  • very nice, would be nicer with music in background, an microphones :)

  • Well--Everyone likes Music :^)

  • FUNNY! =D AND SO GOOD

  • BEST. PROTEST. EVER.

  • Classic, Good to see america is alive and well!

  • This is freaking great job!

  • I. Love. This. Video.

  • Oh, I love it. Brilliant version of the song, brilliant singers and I do love your style of protest. Keep up the good work!

  • A lot of this debate mixes up health care itself, where private doctors provide care, with financial risk mitigation design. The financial issue must include SOME form of risk mitigation insurance, or a heck of a lot of money/credit/reserve for few individuals ... or luck.

Public Option/Single Payer means We the People agree to pay for ourselves together, w/o some private corp adding enormous profits for actuarial services and broadening individual risk, acting gatekeepers. Govt is "We".

  • That was one of the best - scratch - THE BEST - political statement of any kind I have ever seen. Gandhi would be proud... and entertained. You were non-violent, yet you got your point across.

True Americans (like me) thank you!

Teabaggers, well, they would thank you, but.. seems like they have something in their mouths at the moment, but if they ever get that something out of their mouths, they SHOULD thank you.

  • Wow 70% of the people want a public option but McCain got 47% of the vote. Hmmmm. I guess those teabaggers don't need an empty mouth to pull the 'R' lever in the voting booth.

  • @NakedWombat666 Of course they did a good job, George Soros can afford to hire the best.

  • Question: So we know that the Republican party believes that health care does, in fact, need an overhaul, but they believe that a public option and a medicare expansion are not good ideas. That's fine and dandy. Now, what do they suggest we do instead? I haven't heard one member of the Republican caucus come up with a plausible plan for health care reform...

  • 70% of Americans want a Public Option. But what's your point? The ruling class of this country does not want a Public Option. So guess who wins? Still, this is a good video. I liked the pollster saying he wasn't getting paid. Like we are supposed to believe he isn't a paid shill for the insurance industry, he just works as a pollster for the fun of it. Yeah, right.

  • what a site 5millionsitegiveaway com

  • Its not coomunist or socialism to have health care for the country!!! You fucking idoits!! look at france they have health care and they are ok. you dont see the russian tanks rolling in paris square.

  • Please bring the public option back. The people demand that the public option be brought back!

  • @eddie68000: I agree..........there are a lot of people who do want the public option, and frankly, I hope the Republicans aren't able to pull any nasty tricks come November.

  • I am not necessarily a communist. I do believe that it is a utopian, yet unobtainable state. But when many think of communism, they think of it under the rule of authoritarian dictatorships. Communism is NOT something to be feared. I don't think many have read the Communist Manifesto. I am the first to admit that I don't agree with all of its doctrines. I do know that some of the philosophies of communism can and should be admired and embraced. Most will disagree with me but that is my take.

  • Bravo! Billionaires for wealthcare obviously has intellegence and talent. But insurance executives have monie and power.

  • @afferch: They also have the Republican party to back them up, with their Orwellian doublespeak and all.

  • so much better then angry astro turffers with hate filled posterboard and screaming. We need more of this kind of attention. Dem's dont get involved enough its nice to see some make a public statement

  • @AL3XTH3LARG3 Yes. Completely agreed. Dems need to stay on the 'nice' side of the debate instead of spewing hatred (i.e. teabaggers). when americans look back on the health care debate, i feel like it will be extremely beneficial if they saw the clear difference between the 'screamers' and the 'singers.' Haa.

  • Public Option Annie is cute.....

  • According to FOX, this how liberals have forced the bill through Congress... yeah really. Imagine if they teamed up with Piano Cat.

  • Totally brilliant !

  • ...yeah, because this will totally make them take you seriously.

  • Been serious this whole time, we need better marketing. Like good commercials, they make you laugh...Maybe this song will stick to their brains. I could see myself humming it in the shower.

  • @eridaniblack its called satire

  • This is without doubt the most skillfuly planned and executed peice of guerella political theatre I have ever seen. Henceorth, I'll think of this as the gold standard against which every political action I plan or witness will be measured. Completely disruptive, yet somehow not disrespectful; on message, entertaining, filmed from multiple angles.... Truly brilliant.

  • Ask yourself this

How many people who HAVE health insurance die each year?

  • Versus how many people without health insurance die every year? How long do people without health insurance suffer? Do you volunteer at any hospitals? If you're Republican, of course not.

  • Next you are going to say you volunteer at a hospital? LOL

  • @TAMARLANE yes you are correct. because of the current status quo, people WITH health insurance die, that is exactly why we do need reform.

  • @crushxcrushxbaby

I agree we need reform. We do not need communism.

  • why would anyone want communism? It has failed all over the world. Russa has broken apart even china is abandoning the idea more and more. What contries are left that are making it work? I don't think any communsist in this country have a voice at all or a political vehicle. We have just had this idea pushed on us that the dems are communist and its ridiclous. Stop and think about it.

  • Communism/socialism. What is the big difference? Socialists are communists who lie about it. Why would you defend communism if yuo think it fails so badly everywhere?

  • Tamarlane actually , capitalists are fascists who lie about it. In order to get socialist programs, we have to vote for them and win the majority . The capitalists, however , just build their corporations and then we have to pass laws after the fact to rein in their abuses against the public

  • Who said anything about communism? They just suggested a national healthcare system. Many non-communist countries have this and don't seem likely to give it up any time soon.

  • Earth flat!! Public option bad!!

  • God, please stop this stuff. Goofy theatrics WON'T bring more support to your goal.

I would love to see a single-payer system (not just a public option). But singing pansies are a turn-off to the very people you need to sway in the other direction; namely, beer-guzzling working class people who flock to Palin-politics because liberals do stupid shit like this! (I'm one of those beer guzzlers, btw)

I applaud your ideas. But your means are a turn-off to the very people you want to help.

  • This was great, so shut the f up, lol. Nothing like parody to expose the hypocrisy of these things.

  • Well said LibPornQuiz,

That is why progressives continue to lose, they are afraid of offending the people who are burying us working class people.

Progressive democrats need to be ass holes like the republicans.

  • #PUBLIC #OPTIONS = #FREEabortions!

  • You 747danial are a pro-birther not a pro-lifer. 44,000 people die every year because they have no health insurance and that includes a great many children. People like you just want those babies out of the womb. But when it comes to taking care of their health, their education, their well being.... then you just turn your backs. And of course you believe in the death penalty right? And war? Your sanctimonious blurbs mean nothing. Except maybe that you are the people Jesus warned us about

  • Brilliant. So glad to have your support.

  • Healthcare reform = another sellout to corporate interests.

    --

And we know how the the corporations never put profits ahead of people - right?

    --

  • wow, that took some b-a-double L-s!

  • I want option on any thing!!

  • That's the irony of it. The public option will lead to the gov't eventually taking over, so that we have single payor, which is what Obama has wanted from the beginning. Single option means our only option. The whole process is insidious.

  • GetItRight4aChange everyone will be covered with right to healthcare like every democratic Western Industrialized nation on the planet, ... if they are "insidious", give me some of that

  • Those singers were VERY good! After conquering big insurance, they could have a career on Broadway... instead of K Street. :-)

  • Lieberman is a snake in the grass. He is the one person standing in the way of meaningful health care reform. All the blue dog DEMS qare sickening. We should take away all of their health care and see how they like watching family members die because of corporate profuts!

  • These guys are awesome.

  • Lieberman needs to die

  • That was Awesome! Keep up the pressure in your wonderfully entertaining way.

  • this is why people hate liberals

  • You must hate going to movies then because they are mostly made with liberal mindset. May I remind you that Liberalism means: Liberalism (from the Latin liberalis, suitable for a free man) is the belief in the importance of individual freedom. I believe in the importance of individual freedom don't you? Or do you believe you should be a corporate drone?

  • the current definition of liberal is not the same as a classical liberal. A classical liberal is a libertarian in today's language.

Libertarians (and classical liberals) are all against government health insurance mandates.

  • The definition that you are referring to is one that has been made up recently and is meant to be divisive. Maybe if we stop using ridiculous labels like these we can start talking about the actual issues.

  • Liberals used to proud to call themselves such. Now they prefer "progressives". So, I will restate my original post...

This is why people hate progressives.

    Happy?

  • Not really. I think using the terms, liberals, progressives, and conservatives really just fuel the hate fire. I find that there is very little consensus to what that means to each individual person.

I think this group is using an effective way to communicate their opinion in a way that money and power can't stop and in a way that isn't all about shouting in anger. I think it's effective to put on a mini play that entertains their point in the setting of slight civil disobedience.

  • What they are doing is exactly the same as yelling over the top of the featured speaker. The only difference is that there tactic is far more irritating.

  • They are targeting the issue not some broad generic term. They aren't going after them because AHIP claims to be conservatives. I don't think we really know which person is or isn't a self claimed conservative in AHIP anyway. We do know where AHIP stands on this public option health care issue though. The Billionaires for Wealthcare issue is health care reform by adding the public option and they are making themselves heard in this musical way.

  • Typical liberal....suppress the opposition. Where the hell is my previous post? Removing it does not change the fact that the majority of the people in this country do not favor the government takeover of the healthcare system. Here's a suggestion: write a non-partisan bill that creates true competition across state lines, addresses the costs of practicing defensive medicine and provides choices instead of mandates.

  • Everyone will need their kind of creativity if we get a public option AKA one more Gov't takeover--no one can compete with the Federal Reserve printing press! And each dollar accrues interest at the moment of printing--paid by our progeny. Instead, open competition across state lines! What about tort reform? Oh, that's right--Obama is sleeping with trial lawyers! What a SHAM! Poorly run Medicaid already eats 20% of state budgets--"Gov't" & "healthcare" should not be uttered in the same sentence!

  • Great.we creative liberals have talent while those neanderthals on the right have only hate and lies going for them.

  • Too bad the Democrats are not as creative as these singers. Too bad the lyrics turned out to be sarcastic & the singers were really supporting public option, AKA healthcare fascism. Frankly, Conservatives are tired of the song & dance--& false claims that Repubs offer no alternatives. 31 alternatives to this sham gov't takeover were proposed at the end of July. These were ignored by those in the smoke-filled room where the Dems have housed the lobbyists who actually wrote the 1990-page bill.

  • Translation: Liberals have a nice song & dance. Those on the Right have larger brains. ;)

  • Explain "healthcare fascism"

Also individual Republican members might have offered different (and often conflicting) pieces of health legislation, but there is no plan that the Republican leadership in Congress is offering as the Republican plan.

Boehner said this in an interview yesterday. Youtube- /watch?v=PoRKG8iR19g

There is no Republican plan, so the Republican plan is the status quo. .

  • If you on the right have such large brains then how come you never use them?Tell me large brain, did you use it to make all these asinine comments? If so than I do believe your large brain must have a tumor on it the size of a basketball.

  • When liberals are unable to defend their positions rhetorically, they attack the person instead of discussing the issue. Your second attack demonstrates the point.

  • awesome. i love it.

  • HA! I wish I could have been there to see their reactions. Keep up the good work.

  • Great Job, i love guerrilla theater! it's the best way to protest today! keep up the good work - you made the daily show btb

  • i admire the protest methods of this group -- effective, funny, civil

  • This is awesome!!!

  • YEEEEEEESSSSSSS!

  • saw this on Daily Show~!!! amazing. Good Job

  • Excellent!!!!

  • wow

  • YES... we should all rise up to fight for what we believe in... "Come what may."

  • Bravo!

  • I'd love to see more of this type of resistance breaking out across the country. Disrupt the system with song...

  • liberals know how to disrupt in a more amusing way than just yelling "death panels!"

great pipes on these folks by the way.

  • Precisely the difference between liberals and conservatives. The latter believe that truth is more important than entertainment. They also get to the point instead of spending month after month trying to obscure the truth in 1990 pages. How merciful that Liberals intend to amuse us all the way to the death panels.

  • You sound just as ridiculous as your right wing neo-con cronies. The death panel claims have been debunked because they dont exist and the reason 70% of Americans supports a public option because they have the aptitude to understand what the word option actually means. The right has larger brains? That was the funniest thing I've heard all day. I guess you are excluding the tea baggers, birthers, and the religious right holy rollers? Wait that doesn't leave anyone else.

  • GetItRight4aChange many people are both liberals and conservatives at the same time. The relationship between these 2 is a union set. Using them as political labels is a misrepresentation of what they actually mean.

  • Public option! Now!

  • Yes free health care for ALL!

  • BRILLIANT. Progressives have always been the masters of political theater and POSITIVE, IMAGINATINE, NONVIOLENT civil disobedience. (We don't have to tote guns to feel and BE powerful. All you need is truth, imagination, and good will toward others, even those you disagree with intensely.) Most importantly, FORWARD THIS VIDEO to everyone you know.

  • bridgesucks17,

I was recently charged by a doctor $412.00 for glancing across the room to see that my wrist was broken then he called the specialist in. I was told it was a consultation fee.. So some Doc's do over charge or charge for services not rendered, hospitals over charge.

  • Comment removed

  • its probably not the doctor but probably his employer mandated the charge. Which is why most doctors are for the public option. Believe it or not most doctors actually want to help people, its the hospitals that make them charge insane fees for doing nothing.

  • And all the anti-healthcare hilbillies have are "OBAMUR IS HITLUR!" posters.

  • Love it! Thanks to the creative minds who came up with this! and May we have at least the Public Option. (Huge thanks to Harry Reid!) Ideally we want improved Medicare extended to All!

  • People here are too partisan. I don't care which side of the debate you're on - everyone is throwing low blows.

  • this is quite true, republicans have good ideas. But they even know they cant throw together a meaningful bill with their ideas, otherwise they would have. Democrats are the only ones trying to offer a fix at this point, republicans are mostly just trying to block it. I would like to see republicans create a serious bill then have both parties hash out a compromise. The problem is there is no free market solution to healthcare reform. All the countries doing it better are more socialized.

  • The soprano with the glasses had a nice voice. (Have always hated "Annie!")

  • It's only a day away....

  • Progressives are SOOO much more talented and funny than the party of just say no.

  • Bravo!!! Extraodinarily brilliant, well conceived, non-violent and highly effective! Standing "O"

It took intelligence to put this together, in contrast to the belligerent and uninformed antics of the town hall protesters

  • nice

  • Public Option Now!!

  • PWN3D

  • Ladies and Gentlemen we got'em

    the public option is in!

  • but almost the most conservative one

  • Art with courage shall overcome.

  • Health care is not one word.

Affordable health care is a right. No one wants FREE health care. We are ALL expected to affordably pay for it.

  • That's enlightened. Are we owed national defense? Roads and sewers? Police protection? Federal disease control? Interstate commerce? Foreign embassies? Universal education? The four freedoms? How about calm, rational, civil debate, without all caps and exclamation points?

  • Oh for God's sake, is healthcare reform really an affront to Jesus Christ now? Really? That's where you're gonna take this deathtononbeleivers?

  • Awesome! So proud of them. God bless America!

  • Our Health Care system is broken when a Doc can charge $412.00 for an observation from across the room to a hospital charging 6times for an emergency room visit, then triple charging the health insurer to the health insurer that hikes the premiums up so they can make a profit, then dumping the insured because it's to costly. It's a problem we need REFORM... Health Care Should be a right for every AMERICAN... Good Health CARE.. I would prefer my Tax dollars going towards that..

  • If healthcare is flawed, it is definitely NOT because doctors are charging too much.

  • Comment removed

  • This goes to show you can have a protest without knuckle draggers bringing their AR-15s to an event. We owe you conservatives a huge thanks. Nothing has galvanized the Democratic base to work together and push for the Public Option (that WILL pass) than idiots like Beck, Rush, Malkin, O'Reilly and the rest of the swill. And you who parrot Fox News "Communism" "Socialism" and "Oba-Mao" idiotic comments over and over have helped inspire us the most. Thank you so much!

  • Well it's not that the teabaggers' anger isn't legitimate - the government's spent most of the past 30 years shoveling cash and favors to the rich and powerful while leaving ordinary people out in the cold. They're just so brainwashed that they're heaping their scorn on farcical conservative boogeymen instead of the scumbags who are actually responsible.

  • last comment was directed at

    deathtononbelievers

  • lol you wasted time crashing at meeting with what looked to be 15-20 people.

  • You don't get many people at the top of a pyramid.

  • ...wtf?

  • woooooow lol love it!

  • While I like the avenue, I will respectfully disagree with you on that the public option is the best for our country.

Open Cross border competition, which will give true options rather then a forced option of the government.

Get rid of some regulations that stop revolutionary, Cheaper drugs from hitting the market.

Give true doctor patient relationships to decide what is best for their healthcare without any repurcutions from the Government for doing so

That, the public OP can't compete with

  • Well the government option wouldn't be forced on anyone. It would be just what it says it is, another option among the many out there.

Competition may sound like a good idea, but that's assuming insurance companies will

A: Play fair (which they don't and won't)

B: Compete to deliver the best care. (they are businesses first, health care gateways last)

I'd rather have publicly funded, publicly tracked, publicly answerable middlemen between me and my doctor, and not moneygrabbing pencil pushers.

  • If your company dumps you because its cheaper to pay the fine than to cover you than its no longer an option now is it... My employer has already stated flat out thats what there going to do if the public option goes through.

  • Of course it is still a choice. You can choose to take your federal subsidies and buy private health insurance through the exchange. You can choose to pay premiums and get a public health insurance plan or a private health insurance plan.

And the private insurer will have to sell you insurance (guaranteed issue) with no more pre-existing condition exclusions. And your insurer will not be able to dump you if you get a costly illness.

  • do you know the term "experimental"?

private insurance co, can reject any payment by this term, and only the co, can define what 'experimental' means.

this is a scandalous result of lack of regulation in the market: insurance co, decide your treatment, not doctors.

  • do you know in most of bankruptcy (caused by health care issues) cases, people thought they are well insured, until they meet big terrible financial issues. the private co, refuse to pay for many ridiculous reasons

gov, are not supposed to decide measurement and diagnose, neither the private insurance co,

Switzerland has no gov-run insurance. but there are strong regulation in the market, so there is universal coverage of insurance.

public option is a good idea, but not the only choice.

  • watch?v=fk9Bgl7MhLA&feature=player_profilepage

  • woot...lol.

Like usual, republicans and their corporate masters never see it coming.

Everyone on the Left needs to learn a lesson from the Right...attack, attack, attack...just do it in a Liberal way, with actual facts instead of made up bullshit meant to drive fear and hate like Neo-Cons do.

  • Deathtononbelievers... I hope you know how sick in the head your comment sounds....

    WOW!

  • Its simply sad how far we have to go to wake people up that a public option is the only way to go for our disaster of a health care insurance system.

Now NOTICE. I did NOT say health. I said health INSURANCE. Our health care is great, but the way it is delivered is NOT.

    Wake up America.

  • deathtononbelievers: will your pixie dust cure my swine flu as well? i never realized that god and fortune walked hand and hand. jesus proably got his ass beat for preaching all that "money is evil" shit.. can you imagine the look on his face? walking into heaven.. "i did it dad! i saved humanity!!"...."thats great son, now wheres that 20 bucks i loaned you for gas?".. "i gave it away dad"... and the ass kicking commenced

  • Your an idiot.. Either you believe what you say or your doing it for attention.. and if you believe what you say last I checked Christ was all loving not hateful glad you have the nerve to speak for him.. I'm sure he's proud..

  • wow your ignorance is unequaled

  • Aside from their amazing A cappella abilities, the Billionaires for Wealthcare have perfect timing and theatrical blocking... the way the first singer segued into the oblivious speaker's "thank you" statement....and the video camera man, on cue everytime... phenomenal by all !

  • Simply amazing!

  • Pro singers too!

    Ventura Sheehan Perot

    Paul Nader McKinney Kucinich

    Kaptur Grayson Gravel Gonzalez

    Clemente Choate Carter Baldwin Anderson

  • I wonder how many people who support government run healthcare knows that medicare denies more claims then any health insurance company in the country.

  • of course not that would make their brains hurt if they actually had to think about facts

  • Medicare will be part of reform.

  • it's true.

  • Oh... wow. This is brilliant.

  • If you like rock music you should check out my page. I will appreciate it. Thank you!

  • I LOVE IT! Made me feel all TINGLY inside!!LOL ENCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank goodness for AHIP!

  • Brilliant! With an awesome tone too! Show those corporate a-holes what the American People are made of!

  • You ROCK !

  • To those opposing a public option, please tell your rep to cancel the postal service, public schools, the police and military - NOW!

  • The post office should be sold, the department of education should go away, the defense department needs to be scaled back by billions, & the police are state & local services.

  • KenMacMillan Well , you just caused Ben Franklin (first Postmaster General) and Thomas Jefferson (it was TJ's bill for public education which became federal law mandating publicly supported education for all ) to roll over in their graves

  • The department of education as it exists hasn't improved education one bit & has cost us billions. I can send you a link to studies that can attest to that if you like. I do think education is the most important thing people can do for themselves & their children. I just think we should have a charter system like they have in Europe, on a state rather than a federal level though. I also think that the private sector could do a better job with mail delivery than the government.

  • KenMac,

I'm reading book on Abe Lincoln. He scrimped and saved, bought books to self-learn religion and philosophy. His father was unschooled illiterate farmer.

Back in the day, ONLY children from well-to-do families could afford to school children, society was more divided by upper educated class vs. uncouth, illiterate poor.

Public Ed I agree is not neutral today. Some indoctrination in cultural values du jour. Teach style orig based on Prussian military society for factory work - JT Gatto.

  • Here is a poll by the Employee Benefits Research Institute, funded by America's Health Insurance Plans, CIGNA, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, American Express Company, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., and others. This is not a left wing poll.

"More than one-half (53 percent) strongly

support the availability of a public plan, while another 30 percent somewhat support it."

    83% support the public option.

  • Ya! Just posted this on my FB page. I'm gonna share this video and help out your movement. Once again LOVE IT!

  • Awesome on so many levels. Thank you.

  • LOL! That was the sh**t! Definetly posting this on my FB page.

  • ksdjsakldjsalçdjsaçda

  • Brilliant, thank you Billionaires for Wealthcare!

  • go billionaires--love all your vids!!

  • We need UNIVERSAL SINGLE PAYER. THE PUBLIC OPTION IS HALF-ASSED.

  • ncarnes.

Health Care should not be a right/left thing, I've seen good hard working people loose their coverage over a sickness I've seen lying bastard scum draw SSI early because they know how to play the system.. I've seen the system work with the VA,Tri-care, Medicare, I've seen the system not work that also goes for my private insurance company.. Health Care is broken in our country we need to fix it some how..

  • Sing it loud, sing it proud.

    THE PUBLIC WANTS OPTION!

  • For those who are against health care reform, think about the men and women that worked all payed for there health insurance and payed there taxes only to not be quite old enough to get medicaid and to sick and their insurance caps out and they have to file bankruptcy or go totally broke and loose everything. Those the people health care reform would help. But I know nothing..

  • Tri-Care is a good example of a private insurance company that caters to the military and re-tired and in a recent conversation it's affordable. But we do need the health care reform from the over inflated hospital bills to the insurance companies. Somethings in this country should be regulated such as utility companies and health care. Greedy Corporations or greedy people will always pray on a need.
