  • SAD 2 SAY BUT MY PEOPLE (BLACK) ARE DESTROYED FOR THE LACK OF KNOWLEDGE AT TIMES ITS FRUSTRATING .. BUT DAS EXACTLY WHY IM DOING THE OPPOSITE OF DEM

  • wish my future was so promising

  • How did i get here from horn pranks?

  • it costs 400 000 dollars to integrate for 12 seconds

  • fuckn nerds. go outside

  • SSSSSSIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMMMSSSSSSSS!

  • the bit on the bottom says something like "meet the mathematicians at nottingham" if my limited knowledge of 8 bit binary is correct :)

  • @ChRIs23696 you mean if the online binary to text converter is correct?

  • Binary subtitles - for deaf nerds

  • @retrocareermelted

They all looked pretty interested to me. I think something else is going on, in that head of yours.

  • I'll be honest, talking about shells is just like joining a WoW guild. The exception is here, our education is so controlled by the Government that we actually have no say in what we want to learn. Personally, i believe mathematics should not require any fee's at university as you can't get taught it you either can or cannot do it.

  • Trying to make a case for mathematics by talking about its practical applications? ... I bet GH Hardy is turning in his grave right now.

Paul Lockhart's lament is a better approach.

  • i see many neo nazis

  • Wish I was smart enough for this.

  • topology is good stuff

take it as a course in your final years in university if offered

  • I love their enthusiasm towards mathematics. When I have mathematical discussions with my brother, he often leaves the room.

  • @arthritismutilans -

    yeah, I got something smaller: 1^2+2^2 = 1^2 + 1^2 + 1^2 + 1 ^2 + 1^2. Didn't say that you needed to write them as a set of pairs of squares. :)

but 50 is the lowest with that condition..

  • @horos22 @arthritimutilans 0 is an integer; 4^2+3^2 = 5^2+0^2=25

  • What a beautiful woman...

  • whts 1 + 1 ?

  • @MrYoichiii 2

  • Many mathematicians are cowards, they are having problems with basic maths. That's the reason you can't even get the chance to give them a simple problem to solve. You must post my comments and stand up to a challenge.

  • @mathesssful lolz your English is poor and your comment is stupid.

    Mathematicians ftw

  • @fcdog555 I am willing to stand up to what I have said. Many mathematicians are cowards. The reason why so many children are having serious problems with basic mathematics is because many maths teachers are cowards. I'm sure you might not need this money, but I am prepared to donate $500 to your favorite charity if you can solve one of my basic maths problem in two days (48hrs).Remember you will be doing this for children and the world will be watching. Thank you very much.

  • @mathesssful Okay give me the math problem.

  • @fcdog555 You must be a very talented person with these computers,I'm still in the learning stage. I can post it via YouTube in about 1 hour, please do this for the children. I will alert you then. Thank you.

  • @fcdog555 It is now 28 may,2011. Miami time 8:20 pm. I have posted this mathematics question on YouTube . 'a maze zing puzzle' It's the one that takes 2:05 minutes. The rules are there, (3) three missing numbers and (3) three reject numbers in this system. Children need our help! Any questions I will be willing to answer immediately if I am not at work.

  • @fcdog555 I have tried to respond, hope you receive same.Hope to hear from you soon.

  • @mathesssful You are confusing mathematicians (those doing math for its own sake or using math to solve real life problems) and math teachers (those teaching others a basic body of math structures). Are there poor math teachers? Ok, I think there are.Plenty! But isn't same true for physics, biology, you name it? Calling mathematicians cowards is misplaced to say the least. If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all.You might then pass as a decent if not elegant person.

  • @balancedscorecard79 Well, I will never willingly disrespect anyone, but I might have said somethings out of anger.I have been campaigning for over 2 years trying to get the attention of some educators.I told them that far too many children around the world are having serious problems with basic mathematics, which can be rectified easily, but many are not interested.I specifically pointed out that many students in High School don't know the L.C.M.of 2 and 6.Children deserved better.

  • Many mathematicians are cowards, they are having problems with basic maths. That's the reason you can't even get the chance to give them a simple problem to solve.

  • Mathematics is awesome !!! But applied maths is even better !!! Mechanical engineering wohoo

  • i would LOVE to major in mathematics, but you have to be a prodigy at it, so.... to bad for me.

  • @jvboy88 That's ridiculous.

  • @PrinceOfLogic lol....what? I mean..... I'm making straight B's in my math classes( calculus and stats), so there is no need to go any further with it as a major, since it will look bad as a mathematician.

  • Left brain people

  • I presented at the BAMC in Nottingham that year.

  • My physics teacher is so bad, she hasn't even solved 1 single physics problem on the board. All the does is talk about physics and doesn't do problems and this is at a university.

  • This vid made me want to learn binary.....

  • HI,

DID anyone notice the problem in the Maths Trail, what is the smallest number that could be expressed as the sum of 2 integer squares, in at least 2 different ways.

    I got 50, as 5^2+ 5^2= 1^2 + 7^2, anyone got smaller?

  • maths is so beautiful.

my problem right now is my teacher.. the only word she knows is GRAPHICAL CALCULATOR!

i hate her! she ruins the subject!

    greetings.

  • This should've started with the Team Fortress 2 theme.

  • "We don't choose mathematics as our profession, but rather it chooses us." M Gelfand

  • Maths is probley one of the most inportant subjects..... a mate of mine didn't do it and he has very few career options

  • there is only one truth and it is maths...evrything else is conjecture

  • Can I ask an intelligent mathematician a question regarding coincidence and probability??

  • Can you please tell me more about the music in the background???

  • can i ask how many of you got to this video through mei

  • why is there a load of binary along the bottom...

i worked out a few random ones to see if it were something i got

    32 116 104

  • I think for the first time, the masses are awakening to the realization that mathematics can actually have practical implications, a mathematical renaissance has begun! Now, everyone including their grandma will be pursing mathematics! :D

  • I really really would like to sit there :)

    so far away >_>

  • i'm thinkin of going back to school and studying mathematics, but I think i like it more because it makes me look like a smarty man, not necessarily because i see alot of beauty in it.

  • @HowardTheFrog smarty man, huh? you could only appeal smart to a stupid audience. to the rest of us. everything you know is just knowledge, not wisdom.

  • anyone catch what was written in binary at the bottom?

  • get whatever tattoo you want man...tattoo should have meaning and if your into math like that then do what you do

  • which equations did you get tatted?

  • Partial fraction. dy/dx, gradient of f and my next of will be double integrals. :-)

  • i am too late about matsh i am secondery doing foundation lowest level i shoudlve coped on when i was kid and studied i guess i am to late l learn everything from the beginning

  • Nothing's ever too late as long as you're alive.

  • If one wants to be a mathematician, one must put his/her heart to it. And I'm one of those some aspiring-to-be-a-mathematician-someday. I was once a math-hater and later found out the Beauty, Order, Harmony and Abstract complexities of this noble field. Right now, I'm planning of studying math textbooks for seven hrs straight. I'll take pure mathematics as major soon as a undergraduate student but for now I need to earn some cash for my college education through joining in the U.S. Navy.

  • Good Luck PatrickLars, ive loved mathematics since i was 15 but stopped and now @ 36 im thinking about studying it again i hope and wish you the best in your endeavour!

  • what a amazing video NOT

  • all the white kids are bored and all the asians are having a blast

  • @retrocareermelted lol...so you are suggesting, that white people are way ahead of the asians...? :-P

  • i love math as im frequently common with calculations, measures and multiplications, im not familiar with physics though. lolz ill get so owned in that subject. smh

  • by year 11 - 12 its usually too late to enthuse students because they usually hate it/ haven't tried to do well enough to get into a maths couse.

take in Primary 6 + 7 kids instead

  • The event was for students who were considering studying Mathematics or related subjects at University, so the students were already enthused.

  • What is the music on this?

    "Meet the Mathematicians in Notttingham"

  • Hi komplettgroup.... As the first person to completely decipher the code, the School of Mathematical Sciences is happy to offer you a (rather unimpressive) prize! Send me a personal message and I'll arrange to send it over to you!

  • Gah! not fair, I gave the clues to the decoding before Komplett! LOL

  • that's just plain old binary >.>

Every half brained internet seducted person can decipher that just google "binary translator"

  • And every quarter brained internet person, to state the obvious :D lol

  • most certainly, as it is my raison d'être

  • @nottinghamscience wat did u send him ?

  • @MrUnibro I told him to solve the puzzle that took 2:06

  • @nottinghamscience what's so impressive about ascii?

  • @nottinghamscience how do you decipher that binary???? into words?

  • @DiabloMercy Binary translator found at your local market.

  • i would like to even have the oportunity to attend to some university like that

    Cheers from Venezuela

  • crazy piano lol

  • Dang wish I could have been there!

  • Damn I wish had something like this when I was at school. Now I am at university I am only just realizing how important it is.

  • 01001101/01100101/01100101/01110100/00100000/01110100/01101000/01100101/00100000/01001101/0110000/01110100/01101000/01100101/01100001/0110100/01101001/01100011/0110100/01100001/01101110/01110011/00100000/01101001/01101110 i got bored..

  • how do you know that, did you use a translator thingy or do you actualyl know binary

  • No, i physically couldn't be bothered to continue...

  • The code is 8 bit binary. Its decimal values convert to ascii computer codes (letters, numbers etc). I decoded the first 5 binary words "Meet [space]", I think the complete message must read "Meet the mathematicians". I didnt do it all, as some was hard to read on the lighh background.

  • I meant to say "light back ground". Anyway, wheres my prize? lol

  • i would have liked to attend xD

  • why is there binary code down the bottom
