If Fleetwood Mac releases another album, , Stevie should dig this up, let Lindsey do a little tinkering and they should put it on....it would have a classic sound, and the song itself encapsulates everything leading up to now...their relationship, the craziness of the band's Heighday, etc. I think it would be great
this was actually recorded with stevies rock a little touring band during 1986. and it reminds me of robert palmers "addicted to love" just a little faster
Great song. Yes, Tango in the Night is a great album, but I believe adding this song to it would of made another top single from the album. Great stuff.
WHY couldn't FM used this song AND her other 3 Tango tunes? Oh, I forgot that SN is only entitled to 3 songs per album, whereas LB can have as many "solo" songs as he wants on FM records. BIG mistake as SN was/is BY FAR the most popular group member. I personally was sick of hearing 10 Lindsey songs on a record before Stevie's voice showed up. She wasn't even allowed to sing on his songs. Thankfully, Chris realized the were a BAND. Also, why did it take LB 5 years to make his 1st post Tango LP?
@redletter2008in all fairness. Stevie was only in the studio for around about 2 weeks she says so on the doco made bout them cant remeber look it up on youtube. and Lindsey post Fleetwood album was pretty good. I love em all u know but TITN was orignally Lindsey solo album but turned into a Mac album so really he should have all the right to choose and create cos he gave up alot of his work
@22infection NO. Lindsey got a whole lot more than he "gave up" by doing a Fleetwood Mac album. First, nobody forced him to do a FM album. At least people actually heard his music with FM, as opposed to selling - what? 20,000 copies on his own. LB's lable advised him to do a FM album vs. a solo record. Also, Stevie was around for more than 2 weeks for Rumours/Tusk, yet she still had the fewest songs recorded. That argument doesn't fly. Lindsey is an album hog & FAR less successful on his own
It's a shame this song was never released as a single... I think it could have made it to the radio. It has a bit of a Robert Palmer vibe, and I think Tina Turner could have done the song justice as well!
This was recorded as a Stevie solo song and demoed for the Rock A Little album but it didn't make it. She gave it to Fleetwood Mac and then they considered it as the closer for the Tango album but ultimately chose another song. Whether she actually recorded it with Fleetwood Mac has not surfaced. On the flip side, she recorded Juliet for FM on the Tango album but they didn't use it and she then took it to her solo album Other Side of the Mirror.
It's a great song! But you're right, it isn't quite Tango in the Night... Stevie should've released it on one of her solo albums perhaps... unless it was like with Silver Springs, where Mick Fleetwood didn't want her to release it solo in the 90s, and instead put it on 25 Years - The Chain (although this, of course, never made The Chain).
Mick Fleetwood and the Mac chose Will I see You Again over this song. They wanted a Landslide kind of song and passed on this sont. Too bad cause I bet Lindsey could have tweeked this song to a great rocker.

Well, it's a bit, shall we say, unconventional for FM... but it sounds lots like a Stevie solo effort. In this respect I love it!

I LOVE THE 80s, so corny so funny so amazing...
I love this song, should be on a record somewhere!!!
When will the re-release their old albums with the demos, like they did with the white album, rumours and tusk.
I think this song really suits stevies voice in that period, rough, raw, crazy i love crazy stevie....
