  • Any one know where I can down load this gem?

  • Land Rover best? LOL No limited slip No locking differential No articulation. That thing is a joke compared to a modern ORV including LR's.. Those LR's were good for their time but that time was 1950. They don't even have 4wd in high range. Grocery hauling CUV's have that. My Nissan Pro-4X is WAY better off road than that LR. Top speed on that LR was probably about 40 mph. LR's as old as that one are antiques. And we haven't even started into wheel size, gas mileage, and reliability.

  • I have a 1976 land rover sires 3 , that my dad bought me as a first car in 1988, I decided that I would run that car till it would run no more as i don't want to waste money on car as I wanted to go to university. Anyway 23 years and a engineering degree later I still have it and it is still going. I mean all my mates with there German and Japanese cars telling me that it was not going to last a week before blowing a head gasket or having an electrical issue and it out last all of there cars.

  • @syncmaster710n14 My brother has a Toyota that he's been driving 25 years and it still goes great. And he actually took it off road too. Don't tell me a Japanese car isn't better than a LR when it comes to durability and reliability. In Cuba that still drive '57 Chevy's too. That doesn't prove anything except they can't get new cars.

  • @cj45629 firstly my farther owns a farm (hence buying me a land rover) and it has towed trailers twice its weight limit, also I do take it wading sometimes. 70% of all land rovers are still on the road, and I am not saying jap cars aren't reliable but British cars have a reputation for being very unreliable and I have always thought my old landy was the one exception.

  • we sill have ours we got new in 1974 still on the original engine gearbox chassis bulkhead ok it has paches but it has NEVER broken down and pulled out more jap crap and pulled them home then i had hot dinners keep all your jap 4x4s i will stick to my landy

  • At 2:30 it would be nice to be able to lock the differentials.

  • @WaterCottage Bingo! Even limited slip would be nice. Not to mention traction control. Hill descent brakes. Hill take off brakes. My Nissan has all those things and a lot more including full skid plates, big tires, and an engine that will push it from 0-60 in 7 seconds. That LR won't go anywhere near 60. Anyone that thinks those old trucks are still top notch just isn't paying attention. We had a Willy's Jeep in the late 1950's. It was great for it's time. But that time has long gone.

  • @cj45629 The one problem with having some many gadgets is if you are in the middle of no ware and an one of the hundreds of ECUs goes you have had it, with a land rover you just take a few spares and a roll of duck-tape and you can fix most things. Thats why the army still uses them.

  • This is great! Where do I dont load this?

  • Jolly good show - I'll take those tips

  • I'm loving the sunglasses!

Despite the age and cheesy nature its actually all very good basic advice. I've not taken my series III near terrain this tough yet but soon she'll be ready. :)

  • i love this . mine 1969 88 got new . still love

  • was this the 1900s?

  • I love the 70s music, any idea who did it?

  • @296jayce Sorry, comment deleted. I dont understand jibberish.

  • @teflonAteflonstorque was not specking gibberish, i was specking probably in slang or something, must have been a while, dont remeber what i said.

  • I want one!

  • No, it is a 1972 Series 3.

  • I've done some quick research, and i think it's a late '50s series 2, nice eh?

  • I've seen one of these, maybe a '60s or '70s with a nice looking skylift standin' around, just rostin' into pieces, (although it isn't very rusty, yet) and im thinkin' 'bout trying to buy it for lets say... 10.000 SEK (About 700 £ or 1400 $), What do y'all think?

  • Gotta love the old Landies. hoping to acquire one soon.

This video is really interesting to see, thank you for posting.

  • Hey I need some help i dont know how to use the high range, i mean in what circumstances is needed. i will apreciate your help...

  • @uneven45 on road is when you should correctly use high range

  • Highway commuting?

  • Fantastic vehicles.

Hoping to get one for my first car; a Lightweight would be awesome.

  • It's a Land Rover.

  • these rovers were famous in Belize now its all japs and american cars.

  • lol my brother just brought one for 900 pounds :D

  • gotta love those levers instead of crappy buttons and flashing lights when you move those youknow somethings happened

  • great video good tips on how to drive off road

    Land Rovers are the best

  • Wish my series III landie looks like this! Mine still runs brilliantly though bodywork is decidely battered.

  • all of those levers look badass!!

  • Do u only use 1st low when you are rock crawling and decending steep slopes.

  • In a series 3 I would.

  • Ok Didnt realise that its that easy

  • Just bought a 1982 series 3. need a few parts for it but the main thing i need is a spare wheel, anybody know where the best place to get one.:)

  • off of a scrapped land rover

  • eBay is probably your best bet and easiest just search 'Land Rover series wheel' I checked there's plenty. You'll be able to get a wheel carrier too. Or look on Land Rover forums - you can advertise for free(Just google them - there's a fair few), the classifieds sections in dedicated Land Rover magazines e.g.Land Rover Owner, Land Rover Monthly, Land Rover Enthusiast, Land Rover World.

  • bolt pattern is standard from series 1 to current defender so any wheel will fit, but the wheel is very common for use on old trailers too. Ebay's always a good bet as stated.

  • If owners have a spare one they don't need they often leave it on the bonnet or rear door of their vehicles for those such as yourselves.

  • thats the beauty of a landie, these beasts require being driven, not just sitting there letting the computer centre under the bonnet drive for you.they,l be wiping your arse for you in a few years.

  • Not a good ad for Rover when the poor bastard almost dislocated his shoulder trying to shift the transfer case.

  • a car for 'ard bastards, no 'elf and safety in those days, love these oldies!!

  • thanx a lot

  • this is why land rover is the best 4x4

  • love the way they say its your fault if you get stuck due to your lack of ability. Seem patronising is the way to sell landies

  • still the best after 60 years of landies c

  • Search for (Landrover land rover Photos Pics Video)

  • looks like the gaydon test range

  • video

  • im 17, Got a fiesta, but have put a deposit on a 1978 SWB diesel SIII so will have it in time for my 18th. Been driving around in the Fiesta since I passed in February

  • I have a 1962 88" fitted with a tuned V8, the boy racers can't beleive what they are seeing when I am out accelerating them.

Fantastic piece of video, nice to see the youngsters enjoying these vehicles.

  • 22 here, I've got a '66 88 I redid from the frame. I didn't know this film existed.

  • Useful tips - I've just started driving a Series One, check out my profile for some videos!

  • Rock on Landy...;-)

  • Great videos!

  • Haha! Nice!

I'm only 14 and have just bought a Series 3. It's a 2.25 petrol pick up, short-wheelbase. It's from 1975 so unfortunately doesn't qualify for free road tax.

I need to fix the brakes on it at the mo, new slave cylinders and shoes on the back are needed, and I need to re-do the brake pipes.

Currently I just trundle round the yard in it in 2nd gear and just let it roll to a stop =P

    Great fun!

  • Im 15 an i just bought a 78 series 3 for 200 quid. i take it round the fields but im sellin it on febuary!

  • Im 15 and iv gotta 1967 sII but its in bits lmao - hopefully should be ready for when im 17 :D

  • I had one when I was 16. Was a series 3 petrol pickup. Was ace to drive and was able to drive it straight after I passed my driving test. I'd get a job now so you can save up to afford the petrol!! Free wheeling hubs will help and if you can get an lpg conversion on it.

  • Nice to see the young 'uns carrying on the tradition. Remember, you are the owner of a Legend.

  • Cool Old vids

  • ahh the classic video, 5 minutes later the brakes failed and the landrover hit a tree then rolled down into a cliff and burst into flames

  • Dont be DAFT.... It's a Land rover, and an ENGLISH Film. Cars dont burst into flames in english films.... the producers cant afford to waste them!

It got 3/4 of a mile down the road and conked out with an unidentifiable electrical problem!

  • HA! so true.... its TVR's that burst into flames every 5 minutes

  • I thought it was Freelanders? LOL

  • @teflonAteflonstorque

I can’t believe nobody has notice the massive rust problem this guy has with his Rover!!!! The body has completely rusted away lol

  • @nw8000 thats probably how it came out of the factory! Its either got to be mud or rust

  • @crazycoleman118 how do you know that

  • An excellent piece of media! I had wondered if Rover had ever released a video like this on the Land Rover.
