PS3 controller + MotioninJoy + VMidiJoy + MidiYoke/MidiOx + learning how to use these confusing programs = lpk25 w/ pitch bend/other controls. W/ ASIO drivers I don't notice any latency, but then again, I'm not as pro as this guy. Probably easier to use a made-for-PC controller, eliminating need for MotioninJoy.
You can use VMidiJoy to program a USB game controller to send a pitch bend signal, then combine that MIDI output and the lpk25 into one using MidiYoke and MidiOx. I got it to work with a Logitech joystick, but I'm still trying to get it to work with the PS3 controller.
i'm excited about getting a nanokey, they've gotten a lot of bad reviews but JR uses one and i trust his judgement. i love how they're so small and portable. have you had trouble with the keys falling off?
anyways, awesome playing, hopefully i'll be able to do that some day
@mthwkln You can use the free program VMidiJoy and a USB PC joystick or analog game controller to map any knob/wheel/joystick to pitch bend. Use MidiYoke/MidiOX to combine the lpk25 and VMidiJoy output into one MIDI output for whatever program you use. Worked with a Logitech USB controller. Couldn't get it to work with a PS3 one, though I think it's possible with the right drivers.
Akai version is much better. I used to have a nanoKey and ended up throwing it away. The keys are cheap ass junk and fall off during this kind of playing while the thin ass plastic base that holds the keys to the board snaps like matches.
Just thinking, did you try to set both LPK25 and Nanokey in the same channel but setting one to lower octaves and the other one to higher octaves and then play at two hands in a full 4 octaves range? I have been thinking in this idea for a while, but sure is possible or not.
Hey! which one you like the most? I own a nanokey, and I must say I still can't get used to how it feels, I thought that the Akai mini keys are better, but in this video you can play both with the same ease, wich one is better for you?
@PabloDarioLi I really like the Akai because it has raised black keys. The only thing that continues to draw me back to the nanoKEY is that it has the pitch-buttons.
Really cool man! I just ordered my Akai LPK25, of course I won't play as fast as you... :( :)

@ironwolg
You can see in the video that the low c is missing on the nanokey. I think I'm going to get the akai, just wish it had pitch bend.

@Mthw7 Only human. This is what Agent Smith said. Yet The One continued to exceed the capabilities of that.
