Yes Geithner should have never been hired. He was the president of the New York federal reserve branch. Listen to these guys and they will tell you how the federal reserve is "independent" and the U.S. Treasury is beholden to the fed in the amount of $12 trillion national debt. That Geithner came from the fed to occupy the office of sec. of the treasury screams conflict of interest not only to him personally, but also to taxpayers.
Not even close to all of the 12 trillion in debt it owned by the Fed. The Fed owns about 300 billion (maybe a little more) of T securities, but not even close to the total. The Treasury is not beholden to the Fed, they are totally different things.

All TARP loans made to major banks have been paid back. And since the USG invested TARP through preferred share offerings, the treasury has recieved a sizable dividend in addition to the share buyback-- hence, they made a profit. USG still owns a common stake in Citigroup, however, it has plans to sell it for what will probably be a %20 profit in 2010.
Whether or not bankers deserved the bailout, TARP is clearly being executed with sucess

Listen to these guys and they will tell you how the federal reserve is "independent" and the U.S. Treasury is beholden to the fed in the amount of $12 trillion national debt. That Geithner came from the fed to occupy the office of sec. of the treasury screams conflict of interest not only to him personally, but also to taxpayers.

Not even close to all of the 12 trillion in debt it owned by the Fed. The Fed owns about 300 billion (maybe a little more) of T securities, but not even close to the total. The Treasury is not beholden to the Fed, they are totally different things.

IDK about that, what I do know is that every $ printed by the fed is a debt note to be paid back with interest by treasury. This is the tie that binds them. And Geithner's appointment as Sec. of the treasury is a HUGE conflict of interest.

I think I realized what you are talking about. It has to do with a rule Congress passed in relation to the Fed. The Fed has to hold collateral, in the form of gold certificates and T securities, equal to the value of the money in circulation. So in a sense, each dollar has a corresponding value of T bills behind it, which the Fed acquires in the open market. But Treasury owes the Fed nothing more than it does any other holder of a T bill.

Not necessarily. Thats only true if the Fed buys T bills through open market operations, and even then its unimportant. The Fed is not the only thing that owns T securities. Also, a crucial fact I forgot the point out earlier: Any profit the Federal Reserve makes at the end of the year is turned over to the... Treasury Department. So unlike anyone else, the Fed does not get to keep the money it makes on the interest of the T bills Congress require that it holds.

I stated that the PTB - the "men behind the curtain" who run this effing game - are the ones who hired the squad of goons we see on the surface (Fed, Govt, politics, judges, etc). I'm suggesting that many of these "key goons" are plants... and many, ironically, have Jewish last names (which, by the way, doesn't necessarily mean jack SH!T - see: secular Jews). While there is certainly some diabolic collusion at the top, that power structure is anything but a "Jewish" one (or even Jew-friendly). I tend to think it all leads back to Anglo-Teutonic imperialism... Regardless, I feel it in my bones that the truth will prevail soon.

We need a New Party a Third Party. One that has NO Ties from deals long forgotten. Out economy our country our livelihood depends on tough decisions and none can be made with either Dem OR Rep attempting to impose there bias. We need a re-start so we can move forward.
