@IamDarkStar2012 ADT has a bad habit of hiring anyone to do their tech work.. things like glass break detectors and motion sensors are easy to hook up but knowing where to place these things correctly is another thing. I've seen glass break units installed by ADT "techs" in the middle of a huge room quite larger than their detection range from the windows... ADT corporate is as reliable as any other corporation.... just make sure whoever you get it from knows how it works.
@immobile2005 Certainly their are bad techs and good techs everywhere you shop. However, at least ADT Corp. does a full background, driving, and drug check on all of their employees. Most small security companies do spend money or resources on screening their employees. Some will hire the cheapest electrician they can find without knowing their criminal history or anything about their past work. Don't get me wrong, I have seen some shoddy work from all different techs, but ADT is your best bet
@larrygreenberg Great job Larry.. I really appreciated this video. I currently have ADT and was thinking of getting Pulse for the extra added peace of mind and security. But now the geek in me can't wait to have all the gadgets.LOL.. But really, nice job, very informative.
If it works so well with his thermostat, why is he wearing a scarf inside?
Also, you can get a much better camera system with higher quality cameras and a DVR that offers free DDNS service so the homeowner can login from anywhere without paying a monthly fee
when my house got broke into i thought i'd get a cctv camera system installed by the best. paid ADT £1500 deposit and owed them £2000 to pay after install. instead of 2/3 days install took 2 weeks.A camera was not working so after abut 20 calls and 10 months later they move the camera and instead of an apology they send me to court. Most definitely the worst company i have ever dealt with. so many verbal promises that were all broken. i c y we cant comment on their you tube page. STAY AWAY!!!
very interesting how Mike and Larry play off of each other. None the less, IF you were paying attention, you would KNOW that you can LOG on ANYWHERE in THE WORLD! the option to go other routes are always there, as he pointed out. So don't persuade others due to your lack of knowledge! Simply not what does not work for you and move in that direction. Plus what is 2K to your life or the safety of your family!

I like the system and the technology used, but what if someone high on on crack doesn't care about an alarm and still decides to break in the house when you or your family are home asleep. I on the other hand chose to get a gun permit and buy a gun. If my life is on the line I do not have faith in the cops to show up when needed. The cops always show up when its too late. I do understand that guns are not for every law abiding citizens especially when you have kids. Props to your alarm setup.
ADY is a horrible company, I would not trust any word they said, I installed one of their latest system and it never worked appropriately, their technicians were unable to help, their customewr survice are the rudest. This is a company that have absolutely no respect to their customers or concerns
its a great system! i use it on my droid, and my rep says there's a droid app coming soon just like the iphone app. best part is, i can arm the system from the bar!.. .cause i always forget
Hi larry i have a professional camera system all ready ..and don't need it and no one there has info just appointment so i set one but i wish i had some prices ;) thanks sorry to bother ..how much where the lcd key pad ? and the modules like the one in your desk and the eye hub..?
doesnt matter because once the theif cases ylour house and gets your securitycode the cam is no longer any good, it becuase a theifs tool to see when you are home and when you arent...thank me for being a former theif!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Altho with this security system making it so easy...who knows...lol...watch your back!
I work for another company that specializes in home automation and the pulse system is kind of a joke I mean its not wireless and not to mention the entire pulse system runs off adt. eek. If you want a real home automation system that will incorporate your alarm, email me! Not mention we monitor your home for$ 33 a month, no matter whether you have automation or not!
You should note the cost of all the stuff you demo'ed. That camera package alone is $2000 and that doesnt include any of the other modules. ADT/securitychoice couldnt even quote me prices on packages & knew virtually nothing about them. $2k for a camera system is insane. I can buy a large commerical professional camera system for $2k which includes a 8-10 camera system, dvr, remote monitoring everything. Why on earth would I waste $2k on some cheap wireless pulse camera system?
@larrygreenberg I called ADT directly :) Can you lead me to a person who understands this product? Their own people dont know any questions I asked about it and pricing.
@mikestilly I'm sorry, I don't work for ADT. Did you get connected to the PULSE department? They have a special division set up just for it. Security Choice seems to be a "dealer". Are you not calling ADT directly? Perhaps that's the problem. If you google Z-Wave Wireless camera you'll see plenty of links with pricing, no where near $2,000.
@larrygreenberg Thanks so much for this video. I work for ADT and they dont have ANY training videos as good as this one. You are so thorough and explain it to where anyone can understand this system.
@mikestilly I work for ADT and I sell the PULSE system --- This video is excellent --- Well done for someone that doesn't work for ADT --- Sorry if you spoke to someone at ADT and they couldn't help you --- Customer Service in some instances won't give prices out as they may be limited by corporate policies --- BTW by contacting a rep directly like myself you often can get online discounts as well as offline discounts which sometimes are motivated by the need for the rep to meet their quota's
@larrygreenberg I called ADT directly :) Can you lead me to a person who understands this product? Their own people dont know any questions I asked about it and pricing.
Mmmm, I’m not convinced. This looks like a gimmick and have no real security in mind. If you want security use videofied. Its verifies all alarms with a video. And it’s it fully wireless. Not even once cable gets connected any ware. Check it out viedofied
i just gotta thank you for the valuable information u gave. i'm now working on a project related to ADT and i'll handle it with the help of this video.
@InsightCreationz I did, and I answered. There's an option for a cellular back up, i did not get it. You can still use the system if your internet goes out, just do wirelessly.
@larrygreenberg great, so you just put in the order and let them do all of the work right :) I agree with you on getting the entire package at first because I am sure if you need to "add" something, that you would need to pay a tech to come out or do it yourself.
This is an awesome demo of the Pulse System ..I am a sales rep for ADT and I have to say that you gave a better presentation then our trainers!! I am going to use some tid bits from yours to help demo my potential customers the benefits of the system. I have been a sales rep in the Baltimore/Washington area for 10 years.. I am so glad they came out with this product!! It is really fun to sell!! If anyone is interested in a live demo please contact me mcollazo@adt.com.
Hey Larry, what are the consequences that could happen to any adt pulse if you loose your ipad or smart phone since you linked your alarm system to it? Is there a way to kill the link to your system? Doing some research before buying the system myself .
Take a look at the ONGARD door brace here on youtube. Needless to say any device can be defeated, however proper security is about slowing down an intruder giving you and family members the precious seconds needed to get to safety, wait for the police or possibly arm yourself (if your properly trained) A home security plan should be designed in layers. Ie: door security, exterior motion lighting, alarm system etc. No one device will keep you safe from todays thugs.
Larry, I have the ADT pulse system. I am one of two installs in my area at the time of this post. I recieved an error the other day on my touch screen only. It says there is "no cell phone connection." ADT says this is due to a firmware issue and an update should be released in several weeks to clear up the error message. Have you experienced this issue? If no, I am going to push further. If yes, then it appears the adt tech on the phone was correct. Thanks.
@NSP269 Absolutely. I got it once about 2 weeks after the initial install. Scheduled a service call and the tech. who came out said it should not be showing the error message. He did some reprogramming at got rid of the message. Everything was fine until last week. The message appeared again. So I scheduled another service call. I had to unplug my touch screen about 2 days later and when I plugged it back in the message was gone. I canceled the 2nd service call.
@larrygreenberg Thanks Larry. After reading your post and not having luck with power cycling the touch screen, I power cycled the actual ihub. This seems to have taken care of the issue. Thanks for your review. It convinced me to go with the Pulse system. Very powerful system once you get the sensors you want in place.
@larrygreenberg FYI. Powercycling the ihub with the touch screen disconnected resolved the issue. Thanks. I bought this system based on your review. FYI, they are willing in my area (Omaha) to come down 30 pecent from their listed install price on this system.
The PULSE system is currently based off the GE Concord 4 security platform but will soon be offered as an upgrade to existing Honeywell security systems (within the next 6-8 months).
I am wondering how this can upgrade existing systems I have or if it all has to be replaced - I already invested a lot in ADT wireless sensors for all my doors and windows - can they just replace the alarm system circuit board and keypads or do the wireless motion sensors and window sensors need to be different too?
Also, I already have many z-wave compatible lights I control with a different remote - is there an easy way in the system to link it to existing z-wave devices?
Well done! Nice to see a full review is finally up on this system. Ours is set to be installed in a week. Absolutely the best option for expandable home automation and security.
That is great! I had that on my list of things to look into! How does the system react if your Internet is out? Does the company call you or does system notify you there is a disruption in service?
@akamanonthemoon they sure do - i asked about that. Keep in mind the system still functions without internet you just can't control anything wirelessly. But they do detect loss of power, internet etc. can will contact you to alert.
