this is my take on why guns n roses broke up (based on research and rreading slashs side in his book)

basically what happened was Axl rose tried to run the band, which made it not fun for slash anymore. Axl actually went to far as to actually purchase the rights to the name "Guns N Roses", (hense why there is a still a GNR touring, but to the faithful its know as GNR 2006 since of course its not the real GNR), Axl then tried to take full control of the band which of course in turn pissed

Have you noticed how Slash is almost always referred to as the former Guns N' Roses guitarist as opposed to the current Velvet Revolver guitarist? It'd be great if him and Axl Rose could put aside their differences and made great Rock N' Roll music again. It seems that the predominant genres today are sugary teen pop or gangsta rap.
