really appreciate your help, it was so nice, I will like that you make other videos, . This one likes me a lot!!! me encantas amor eres genial!!! Im your fan number one!!,(actually, I have the same scooter that u have, the phoenix 150 cc) all you make a good team there in the flyscooters..... thanks so much again !!! • Av got a 50cc Kymco agility scooter his may sound daft but do i mix oil with unleaded petrol before it goes in ol tank

  • Thanks so much for this awesomely helpful video! I'm such a beginner with these things. I was honestly so grateful for having found this! :)

  • I want to buy a 2004 silver wing with 3000 miles on it. It has NOT been started in 24 months. What procedures should I take before I initially crank it up as not to harm the engine? Thanks. JJ

  • this is a very good video and economy for every every one we hearty thankful to u.

  • Love it!

  • Thank you so much :)

    that was quite informative!!

  • ahh, great video, so easy to change the oil. Thanks.

    Very pretty instructor too!

  • My dad says this was very helpful for him, thanks.

  • Oil Change is so important for scooters - i blew a scooter engine because of too much oil....

  • Very useful. I really want to learn how to take care of my scooter. Also, the instructor is pretty cute to boot. :)

  • @KevRocky thanks KevRocky. Take care of your scooter and it will take care of you!

  • gret help

  • my scooter is not honda, can i still use that kind of oil?

  • @mosquitoebites

If you got a 2 stroke get the 2 stroke oil. If you got a 4 stroke just get 10W40 motorcycle oil at auto zone. It's about $3.99. For gear oil on a 4 stroke use 75W90.

  • thank you for making this clear! Now i have confidence to change my oil tonight.... and it's been like a 1000 miles so i am lucky nothing bad happened.

  • Very helpful thanx.

  • That's a lot of oil on the newspaper there at 4:16. Next time maybe bring a funnel! :-)

  • That was funny, "little shard of engine"

  • Well presented I would trust you working on my bike.

  • tnx

  • i love working on my Shenke engine! it is similar to your honda i'm sure. they are both gy6. the only problem is that i looked every where for gl3 tranny gear oil i can only find gl4-gl5 i notice that you are using gl4-gl5 gear oil so it might be ok

  • Thank you, This was very helpful.

  • Could someone tell what scooter this is (Brand, model etc.)

  • Flyscooters Cadenza 2008

  • WOW !!

This is such a complicated process. I'm gonna have to take a break after I get the drain plug out. How can ANYbody ever learn to do all this stuff?

  • Mindy is great, she helped me out a lot with my scooter issue. Thanks for being patient with me Mindy!

  • good ...thanks a lot. it is very helpful

  • shes the sweetest looking girl ive seen for a long time...very nice!

  • @monkeyboy27476 you make me blush!

  • Ya, so the scooter places around me want to charge 55 bucks for an oil change. Thanks for the video. I'm going to go give it a shot!!

  • Thanks for this video.

  • Thanks! This was a great help. I have a CPI scooter and - since no one seems to have ever heard of these bikes - I'm trying to figure out how to maintain it myself.

  • Thank you! I wanted to know how to do this for a long time.

  • whats up with the white gloves

  • Wow! Thanks for your expertise and very skillful explanation. You did a great job.

  • thanks, that helped a lot, i was gonna py like 40 dollars t oget mine fixed, but thought it was too expensive. Thanks :)

  • It is due for another oil change. Typically depending on how you ride, you can either do a change 1000 to 1500 miles. Of course we recommend more frequent.

  • Thanks. If I do the oil change that would void the warranty, correct? Please confirm.

    Thanks,

  • Why the fuck would it void the warranty. Your spossed to change oil in any engine every so often. Like after 3000 miles in your car.

  • Well, these are the questions you should ask before regretting doing something you should not. I think is a valid question.

  • I normally mix in a 1:10 ratio of ranch dressing with my scooter oil changes. It's really cut down on engine wear significantly over the years.

  • ranch dressing? like the stuff you put on salads?

  • @nkx1 Catalina is best if you REALLY want to extend your engine life.

  • Hi Mindy,

how many miles between oil changes for the cadenza? Dealer did the 1st at 250 miles. It has about a 1000 miles now.

    Thanks, for your help.

  • Thanks!!!! I just got a scooter and this has been very useful!!!!!

  • Is this relatively similar for all makes of scooters?

  • Excellent Video great explanation! Thank you!

  • OMG...she's so hot. I mean a woman mechanic. Too bad there aren't more women in this world like that. ha ha ha j/k.

  • @dpark76 thanks dpark76, I just learned to ride a motorcycle and overcome my fear of more power! I think we all need to push ourselves to have more adventures (safely of course) =)

  • i put the spring with the small part in the filtre.... is wrong?

  • That is wrong.

With the cover for draining the engine in hand, place the spring (larger end) within it, then place the filter inside the smaller end so it sits (like a cup). Then insert into engine. Hope that helps!

  • very helpful for first time scooter owner like me!! thanks!

  • cool... nice to inform people on the how to. but BULLSHIT to u must use honda engine and gear oil.

  • awesome. thank you very much.

  • This video saved me the trouble and hassle of finding a shop that works on scooters, down time, scheduling ect. It took me all of about 20min to have my motor and gear oil changed. 5 stars for this specific instructions regarding scooter maintenance. Thank You.

  • I'm so glad! That's why I made it, cuz I was quoted $150/hr to have the oil changed at a motorcycle shop! However- please be advised that Flyscooters suggests those under warranty to have their scooters serviced by their dealers.

  • FYI If you do it correctly, and on time then yes we Flyscooters will treat it as good for warranty. But you have to check if there

are any leaks, etc during the oil change. It is your obligation to

either fix it or get an authorized dealer to fix it. If the dealer does

find evidence of an incorrect oil change or negligence on the part of the customer, that

is grounds for voiding the warranty.

  • Hey Mindy!

I met you today (Jon, the guy with the dreadlocks), and I can't WAIT to buy my scooter from you guys on Monday!

  • You are amazing! Thank you. I am gonna change some oil tomorrow.

  • good video, shes cute too!

... Awesome vid by the way!

  • 4-stroke engine !!!

  • DIPSTICK HAHAHAHA!

  • girls and engines i love it... mrp are you paying attention. lol

  • nicely done

    Thanks

  • WAIT!!! How much oil do you use???? 20-220z?? I gotta know!

    Danny

  • about 3/4 of a quart.

    Leon

  • @simplydannygirl depends on your particular scooter. Make sure it's the right amount, too much oil is just as bad as too little.

  • thank youuuu lady . that was very helpful :)

  • I take it the oil pouring didn't go to well..

  • LOL. I noticed the absence of that as well. Given she was trying to pour without a funnel (and even said so), that oil probably went everywhere.

  • some did go out, but very little since we had plenty time to pour. Because it took a while, we did edited the clip out. I would definitely recommend a funnel to pour faster without spilling oil.

  • just performed my first oil change on my cadenza. this video made it a snap. thanks Mindy!

  • good job! it's very important. how's it riding?

  • Something awesome about using a girl in the videos we have to try that.

  • Thanks much! This video was great! Just started riding and now I have one less thing to worry about paying for, cause I can definitely do it myself! Thanks again! :)

  • Awesome video! Where can i find torque settings for all those bolts? Anyone know of good forums for the 2006 Piaggio Fly 150?

I also did an oil change video, but its for the 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 250. In my profile.

  • Hey Rob, Try the scootdawg forum. People there seems to know everything...

  • Thanks Daniel! Good to know that you are putting some serious miles on that scooter.

  • tons of miles and I seriously get asked about it all the time-like I said...the shiznit

  • Hey Daniel, did you get the luggage box? If so please give me a call at 626 59 4201.

    Thanks,

    Leon

  • Finally! Someone who knows how to teach!

By the way, how do we do it with a Peugeot Speedfight and a Piaggio NRG?

    Thanks!

  • Sorry Norbanvs, can't help you with those scooters. We are only versed in our scooters. The process is the same. You just have to find out where the oil drain plug is located, and where to fill the oil.

  • Well, is better than nothing. lolol.

    Thanks flyscooters.

  • Wow, a girl who does her own oil and gear change. That's rare. Good job.
