I find it gay and cute. Just stop thinking of gay as something evil. There´s a lot of heterosexual scenes in the movie too, or course, but nobody would have a problem with the statement, that little Bambi is in love with Feline. It´s all innocent for sure, the straight parts such as the gay parts. Though I actually doubt, that Disney had a gay plot in mind.
