R&b and soul maybe simply because his voice is more appropriate for that genre. However, pop and rock clearly belong to Adam there is no question about that. You might want to consider that Adam was recently ranked as the #2 technical rock vocalist ever. That puts him ahead of Freddy Mercury.
I will agree that it is helpful 2 study music 2 sing well, for many. However that is not a pre requisite for a really entertaining musical experience.

We do not know if Adam was in the bottom 3, I think they said that for rating purposes, to make us go wild voting for Adam, I truly think the best contestants from idol have been: Clay Aiken, Bo Vice, Kimberly Locke, Kathirin McPhee, Taylor Hicks, Fantasia Barrino, and in this season Allison, Danny, Kris and Adam, but the greatest of all is ADAM LAMBERT.
I think this commentary was pure emotionaly driven. Adam has a rocker voice that is very tenor and tight. It is beautiful and stage actor-ish. In fact is is more like a 1970`s glam rock dream voice. By contrast you have Danny who has a thick, multi chorded voice that often is muddy. Yet he finds a way ot make the fuzzy muddy deep voice resonate. That is a blues and r&b dream voice.

If you've been paying attention, the judges have said a few performances were "screamed". Adam has a beautiful voice, but what the judges and some of the fans fail to realize is that he does it too. In almost every single one of his songs, he uses his vocal range to show off, which completely blinds the judges and the audience.

Mr fish, Adam really is a good singer, but you don't seem to really know what "chest voice" is. Adam uses his MIXED voice to hit the high notes. Mixed voice is a blend of chest and head voice. What he does is simply put less "chest" in his mixed voice as the notes gets higher, but still, it's not CHEST voice, it's almost all head voice with only a little chest. If one studies correctly, he can probably do it. However it's a very hard thing to do, and I guess it could take years to achieve it...
I should make this clear I do know that he mixes his voices however, and I have heard him do this he is cable of go up to a High E without mixing and to be serious it is extremely difficult do. most singer with years of training can only sing up to a D or an E were as he is able to sing all the way up to a G# or and A but but I understand what your are saying.

If you are emotionally crippled you might miss the fact that Danny is the superior pop, rock, soul, R & B or even Jazz singer.

IMHO, Adam got the message early on that being who he is genetically was not appropriate or accepted. He has learned to 'act' to cope. That makes him a natural talent for what he was doing pre idol. If he had a better range, he might even have been a great opera singer?... However, you cannot TRAIN someone to open their heart. you can't train someone to be totally accepting of who they are and comfortable with it. U can't train REAL..u can only pull it out of someone like David Foster can.

The only thing I don't like about Adam, though, is that he goes overboard with the high notes. I mean, yeah he's incredible at reaching those notes, but it's not necessary to be doing it every 10 seconds. It gets slightly boring after a while.
But I still want either him or Kris to win. Danny has to go..no offence to him, he's just not one of the best anymore.

I think this commentary was pure emotionaly driven. Adam has a rocker voice that is very tenor and tight. It is beautiful and stage actor-ish. In fact is is more like a 1970`s glam rock dream voice. By contrast you have Danny who has a thick, multi chorded voice that often is muddy. Yet he finds a way ot make the fuzzy muddy deep voice resonate. That is a blues and r&b dream voice.
Both have huge potential. Signiture voices. Good luck to both.

For me Danny is better. When Adam sings upbeat songs it's way too screechy. And not good for the ears. The only time I liked his upbeat performance was in black and white by MJ. If you've been paying attention, the judges have said a few performances were "screamed". Adam has a beautiful voice, but what the judges and some of the fans fail to realize is that he does it too. In almost every single one of his songs, he uses his vocal range to show off, which completely blinds the judges and the audience.
I think everyone needs to pull their panties out of their ass and stop complaining about Danny Gokey. He's wife died for God's sake. Give him a break and have a heart.

Mr fish, Adam really is a good singer, but you don't seem to really know what "chest voice" is. Adam uses his MIXED voice to hit the high notes. Mixed voice is a blend of chest and head voice. What he does is simply put less "chest" in his mixed voice as the notes gets higher, but still, it's not CHEST voice, it's almost all head voice with only a little chest. If one studies correctly, he can probably do it. However it's a very hard thing to do, and I guess it could take years to achieve it...

I should make this clear I do know that he mixes his voices however, and I have heard him do this he is cable of go up to a High E without mixing and to be serious it is extremely difficult do. most singer with years of training can only sing up to a D or an E were as he is able to sing all the way up to a G# or and A but but I understand what your are saying.

Dude shut up you don't know what your talking about. Adam is a good singer but he sings like a girl... he's a drama queen. His performances to me sound like something you hear at a drama play. Everyone I know loves Danny... everything about him is wonderful... so is Kris and so is Matt. We were sitting in class watching a recording of it and when Adam came on we got bored of it and fast forward through his performance. Insult me if you want but it doesn't bother me

I am not going to insult you but I will explain something. Adam has and unusual voice type call counter tenor its a high male voice. High like a girls but but it definety has a manly feel to it. And I am in musical theatre and all of this talk adout him sounding like he is in a "drama play" With the songs he has song he does not seem all that musical theatre like. he also has a great stage presence. Also if you fast forward though his song then you could not have had time to get bored.

Adam uses the stage like any good performer does. he moves he engags the audience which is more then can be said for some of the others. And he does connect with his song If you ever watch some of his none american idol stuff you can really see that or just listen to him sing "I just love you' By five for fighting its beautiful. Now you have every right to to your opinion SweetNicolette but I simply cannot understand what you think is boring about him there is that in him that could bore.

Adam is amazing for those who like rock and the amazing stuff he does. Danny on the other hand is great with a softer tone and not as hard rock. I personaly like adam but Danny's very good too

adam vioce has a better sound quality and is stronger with a much better range. His vioce is also more lyrical then Danny and adam sings every note were as Danny's vioce is more raspy and he doesn't exatly "sing" every note. but that just my opinion
