  • My dear Brit Cousing, thank you so so much for sharing your incredible and enjoyable talent with the rest of the world. Surely wish we were fortunate enough to get you over here in the U.S. to enjoy in person. Guys, like you, are truly a National Treasure. We, who have no musical talent, are blessed by you and those others who share. Many thanks, again, dear cousin. Ole Johnny B.

His solos of him rocking out are to die for! When I listen to his music, I can really feel every note and there aren’t too many artists I can say that about! Check him out!

  • Just met Gary Carpenter in my restaurant, and you sir ,do his steel guitars JUSTICE,thanks for sharing....

  • Now, I'm even more impressed. There's probably more Americans to learn from/Bounce Idea's off of, then in any other countrys (for the pedal steel). That means you'd probably have to pick a lot of it up on your own (or you have terrific clubs/groups out there). Awesome job again!

  • That's really nice. Such a great song too. Excellent job!

  • Your talent is unbelievable as I am a big country music nut as well. I have never heard anyone on a steele with so much clarity and precision to their playin. DD2 & RV2 does make your sound for sure. I might have to invest into a pair of them for my fiddle.

Got The Cajun fiddle dance in ya? ;) Try it

  • David Hartley, I stumbled onto your music by accident and I am grateful to you for sharing. I feel better about life than I did a few minutes ago--

    Brian from Minnetonka, Minnesota

  • Hi Dave. First of all I enjoy all your pedal steel videos. I'm a steeler too and wish I could do half the stuff you can! (I'd be a hero in this neck of the woods if I could). lol. Do you have any intentions of doing Gene Watson's Farewell Party on steel for us? It's a great song and I know you could take it one step better! No doubt about that. --- Jimmy Russell - Topsfield, Maine

  • Thanks Jimmy. I will see what I can do for you. I am very busy at the moment and look forward to setting up the steel at home and recording something, David Hartley

  • Dave, great picking. My uncle Gene Crossland, my musical mentor, played steel in the Bakersfield-Reno-Vegas circuit in the early 60's. I'm going to put him onto you.

  • David, not only did you pick a wonderful song to play, but you rendered it terrifically well.I keep it on favourites.

  • David, Don't post any more videos or there will be dozens of steels for sale on Ebay ( joking of course, keep em coming! ) this is how it should be done. Thanks for taking the time and effort to put up these excellent videos, wonderful playing and an inspiration to us all. Jim Martin
