I think the Premier League may be regarded as more 'exciting' then La Liga but overall Spanish teams playing better football. The games have more pace and this shows in the attendance of PL games including mid table teams when compared with Spain's mid table teams. Real Madrid and Barcelona are by far the best teams in the world at the moment, (at the time of writing this Manchester City & Manchester United are the best teams in England and they were outclassed in Champions League.)

Diego is a flow of the game kind of guy. Works hard all match until it pays off. He was used as a 10 minute sub in 90% of his appearance at Man U, and incorrectly so. First year he gets the full start and finish in Spain he showed what he could do. Oh do shut up, Italians and Koreans have their own language. Americans have a sport which primarily uses the hands and call it football. It's like me calling football 'handball' because the goalkeepers can use their hands and you use them to take throw-ins, or 'netball' since the objective is putting the ball in the net.
The vast majority of Yanks seem to lack the part of the brain where the processes for rational thinking, irony and sarcasm are stored.

People in the U.S. say soccer by instinct because if you go about saying "football" people will think of a completely different sport. Simple as that. If you go about in the U.S. saying "football" and you are not referring to the U.S. version, than no one will understand you, AND you look quite hard headed, refusing to use the language in its native way and refusing to be understood just because you, personally, think it shouldn't be that way.
All in all, its the same sport, the same love.
