God Spielberg is such a GENIUS. By FAR my favorite director. I have LOVED his films since I was like 2 years old (ET baby), and loved the Jurassic Park & MIB films even more. If you haven't already do yourself a favor; go check out the list of what he's done; & try and act like he hasn't impacted your life. I didn't even realize how much he's done until I looked at his Wikipedia profile.

This is awesome movie! and reason for that is not that there's some famous actors like Tom Cruise but because the story is just so great. I don't like some Tom Cruise movies at all because he usually acts in some random movies which doesn't make sense but Minority Report is just awesome and the idea for this movie comes from book "The world Jones made - Philip K.Dick" so it's not just some ordinary Hollywood crap, even when this is probably made in Hollywood :/

@isokessu The World Jones Made, is a different story. The film is actually based on PKD's short story, The Minority Report. Philip K.Dick is a brilliant writer, and any of his books, done well, are a refreshing change from the pulp that comes out of the hype driven world of Hollywood.

The hero tearing down the system is not unexpected to me. The original version where Anderton kills General Kaplan, who wants to reinstate a powerful military and to eliminate the precrime system, is more interesting because In my eyes Anderton’s motivation is understandable but not necessarily the morally “better” standpoint. That’s my totally chilled standpoint.

@CAZPERsayz: Unfortunately there isn’t much left of PKD’s story. Less CG gimmicks and a mature story without one of those shitty happy endings (unlike any PKD story or book) would have served this film better. The original story is modern enough, pure technical gimmicks aside, and Dicks depiction of the police force and society is more realistic. The movie is just “The Fugitive” in the future.

The unexpected decision near the end of the original story is much more interesting and understandable.

When I name movies that were good for their time and still good today, I name films like Metropolis. That came out over 80 years ago and it is STILL one of the very best films ever made. I hope that Minority Report will last 80 years, but you never know. The fact that it's a Spielberg movie will give it a long life though.

This movie rocked like a Sci-Fi SERMON!!! It was a lesson in temporal ethics! At first seeing the trailer I thought it was ACTUAL time travel! I even thought of a hilarious spoof called "Sorority Report" where normal guys got tired of the gym rat frat boys getting cutesy college girls the split second after they break up with a guy, so the normal guys invent a system to ask her out BEFORE the break up!
