  • You have so many magpie's. (Wish i had that many on the farms i shoot over)

as always though, another great vid, keep up the good work mate.

  • @PlinkinPete Thank you.

  • yes if population of magpies explode you almost seen nomore song birds it last 3 years here but al birds are protected by lawe also if the doe harm to property, catel ,pets iam bound to pierc paper and cans . i hoppe that the come toe der senses an make it more open toe shoot vermin . your footage is a verry good exampel howe it cane bedone wit respectin nature en envirement . cant waite for nieuw footage of your nice hunts...greets daniel

  • @bruutes1980 Thank you very much for your nice comment.

  • Hello again David...I am just curious fella as to where all those magpies are coming from as your video footage shows around a dozen or more in the background some distance away.Judging by how many you have on your shoots and film on your vids it seems nobody else is controlling them around you.Its a good job people like us do else there would hardly be any songbirds around singing, just the chatter of magpies and i know which i prefer!!

  • @JODIMAR45 The cold weather that year was concentrating all the birds into a small area for food, plus this farm is near a town so there is a lot of jackdaws which no one bothers with. Most people here seem to be more interested in shooting game rather than pests.

  • @HuntersVermin I know what you mean regarding people prefering to shoot game birds rather than magpies, crows etc.It is just the same around here. The trouble is some of the game shoots around here don't rear any or not many game birds to put down. This as you can imagine along with predation from corvids, stoats, foxes etc buts a very big strain on wild game bird numbers.Anyway keep up the good work.Just for the record i have never shot a game bird in my life.I control crows, magpies mainly.

  • @JODIMAR45 Good for you, as i have always preferred the Challenge of shooting hooded crows and magpies to game birds for some reason.

  • @HuntersVermin You have it the nail on the head, the word is CHALLENGE.You and i have that in common we know it is a very big challenge to decoy or bring corvids in close enough to shoot with an airgun and i come across game birds on my shoots all the time that would be easy to shoot but they do no harm whatsoever and shooting them would be no challenge.Corvids naimly magpies, carrion crows in spring early summer inflict untold damage on other birds eggs and young.

  • @JODIMAR45 It is a challenge but around the likes of farm yards an air rifle is one of the best tools for the job.

  • @HuntersVermin You are absolutely right!

  • Magpie central you have got there, another great video. Please keep them coming.

  • @porkycrook Thank you i'l try.

  • hi there , at what distance do you zero your scope.

    Paul

  • @paul3775 The .22cal BSA super 10 i was using is usually zeroed at about 32 yards.

  • whats that weird sound when you were setting the chair up ?????????

  • @Riahsaurous99 Not sure it might have been the camcorder as it was very cold.

  • What do you do with the birds after you have shot them..?? i do the same with rats but i feed them to red kite,s and hawk,s..!!

  • which pellet rifle are you using

  • @SuperChrismccall I am using a BSA super 10 mk2 in .22cal.

  • What hunting pellets do you recommend for .177?

  • @beastlyepicness I haven't much hunting experience with .177 but most people go for a heavy pellet (10gr or so) to get as much knock down power as possible but it still shoots flatter than a .22cal.

  • you have good hunting skills i have only just started to master the standing shot like vids mate

  • @TheSleighbo Thanks, the standing shot is the hardest to master and takes lots of practice, well done.

  • You keep up the good work

Magpies I hate them there only good dead

  • @1966neilb Thanks i'l try.

  • what pellets do you tend to use most often for killing rabbits?

  • did you make the cradle the magpie is sat in yourself? or did you buy it? if you bought it where from? regards john

  • @almond1915 No i made it myself.

  • did you make the decoy if so, will you make a how to on that, thanks

  • @LRHolderbaum No i didn't make the decoy rather its a dead magpie set up to look like i live bird.

  • Nice job. Keep going.

    Regards from Croatia

  • @gusak1982 Thank you, glad you liked the vid.

  • have you ever tried doing a scope cam?

  • @CraziMEXICAN96 No as i don't have a lot of time to get on target and take the shot before the bird leaves and a scope cam takes time to line up for the shot has your head is not on the stock as normal to take the shot.

  • @HuntersVermin oh yea

  • What gun and pellets are you using?

  • @tazman01020304 I am using a BSA super 10 mk2 with .22cal Airarms field diabolo pellets.

  • Hey is there a pump for the BSA r10

  • @rcaragman Yes there are a few pumps on the market that will pump up any pcp powered air rifle with the right connections.

  • Ahh sounds great been out shooting much ?

  • @1995Mingo O a few rabbits here and there.

  • How u stop them going bad when hunting

  • @1995Mingo I keep them in an old fridge till i need them.

  • Nice shooting! Ive watched most of your videos and i was wondering how you get the dead bird "decoy" to stand up and have its head facing forward or down like its alive? Make more videos! Happy hunting!

  • @baseballwiffleball Thanks, its sitting a wee wire cradle that i made.

  • Makes sense so u just freeze them till u want them thanks for the help how do u keep the structure of the bird without it going flimsy

  • Hi that decoy is it a bought plastic one if its an previpusly killed onw how did u preserve it ? Many thanks, george

  • @1995Mingo Its a dead bird as they always make the best decoys. I keep some birds for this in an old fridge.

  • his accent is so cool

  • youd have had a lot more if youd set up your decoy in the right position.

did you zero your scope before shooting at them or just assume it would be accurate?

  • @baldycoup Yes the decoy would have been better set up a little to the left, but i always zero and practice with my gun to make sure it accurate a night or two before going hunting.

  • i shoot centre fires but tempted to buy a airrifle

  • @mjc211171 Air rifles are good for close range vermin control and are cheaper to practice shooting with.

  • i love bird hunting!!!<3

  • @SASmoonsfire I live in Northern Ireland but i believe you get magpies in north America too.

  • hunting in the snow.....you just cant beat that

  • This is hilarious!

  • What rifle wer u using?

  • @Ginganinja59 I was using a .22cal BSA super 10 Mk2.

  • can u please do a video on how u made that wire cradle

  • @TJ41238 If you look up AirGunTV you will see a video on it.

  • Some nice shooting there mate keep up the good work :)

  • @teapotbacon123 Thank you.

  • Sweet video, will magpies come up to a decoy in normal weather or just in the cold snaps? And why do they visit the decoy?

  • @smileymat123 Yes magpies will come to a decoy in any weather or time of year, as it is a strange bird in their Territory and they will want to chase it off.

  • Will a .22 kill a rabit

  • @wagglermaster301 Yes it will out to a range of 35-40 yards so long as you can shoot accurately enough to take a clean head shot and that the rifle is producing about 12 ft/lb of energy.

  • @wagglermaster301 a skilled .177 shooter can take bunnies. i only shoot .177 wish i had a cam 2 show

  • man you got great vids keep up the great work i subbed and thumbs up imma watch all your vids there all wonderful!!!

  • @rsvidsman Thanks for the nice comment.

  • @HuntersVermin dude no problem its hard not to like them only person that wouldnt would be a peta lover lol and i bet they cant help but watch a pro like you shoot!!

  • @rsvidsman Thanks again, but I can't understand way someone would watch something clearly marked air rifle hunting if they don't like that sort of thing.

  • @HuntersVermin i know why and its called there a vidiot!! l0l!

  • How do you get to shoot on so many diferent farms what do you say to the farmers.

  • do you need a licence for an air gun in the north. how do you get to shoot on so many diferent farms, what do you say to the farmers.

  • @MrMm247 Yes we need a licence for any air rifle in Northern Ireland, Well i go to a farm i can see has a vermin problem and nicely ask if i can shoot the vermin on their ground with my air rifle. And some times if i do a good job and are friendly with the farmer he recommends me to another farmer with a similar problem.

  • Your videos are the best on youtube im very impressed u earned a new subscriber and ill pass ur name around in some comments on other peoples videos.

  • holy hell thats alot of magpies. Where is this?

  • @Speeddemon5863 Its on a small farm that i have permission to shoot on here in Northern Ireland, Please try and not swear thank you.

  • @HuntersVermin k keep up the awesome shooting

  • @Speeddemon5863 Thank you, and i will try too.

  • another really good vid,and I have never seen so many maggie's in one tree at once at the 5.05min mark .Do you ever go rat hunting round the farm or are they not a problem round the farms you visit any way keep the vids comeing and best of luck on your next hunt !

  • @harleystud Hi ya, there is a pig farm that i would shoot a few rats on but they have got rid of a lot of stock so there my not be too many rats about any more. Glad you enjoyed the videos.

  • Man you need some more videos. They are great!

  • @ArkansasGameHunter Thanks, I should have another snowy one ready for up load this week.

  • Hi, do you use AA Field pellets? Thank you.

  • @bs4872 Yes i do in my .22cal BSA super 10.

  • Good shots vidio.Skolko obtained and at what rate?

  • @DIMAS967 Thanks, if its the fps you are asking about, its 629fps with a 15.9 grain .22cal pellet.

  • What caliber?

  • @DIMAS967 I am using a .22cal BSA super 10 pcp powered air rifle.

  • sweet shooting mate great vid as always

  • @carpercotty Thank you.

  • what do u clean your gun with?

  • @thelawnguys93 I usually just spray some gun oil onto a clean cloth and wipe the gun down with that after i've been out.

  • do they have the same size breast as a dove and do they taste good

  • @BiGGdaDDyL0Ve They would be about the same size as a dove, but i don't eat magpies, and if you,d see some of the things they eat you wouldn't want to eat them ether. They're the bin men of the bird world.

  • These videos are great, entertaining and they are teaching me so much. Keep it up mate.

  • @BigBadStu17 Thanks, i'l try. Glad you liked them.

  • awesome videos keep them coming

  • @jimmy99684 Thank you.

  • Excellent videos mate, please keep them coming. = )

So looks like you used your bsa superten in this vid, is it 12 ft/lb?

  • @jonezy125k Thanks, glad you've liked them. Yes i am using my BSA super 10 here but it is nearer 14ft/lb of energy.

  • Amazing accent haha

  • @paintballerrocks Thanks.

  • A great video, very informative.

  • @DigifilmShooter Thank you, glad you liked it.

  • excellent as usual!!

  • @barneyhughes Thanks.

    Atb

    Andy.

  • @andrewmcnulty0 Thanks, but it was really cold.

  • your welcome

  • love da vidios

  • @crossman86s Thanks.

  • Hey mate im from Australia in a small town of about 10 000 people, just thought ide let you know you have a dedicated viewer all they way from there... I have a spring air rifle and I recently purchased new pellets which helped with my accuracy but would you recommend a scope? Obviously an air rifle scope i think i will be getting a 3-9x40 nikko stirling mountmaster. Do you think this will help with my accuracy because im sick of missing the birds in my backyard? regards james

  • @skootlad Hi ya, and hallow from Northern Ireland. Yes a scope will help you shoot more accurately, and a 3-9x40 is a good all round size of scope too. Just make sure it is designed for a spring powered gun and that you use a good strong set of one peace mounts to attach it to the gun, so it doesn't get moved about with the recoil.

  • i love ur videos :D

  • @emokiddXhotemorage Thanks.

  • can you make a vid with a dasiy 880 plz because i just bought this and want to see if its a good gun

  • @420KushSmokin420 Sorry but i don't have a dasiy 880 to do a film with.

  • Hi,

Yes please, it would be great to see a video on mounting the camera. I bet there are a few people would like to see how you do it

    Paul

  • @amanshoe Yeah i need to sit down and do that some time, plus finish off some other projects, as soon as i get rid of this cold.

  • Hi,

Yet again another excellent vid. It is great that you show your mistakes as well as the precision kills. This is what makes the vids so interesting. The things that are happening to you happen to us all. Can I ask you what camera set up you are using to film. I,m sorry if you have answered this before but I haven't read all the comments on all the vids. Happy new year and keep the vids coming

    Paul

  • @amanshoe Hi ya, i use a JVC 330 camcorder which in this film i have mounted to the top of my scope via an upside down scope mount and a mount i made myself which screws to the camcorder. i do intend to make a film about it but haven't got round to it yet. Glad you enjoyed the video.

  • hey man, what pellets would you recommend for birds in general for a .22 nitro piston rifle? im getting the crosman titan for a begginer gun.

  • @jkira69 I always prefer round head pellets as they are usually the most accurate.

  • @HuntersVermin i love ur vids

  • @evanstubbins2010 Thank you.

  • @HuntersVermin no prob

  • How are things Dave? just came accross this clip, excellent as ever, ure having better luck with the magpies than me! Anyway, new permission this morning in Tyrone, never saw as many rabbits in one field. Picked off 2 in the first minute or so & another about 15 mins later - first ever rabbits with an air rifle!

2 are in the freezer & one in the fridge - gonna try ure recipe from here. Many thanks as usual & happy new year. Good hunting.

  • @treeratbuster Thanks, glad you liked the vid. Seen plenty of rabbit sign in the snow but don't think that they are coming out till dark, i prefer hunting them in the late spring and summer, anyway as you can see i've got plenty of magpies and crows to control for now.

Good luck on the new shoot.

  • what mm scope do you use

  • @MLeach22 Hi its an old Tasco 4.5-18x50 PA Big Horn scope that i use here on my BSA super 10.

  • do u know of any good hunting air rifles that are low priced

  • @superbowhunter88 Well i'm not sure of what there is available on the USA market, but Gamo and Crosman seem to do some nice and powerful air rifles at a reasonable prise.

  • @superbowhunter88 actually Tech Force has pretty nice rifles for low prices, that's what they're known for. i have the Contender 89 which is half the price of a RWS magnum though they have the same power. my only complaint is that the 2-piece scope mounts need to be replaced with a sturdier 1-piece

  • what air gun do u have

  • @superbowhunter88 Here i am using my Bsa super 10 mk2, in .22cal with about 14ft/lb of energy.

  • another great video as usual.happy new year brother!!!!

  • @chrisipab Thank you, and a Happy New Year to you too.

  • wow iv never seen so many magpies together

  • @gman121ful Yeah in cold weather they join up into big flocks like this where there is a good food source.

  • I have a big crows in my fields but when ever I try open the door they just fly away. Do you have any tips? They are about 50-70 yards away but I can reach out with centre fire.

  • @FuriousPixel Ah its the movement they see that is putting them off, so you need to set yourself and the rifle up in a hide or an open window or door with some cammo netting over it, where you can shoot safely out off it. Put some bread out as bait and sit back and watch, support your rifle so it is trained on the bait, so you need very little movement to get on target. And if you are for using a center fire rifle, watch your back stop and wear some ear muffs.

  • @HuntersVermin

    thanks

  • @FuriousPixel Your welcome, be careful with the center fire, and hope you see some red mist soon.

  • @HuntersVermin

I was actually being a goof I forgot I can just use my .22 rimfire haha..

  • @FuriousPixel Hy if you load that up with .22 subsonic's it would be great for the job at 50 yards, you may well get more than the one shot.

  • @HuntersVermin

thats a great idea! I will have to go check the shop and see if they sell them.

  • @FuriousPixel Also cover your white face and hands as well as wearing cammo to blend in, this also make a difference, a tip Hunters vermin also gave me, and yes Dave all corvid have keen eye sight !

  • @alpha2p

    thanks

  • @HuntersVermin Thanks for the reply!!!! Cheers!!!1

  • @MigityMigityMike Your welcome.

  • Thank for the reply, iv a few weeks untill i get the new r10 so ill have a think on cal, we have been out at sun down but not a bunny in sight I think the temp drop has sent them underground. so I can't wait for spring happy new year to ya I look forward to the next video.

  • @danijosh Yeah i've seen plenty of sign of rabbits in the snow but no sight of them to get a shot, think that they have all gone nocturnal this time of year. Have a Happy New year as well.

  • Hello is that a BSA r10 you was using and if so what cal do you use ? I'm looking to get an r10 can't decide what cal is best for rabbits , birds 177 or 22

  • @danijosh Its a BSA all right but its a super 10 mk2, in .22cal. The .22cal used to be the most popular with hunters because its heavier pellet gave more knock down power, but more people are going for .177 now with a heavy pellet for hunting, as its slightly more accurate and flatter shooting.

  • Hi Hunters,

You are a lucky fellow all those magpies ! Enjoyed the vid mate, thumbed and faved. Your using your superten if i'm not mistaken is it sub 12ftlb or abit more ? What you zeroed at ?

Keep up the good work all the best in the new year

    Pete

  • thank you for the upload and merry christmas!

oh and dont PCP air rifles lose there power in the winter? thats wat happend with my friends.

  • @ethan012340 Well my PCP rifle seems to be working ok thankfully, Glad you liked the vid and a Merry Christmas to you too.

  • once again very nice shooting Merry Christmas

  • @miketheknife2 Thanks, and a Merry Christmas to you too.

  • Wow, nice shooting. Alot of magpies, wish i was there.

    Merry Chirstmas ;)

  • @xarvex Thank you, And a Merry Christmas to you too.

  • First, Merry Christmas!!! I am wanting to get an air rifle and was wondering if you or anyone else could sugest a good beginner gun. I would like it to be good for vermin and plinking behind my house. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!!!!

  • @MigityMigityMike For a starter gun i would go for a nice spring gun, Crosman and Gamo make some nice air rifles in the USA but i've always liked Weihrauch air rifles as i've had an HW80 since i was 14, the underlever rifles are very good ( HW77 and HW97) which are sold under Beeman air rifles.

  • do you leave the dead birds out there or go get them once in a while? thx

  • once again another great vid its a pleaser to watch them keep up the great work 10+

    yammo12

  • @yammo12 Thank you, glad you liked it.
