  • why did no one ever do a cover of this? surprising, its a good song.

  • I like this song.

  • Awesome !!! Too bad it's not a good quality :/

  • Even for as simple as the solo and the song is, that's crazy stuff they're playing for their time frame. I love the Beatles, and love their story from beginning to end.

  • That backup vocal sounds amazing... and it's George, by the way.

  • 1 person's in danger of getting their ass kicked by angry Beatles' fans...

  • @DarkTrojanHorse RIGHT ON

  • Thumbs up if u knew this song before the movie came out

  • @DavidV285 I heard it in 1995, when you did

  • @DavidV285 what movie?

  • @NYYTeixecute09 nowhere boy the movie its a (beatles movie) and they sing this song in it

  • @DavidV285 oh ok...yea i think i've seen that. It wasnt that great of a movie but im glad movies like that and across the universe are introducing the beatle's music to different generations.

  • @NYYTeixecute09 i know they should make more beatle movies or atleast a movie with beatle music

  • @DavidV285 I became a Beatles expert through the Anthology back in the 90's....:)

  • someone pressed the wrong button

  • they were the beatles before ringo joined, just because he wasnt there yet doesnt mean it wasnt the beatles, just not as we know them. Stuart came up with the name the beatles didnt he? was he in the beatles at the end? nope...

  • @gmanlennon7 um no, no he didnt actually lmfao

  • @imtrippenballs oh, sorry mr im a beatles fan. look it up. he came up with the "beetles" first and then later it became the beatles, and a while i went to see backbeat which shows how they started and stu came up with it there too, so........l.o.l

  • @gmanlennon7 john came up with the name. if your basing your point on a movie, your pretty stupid so educate yourself and look it up. the fact that you don’t even mention their run as the "silver Beatles" before The Beatles leads me to believe that your pulling all this out of your ass... type in beatles interview.first video 1:20 in, Lennon will settle this for us.check mate.

  • @imtrippenballs

listen to sylarxII stu came up with the name and im not basing it on a movie im basing it on a play, books and documentaries but what do i know im not educated. yes i know that they were the silver beatles and john called himself long john silver blah blah i dont see how that was relevant to be honest.

btw, im not arguing over who's a bigger fan.

p.s im going to see pauls new tour. ironyyyyyyyy

  • @gmanlennon7 I’m not arguing about who’s the biggest fan either, its just you seemed so cocky but were wrong so I took it upon myself to try and humble you some. But your one of “those” , the people that cant accept being wrong even when they so blatantly are. Listen to JOHN LENNON … that interview I told you about should make things clear for you I hope.

P.S I saw Paul in August at Wrigley Field this summer on his on the run tour….IIIIIIIIIRRRRROOOOOONNNNYYYYYYYYYYYYY! ;)

  • @imtrippenballs i know im right, you think youre right so thats it... yeah thats the one im going to

  • @imtrippenballs I thought it was John who liked the wordplay in that Buddy Holly song, "The Crickets" because it's a sport and an insect - plus they were changing names constantly, so Stu suggested the Silver Beetles because they did beat music, and John changed the actual spelling to the "Beatles", so you were both right anyway. I think @gmanlennon7 was talking about the actual word regardless of spelling. That seems to have been lost in translation when you two were talking lol.

  • They strategically place Ringo's face over Pete Best in that picture using the tear-away effect.

  • @zoltar5282

    lol yeah XD

  • This isn't technically the Beatles though is it? Starr hadn't joined yet, had he?

  • @crazybay46913 Nope, they weren't The Beatles yet & Ringo isn't on this track.

  • the only beatles song credited to harrison mccartney.

  • @LuckyyDice but john lennon sung the main vocals

  • @TheRoxy6 Me tooooo! c:

  • "anythiiigg" i loike that

  • @TheRoxy6 yeah he is

  • One of the best Beatle's songs.....

  • @TheRoxy6 Yep

  • These guys sound pretty cool. What ever happened to them?

  • pre-beatles

  • And to think that they were just teenagers.. absolutely amazing!!

  • George was 14 when he did that solo awesome

  • @mrXXrauf182XX Just saying that's not that awesome. I mean, the song is great, but I'm 14 and I can do more. I SOUND LIKE A DICK BUT I MEAN NOT TO.

  • @c4r50n1 Congrats, George was writing leads at age 14 which is impressive

  • @BL80488 But, then again, I think I've been playing guitar longer than he was at 14.

  • @c4r50n1 Yeah just don't speak.

  • @gtojedisurfer Just saying that it's not that amazing.

  • @mrXXrauf182XX

Always thought it was just Paul and John.

  • @Punk93Metal no go see the movie Nowhere Boy its about john's life you can see george in it

  • swooooooooooooon.

  • This song is very close to Elvis Anyplace is Paradise. Just try it.

  • @MAGICO240 sounds more like 'Trying To Get To You '

  • @jokkergar You are right, it is very close.

  • is that paul on harmonies or george?

  • Oh my goodness. I LOVE the Beatles. They were so talented... They're absolutely timeless. ♥ them!!!

  • George was 15!!!!! just realized that.....

  • @QueenieG7 George was 14 and Paul was 16 when they wrote, then performed this for the recording, the very first ever of The Quarrymen, along with That'll Be The Day, a Buddy Holly cover, in July 1958. They decided to have John do the lead vocal. No Ringo then. He came aboard a few years later, when they were called The Silver Beatlles, then eventually just The Beatles, which was Stu Sutcliffe's idea. Saw them in Hamburg, Germany in 1962, then again in Liverpool in 1963. M.P. McCartney. :)

  • @mpm111144 oh god! that's incredible how they recorded the song at such young age.The Beatles (together and individually) has inspired me to start playing the guitar :) anyway thanks for the info :)

  • @QueenieG7 that's freaking awesome

  • Música linda!!!

  • youtube.com/watch?v=wEzFOQfEEbo

  • Best was still there xD

  • wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

    T_T

  • At what age did this abnormals compose this piece of art?

  • I think it's George who does the lead vocal on some parts.

  • @Helmut83 This was in 1958. :)

  • @Helmut83 John did the lead vocals; Paul and George did the harmonies.

  • The only recording by The Quarrymen, not yet the Beatles

  • @ernestoariel2008 if of The Quarrymen, but is the album Anthology 1, which is already the Beatles, and it would be odd to The Quarrymen, Anthology 1 so that this album belongs to The Beatles

  • @TheNemesis1809 This was originally done by The Quarrymen, along with a Buddy Holly cover of That'll Be The Day in July, 1958 and was never released to the public until the Anthology Disc1 was released in November, 1995.

  • Its By The Quarrymen which then later became The Beatles

  • got this CD for $13, sooo worthh it and i lovee it dearly!! id carry it everywhere with me if i could, but thats what my ipods for...XD <3 this song is completely amazing :D

  • "Knocking at your door" @ 1:08 the vocal is clearly George.

  • @subg88 that's clearly Paul instead

  • Amazing song, if only there was a better quality recording!

  • =(

in spite of all mthe danger ,spite of all that may be ill do anything for you anything you want me too if youll be true to me

  • this song is just awesome!

  • This isn't exactly the Beatles though, it's the Quarrymen.

  • i think this is one of the few songs,in which you are just waiting for the backing vocal. Thank you Beatles Anthology, never heard about this before(:

  • Hey I discovered this through the movie Nowhere Boy, now some of you may not like it, they do a cover of this in the movie. You should check it out from the movie, it's a good tune.

  • @darthmoop SO SAD when john is having flashbacks of julia :'(

  • @happygopretty

It is, it makes the song more sad then it's supposed to be, but I love it !

  • @darthmoop Its amazing either way... The boys in Nowhere Boy did a GREAT job!

  • @darthmoop i LOVE the movie and i'm a big beatles fan, it definitely does The Quarrymen justice :)

  • @darthmoop Actually, the version from Nowhere Boy has a better sound quality, but the original is always better :)

  • @Lmusik00futL fuck no dude

  • @carbalockerfishwife Yes it does have a better sound quality... this one can barely be heard, and you can hear the other one with no problem. But that is beacuse in the 50's they didn't had the tecnology we have today, that's why I think the Nowhere Boy version sounds better.

  • They sound like elves!

  • @MARMARR1 Yeah man i feel ya

  • Oh my god :) I just LOVE this song! :D

  • @MARMARR1 thats what made the beetles so great, they could make sweet stuff out of simple stuff! Athis is there first song...so if you follow the journey of the beetles, they mature in musical capability. And become revolutionary

  • and to think when they recorded this they had no idea they were going to be the BEATLES. crazy.

  • @MARMARR1 IGNORED

  • i love this song

  • They technically weren't The Beatles yet they were called The Quarrymen but it is a great song

  • One of my favorite songs... so genious.

  • thats a good movie

  • Someone should remaster this song and add some instruments. That'll really be great.

  • @cometandcupids Search up the movie Nowhere Boy. They sing this song.

  • Gives me chills. =') So cute and sweet! I met Colin Hanton and got his autograph!!

  • 0 people made a cliche comment

  • The song was written by McCartney and Harrison, and is the only song to credit the two alone. It was recorded on Saturday 12 July 1958

  • this is a Harrison/McCartney song!

  • 14年前の大晦日に見た「Beatles anthology」を思い出します。

  • this is by the quarrymen not the beatles brotherman

  • @helloiamkatie the beatles and the quarrymen are the same band dumbass-_-.

if you are in a band and change the band name it will still be the same band.

  • @beatles099 well no they have different members so not really

  • Comment removed

  • @beatles099 At this time they did not have Ringo; so no this is not the exact same band.

  • @Andydevine10 hehe, i play in a band and we have changed band members some few times, but its still the same band that i started. so the beatles will always be the same band that john lennon started.

if you started a band and then you and the members of the group change the drummer, do you mean then that its not the same band?? and i never said exact same.

  • @beatles099 And I never said it wasn't completely the same. The band practically stayed the same, but still it isnt the same.

  • @beatles099 they are 2 different bands

  • This song makes me cry. I wish I could be there. But I wash born so much time later.

  • This was before john came up with the beatles...

  • Where would The Beatles go if this was there main sound?

    They'd still be amazing ^ ^

  • i love the intro :)

  • They are truly amazing

  • This makes me smile really big. X)

  • George NAILS those harmonies :D

  • @blueblueblee thats paul and john...

  • @woohoo189 no it isn't, george is singing the ah-ah-ah-ah harmonies.

  • @blueblueblee That Paul's got it down. I think it's Paul on harmonies, actually. George is doing the "Aaah-Ahhh's" and the "doo-wahs" during the middle 8. Brilliantly of course. George rules and Paul's always kicked ass.

  • @viciousbloodbath yeah that's what i said it's george foing the "ah-ah-ah-ah" harmonies :D

  • @blueblueblee Yep. Then you are correct! The Beatles... damn fine band!

  • @viciousbloodbath always nice to hear of another fan :D

  • @viciousbloodbath John Lennon – lead vocal, rhythm guitar * Paul McCartney – rhythm guitar, backing vocal * George Harrison – lead guitar, backing vocal * John Lowe – piano * Colin Hanton – drums

  • @QueenBeatlesWings Very cool!

  • @blueblueblee yarly roflmao

  • @blueblueblee its Paul, XD

  • @Standrew777 it's George XD

  • @blueblueblee o.o really? i heard different, but, ok

  • @blueblueblee plz can you explain me how do they sing those harmonies?, i thought it was only john and paul, thnks

  • @jozz412 it's pretty easy. Paul is singing harmony. John of course is lead. George is sing ahhh ahhh ahh and the doo waa waa or how ever you would spell it.

  • @blueblueblee I dont hear George in there....sounds like John and Paul

  • @TheAmericanOriginal I think George does the little "ahhh" bits in between the lines like at 0:13 but yeah I think you're right it's John and Paul singing the words

  • @TheAmericanOriginal hes the one going awwwwww

  • @TheAmericanOriginal Song is sung by all three, mostly George, and it credited Harrison/ McCartney.

  • @TheAmericanOriginal in the book I have it says that George is on harmony vocals. And George and Paul wrote this anyway, a rare George-Paul composition.

  • i heard this song in the movie "Nowhere Boy," good movie by the way. their voices sound so young, not a bad thing though :)

  • the greatest, amazing song, definitely should have been released but we still got it thanks to the anthology.lol can hear john's holly, elvis vibe in his voice. amazing how he turned out, to be the biggest legend in music of all time..

  • I have this CD :)

  • Mesmerizing.

  • Orgasmic.

  • @Coggin1in1Hull I concur. Anything Beatles is orgasmic.

  • Amazing!
