Lots of people have said the camera is too close in this footage. The cameraman shot close and long so they could make a news story. I have posted the full unedited footage of both.
There is a longshot and close shot of Masters Ma and Wu demonstrating the form taken on the same day on this chanel. Both videos are easy to find. You are lucky to get the close up to see the detail and subtle movements and the long shot to show the whole body and form.
I've never seen Sifu Ma fight, but I'd bet he was very good at it. My reason here is that his skills are evident in his form; where his movements are perfect; his energy is flowing and full; and his mind is focused and fresh.
However, I have seen one of his grand-students, Sifu Robert Rudniak apply these traits in free sparring. And I think he showed real Tai Chi chuan skills because his movements flowed like water, and were both stable, and elegant.
Hi and thanks for the comment.
Yes the style shown here is 'elegant' Tai Chi
My teacher is Shi Mei Lin, who is their adopted daughter.

Yearh, totoally agree, We have seen both.
We never see such elegant styles any more, even from their apprentices.
Hi, Blueplannes, mind if you let us know who your teacher is?

What good is it if you don't show his whole body throughout the film?

What a idiot camera man, a master is demostrating a form and he only shoot his face. What a waste.

Fantastic to see two renowned masters in action - thanks for posting this.
If only the cinematographer had stood further away, so we could see the whole body of the demonstator...
