Joe Satriani has spent alot of time honing these fancy scales - just learning patterns after patterns...he gets all this down and just switches around very fast - im not saying this is easy to do, its just less about music /

@corpsemunger kinda makes me laugh the way that you seem to know that Satriani, one of the best technical guitarists in history (both as a teacher and composer) has no musicality! This is a combination of skill, feel and technique... combined really nicely. Not only does this stuff have awesome guitar skills and melodic suprises, but it sells records and it gets arses on seats! If you don't like it mate... you know the answer!
