For the most part most of these pigs will be very large when they are grown they will just be small or tiny compared to regular pigs. Advertisers for mini pigs ads are constantly getting banned because they show the pig as a baby saying this is what they look like, when really 90% these pigs are babies, if you are going to get one make sure you see how big the parents are!..in person. it takes a pig 5 years to fully grow!

@mrcheekycheeks No, they now have specially grown pigs that are breed to be small. They are not really that small, but they do get about as small as maybe a small dog. My friend got one down in texas. She looked at the parents and everything. They are no hoax! Some places do try to hoax you because the pigs are so expensive. They just want money. They can be around1000- 3000 dollars. The breed is called Micro Mini. They got to the point where they bred all the pot belly out of them.

@ChinchillasForever yea thats why I said for the most part, and too look at the parents before you buy. Most are hoax's though as it is very hard to breed a pig that size. Pigs can also start having babies way before they reach their full adult size so even then looking at the parents does not always mean you will get a mini pig.

BEFORE you go and buy a new baby pig go first to pig sanctuary(it is like a home for homeless pigs) and look at grownup pigs to get an idea what to expect...

beside you may find there one or two unwanted, sad darlings that will be as good to adopt as buy new one.

@xwoahbabehx3x2 That's actually a myth. Any breeder telling you this is lying. Teacups and Micros are just new names for Potbellied pigs. They are sexually mature and able to breed in just a few months, but they grow steadily for the first two years they're alive. So if a breeder shows you a parent that's only 30-40 pounds, what they're not telling you is that the parent is still growing as well and will top out at around 100-130 pounds, if not larger.

@MrOcampoe I know where you could find some really good micro pigs that will only get up to fifteen pounds for around $300-$750. We bought our male for $1000. The phrase "teacup pig" Really just refers to that they can fit into a teacup at birth. Micro Pigs are the actual little ones. Send me a message on here if you are still curious.

please also be careful when buying your pigs, do not buy them from pet shops. I bought my "potbellied" big from a petshop they were labeled as potbellied, but they were FARM PIGS you can tell by the ears and such, it grew up to be HUGGGE.

Just do research before buying a pig and don't fall for the misconstrued "teacup" pigs. I love pigs, and a good friend of mine has an adorable and sweet pot belly pig. But they're quite a bit more work than to have a dog at home, so know what you're getting into. ^ - ^

There are no such thing as teacup pigs. As any experienced breeder or owner. The reason "teacup pig" breeders tell you they will be small is because they advise you to basically feed your pig less and constantly make sure your pig doesn't eat any fattening snack foods, or else the pig will gain weight, thus becoming the size of a normal, healthy pig. It's like a strict diet, but for pigs, and it's a cruel thing. Also, the pigs in here are merely piglets. They grow rapidly if you feed them right.
