NIce Video, but where is Tonya Harding. She was one on the best in the world at one time. The only US girl to do a triple axle in competition, and the only US girl to compete jump fr jump with Midori Ito. She is one of my favorites.

No she isn't. Oksana could barely land her jumps without two footing them half the time. She's fun to watch, but she was just lucky that she peaked when she did to win the 94 Olympics. I would have to say Michelle Kwan and Katerina Witt are the best, as they are the most decorated to prove it. How's Oksana's professional career going?

@spirittammyk Actually Sonya Henie won the most world and olympic figure skating championships of anyone, but she was many years ago and they focused on compulsary figures. which aren't even used in modern figure skating. Carving the same pattern on ice over and over without varying it by an inch is a hard task. Years later Janet Lynn was a great artistic skater but not the best at compulsary figures however she was a fan favorite at her time.

@waddleduckie1 It's pretty obvious why it was banned. Aerial tricks are barely allowed in most dance styles now, let alone figure skating.

I disagree, Rebecca. The judges have no right to offer their frivolous views of what they considered, appropriate. They don't owe the right to what gender can do what and what they can't do. For example watch pairs and see what they did that the judges didn't see. They should let Surya Bonaly do what SHE wants to do on the ice, its her choice. Nobody makes the decision, except for her. Rules were never meant to be broken! But people break rules anyway!

@waddleduckie1 Rules are what a sport is judged on in football you have boundaries, in basket ball they changed the rules so they have 3 point shots, however until they change the rules that's what you go by. Janet Lynn was a great artistic skater but not great a compulsary figures. Since then compulsary figures were dropped do modern skaters even know what those are? I like Suray and she has gotten some recognition as she was 9 time french champion.

that was really really good...the only skaters i don't agree with you on are kimmie meissner, oksana baiul (her gold medal was sheer luck), and sarah hughes (ya she won olympic gold but i've always thought she was a good skater but never great...she just happened to have the skate of her life on the right day)...but a few i would have put in are kristi yamaguchi!! love her!, irina slutskaya, and Chen Lu. but i really do love your video.

@thomstephens To say that Sarah Hughes is a fluke is just wrong. anyone who wins an olympic gold medal isnt a fluke and she had other great moments to back her up. If she would have skated during a different time (when Michelle Kwan wasnt active) she would have won more competitions.

No, it was a triple axel so there were only three and a half rotations. Michelle Kwan never won Olympic Gold... the closest she got was the silver medal in 1994.
