This reminds me of when I played the demo for "Dante's Inferno" and you literally killed death itself (the Grim Reaper). Though it might just be an incarnation of death, it still feels like an immense disappointment. I mean, come on! It's the lord of DEATH here, and he/she/it is just a pushover?

But from a game perspective you can't throw the player into deep water by giving them a boss fight right at the start that would make them sweat. It works. Another thing you may consider, is that the players need bigger bosses bigger badasses bigger names bigger everything from time to time to deliver them to epicville.
