The truth is, that he was weaker on every single training session. It's not the point to train with Kenyans, cause they are naturally giften by terrain where they living. Few trainings with then will not change human ability. thats all mystery. Anyway, I wish a good luck for Damian.
I agree that this is a perfect way to train for a Marathon. Kenyans win or finish in top 3 of 98 percent of major Marathons in America. Let us train with them.
@TheDuhgreat Yeah, Damian really wanted to run 2:40 so he was very disappointed. I had to remind him that he had only just got out of bed after suffering for months (after returning from Kenya) from giardia, and that he was crazy to run at all. Also that he had raised thousands of dollars for the Lewa Children's home. Still he wanted to do better so we went back to Kenya in 2011, trained harder for longer. I don't want to give away too much but his performance in the NY Marathon was sensational
I would not be surprised if that boy wins the New York marathon and says on the interview that this particular moment was what inspired him to be a runner.
Small gestures like that makes a big impact on kids - I know for a fact.
