  • Got to love the "Uncle Tom" Episode..lol

  • lmao if it isnt the man(uncle ward) who played Fred C Davis in goodtimes!

  • @kasmiralyric Yep! Albert Reed.

  • Sage episode...when viewed critically--a lot can be gained. Where's the episode with Louis Gossett Jr.? The way 'he got at' Weezy... Hot! Don't know if I could have been that strong? Would not have 'given in,' No! But I would have had to Exit my own apartment. "George, I'll return when ur army pal leaves."

  • It's interesting that George mentioned George Washington Carver as a solution to the fuel problem. Because G.W. Carver's discoveries is related to biofuel technology today.

  • I always wondered where the term Uncle Tom came from, and who he was.

  • Hilarious! Terrific!

  • Back in the days when u could say," who u callin' Honkey nigga"? How stupid political correctness is. Uncle Tom, LOL. I forgot about that slang, that may be worse than nigga, he looked like he almost got a Bently beatdown.

  • It is funny to see people justifying racial terms. The only comments on this board that have any meaning are the ones about inventions. I watched an interview on television featuring the creator of All In The Family. He said the show was showing how stupid bigotry really is.

  • Every show was consistenly funny. Kinda underrated show.

  • definitely underrated.

  • PAUL BENEDICT (Mr. Bentley) 1938-2008

    ISABEL SANFORD (Louise Jefferson/Weezy) 1917-2004

    MIKE EVANS (Lionel Jefferson) 1949-2006

    ROXIE ROKER (Helen Willis) 1929-1995

    FRANKLIN COVER (Tom Willis) 1928-2006

They're finally in that deluxe apartment in the sky. Sherman Hemsley (George Jefferson), Marla Gibbs (Florence Johnston), and Berlinda Tolbert (Jenny Willis) are still alive.

  • thanks for the update Blackphenom.

  • Don't Forget

    Zara Culley (Mother Jefferson) 1892-1978

    They will all be missed.

  • And let's not forget ebonie smith from the final season, she's still alive.

  • @BlackPhenom7 and the second lionel and ralph the door man and charlie the bar guy..all alive

  • Uncle Ward was also Alderman Davis on Good Times. The one who keep mispronouncing Wilona's name.

  • I can tell most of you have to be in your early years because you have no IDEA as to the life and times and things that were either going on, or were going at the time shows like archie bunker, sandford and son, god times and jeffersons were created. You were dealing with the end of the vietnam war, race riots only a few years prior to 1975 (the start of this show was 74-75) not to mention the fact that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed just 10 years prior to the creation of these shows.

  • Not only was that racist.. but extremely Un called for..

  • no one was racist, the system make them act that way ,they separated u from colored to red and white to brown and yellow to green;they all their are actors ,that the system used pretty well to continue the separation off the races to let them fight ech other and not against the system. And they keep it now,its why u have so many associations in defense of some race.u should all get together and finish with this racist system that separated u all.all of u are equal, maybe different but not superior

  • yeah that's real funny you idiot....tell me this, who invented racism?...you guessed it

  • Ignorance is something that can be inherited. You definitely seem to have only inherited ignorance. Lmao. Since you're white, of course that's the only thing you people are good for. Spreading sexually transmitted diseases and talking shit.

  • Heeey! I'm white, and I'm good at plenty of things, like laughing at the name that racist douche chose for himself...Wild Wabbit. Course, I picked paperclip31. Damn it.

  • In the 70's people weren't so hypersensitive as today. We were able to poke fun at ourselves and others and all have a good laugh. You were wathcing a play.

No fears of telling the audience what goes on behind closed doors. It is not a racist show, except to those who cannot see beyond race.

Like 'All in the Family' or 'Sanford & Son', nothing today is as smart, funny or worth watching. And racial connotations when used in this context, is no crime!

Well, at least it wasn't back then.

  • The traffic light was invented by a black man, as was the separation of blood from plasma, the freezer, the elevator, the automatic gear shift in automobiles, the electric trolley (there wouldn't be a rapid transit in most cities without that invention), the street sweeper, the pencil sharpener, the fountain pen, the typewriting machine... I think you get the point, dimwit.

  • don't sambo jackson the inventor of ice cream...we did it all....and grainville woods made the walkie talkie

  • your such a racist its pethitic get a life and be real. The jeffersons was no worse than archie bunker was. both were racist. if you gonna point the finger point it at all of them! sheeesh!

  • what's a "honky"?

  • Racial term for a white person.

  • Good clip. Thanks for sharing. It's one of my favorite moments from the show.
