Isn't she just a hoot! She just seems to elevate on the sly - eveything thing she does just has "groove" all over it. It does - sorry for the funk, but she elevates that too. I'm listening to this with a huge ear-2-ear grin - she's adorable. And, so IS pete.

This is the firstt time ive'd heard Scarlette voice and she really had a very nice one and wonderful voice i wihs she had lot part of the song..i just buy her album calle Break Up..her partner is a good singer too... Good Luck Scarlett wish u more albums come .. she was level up now with Jennifer Lopez, Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, Kelly Clarkson, and Carrie Underwood who had known actresses and singers..Outstanding..!

I agree I'm very glad that she's not doing commercial pop and is in this type of genre I guess? I haven't heard much of Pete Yorn either so along with searching some more songs from these two I think i'm going to have to go searching for more of Yorn's stuff also :) Much kudos to Miss Johanson :) Her voice is very unique i like it!

i wouldn't say these songs are miraculous, more just simple, and easy on the ears. but i agree, a lack of passion. especially on her part. i don't think they necessarily need to act flirty and interested in eachother, but showing a simple interest in the music she is taking part in would help her out a lot. she seems like she doesn't want to be up there at all. she shows no attempt at engaging with the music she is singing, which makes sense. it is not her creation. it came from someone else.

What do you expect when you listen to music of all genres... rappers always dress and act like they're real gangster, metal-heads always wear black and act like don't give shit about stuff besides metal, indie people always show off like they're hot shit. Everything is a gimmick and no one puts more of a show then indie rockers

true that most people stay within the boundaries of their genre, and follow the general unspoken "image guidelines." but then there are some people who make music because it is their art, and it is an outpouring of themselves. a form of creative expression. and these people have a confidence and authenticity that cannot be rivaled by the kind of diluted spineless music being put out by folks like scarlett here. not everyone is a gimmick.

Good point... but nearly everyone is a gimmick. I listen to Death Metal and their is a band call The Black Dahlia Murder and they are heavily criticized about not taking themselves seriously and yet are really good at what they do. But it doesn't mean that Scarlett is not capable of being a half decent indie rocker

I like her clothes and make up here, very pretty, but..i think that when the two people sing these miraculous songs on the stage they should look at each other all the time, and smile, and try to flirt or something like this.. there is a sort of a lack of passion in this perfoming :( these songs deserve more

Yeah maybe. I just think this is really tame compared to a lot of other "Indie" music, and I worry that using that label for this will cause the other music to be even more marginalized than it already is.

But I agree with your initial point. It would be way cool if Zooey Deschanel or Miley Cyrus sang in like some Rage Against the Machine band or something.
