  • Is it wrong to say I hate you for having a Hungarian M52...? (I've been trying to find one for the longest time, but every time they show up they're either mismatched, not for sale, or I don't have the money available).

    My personal PU is a '44 Tula on a '43 Tula receiver with a '43 Yoshkar Ola scope, all serial numbered matching, and imported in the same batch as your '44 Ishevsk.

    My only complaint is that they're addictive rifles.

  • Beautiful Rifles, VERY Cool shooting stations BUT in my opinion some audio commentary would have been nice too Other wise well done I love my 91/30 it has a butt pad and a 2-7x332 scope on it.. First time out it was hitting right where I needed with only minor adjustments. Purchase price From my brother 150 oh nad mine has the Hex reciever

  • Nice shooting man!, you definately know your rifles! that last shot at 200 yrds BULLSEYE! just another video to prove that the old mosin's still hold there own against rifles that were built yesterday, My mosin was purchased as a stock m91/30 1942 the year the PU scope was introduced so I built my own sniper rifle for under $500 bucks! she is definately the jewel of my collection! nice vid man!.

  • I have one. It is fun to shoot but not very accurate.

  • just about to buy a 91/30 from my cuzin. he tells me he cant sight it in but i am pretty sure i can do it..what is a good and practical distance to sight one in at? im not using this for deer hunting. id like to go as far as possible

  • @NeedWarForPeace I usually boresight by eye at 100M (or yds) off front and rear rests, then check where the sight is at. If it is difficult to register any hits, try it at 25M (or yds).

  • Beast of a Gun

  • Nice...

  • mausers = accurate for $400

    enfields= accurate $200

    mosins= accurate $100 or less

    nice m52 dont ttrade that for nothin

  • thats a nice finish on that mosin sweet!!!!!!

  • does the 3.5 x magnification of the pu scope satisfy u? i was thinking about moding my m91 30 but im a little iffy

  • oh yea mauser is so accurate

  • hey nice guns. i am thinking about getting myself a german mauser from ww2 for my hunting rifle. is that a good choice?

  • actually that's an chicom sks scope. it has the same dimensions as the 91/30 but the optics are coated and the graduationa are a bit further apart to compensate fot the ballistics of the 7.62x39 cartridge.now on my 44T 43 ishevesk sniper the scope has the star above the hammer and sickle along with the lens marking. under that it's dated 1943. for your best accuracy try the 7n1 sniper ammo from russia. for mine it's the best

  • The BDC graduations go to 2000 meters and are closer together than on a PU 1300 meter BDC. There are pictures available on the internet showing this scope mounted on a 14.5mm machine gun.

  • Hello, very nice rifle, im getting one myself soon :D, was that a Lee Enfield is saw at one point? i have one myself that shoots like a dream. I think you should try reloading mate, my groups became 4x smaller, and im using cheap shit bullets in my reloads with good ones I can cut it down even more, and thats from a battle rifle not a sniper rifle.

  • I could get better results with reloading, but I would rather demonstrate what the rifle can do with a round accessible by anyone else that would like to attempt the same or see how their rifle measures up comparatively. Yes that is a 1965 Ishapore 2A in 7.62x51 NATO. I shot this rifle 3-position in between relays with the PU rifles. Open sight using 1989 surplus Radway Green this rifle easily hits the 400M plate. Off the bench it groups 10 shots in about 1½ -2 inches at 100M with RG89.

  • Also, Sellier & Bellot 180gr FMJ and 174gr HPBT match will follow the PU BDC to essentially MOA precision. Zeroed for either of these rounds, you dial in 7 on the PU BDC and you will be on at 700M for elevation, dial in 5 and you will be on at 500M, dial in 8 and you will be on at 800M,

  • dial in 3 and you will be on at 300M, etc. That is the real beauty of it, you don't have to handload or do anything special and you can get these results. Of course, you may have to compensate slightly for atmospherics/altitude.

  • Just a FYI for those interested: on the Chinese 833 scope I was able to change out the 2000M BDC elevation range drum and put on a 1300M PU BDC range drum from a parts scope. Perfect fit.

  • Nice mosins. From what company did you buy the scopes from or did you buy them from an online auction site?

  • I collect(and shoot)Com Bloc Mosin Nagant based sniper rifles, so most all my scopes came on the real sniper rifles. The few spare PU type scopes I have mostly came from online auctions.

  • Do you have any mosin snipers with PE scopes on them? That's the type I would like(don't know if i'll ever get one though).

  • No. My MN sniper collection is late WWII and Soviet/ComBloc era.

  • Finally a video with some real PU snipers :) The scope on the Hunagrian is interesting-I might be able to identify it for you-I recall seeing one before,if i find out ill let you know.

    5*****

  • Thanks. On the "circle 833" scope, some collectors from the Gunboards Sniper Rifle Forum identified the scope as a Chinese copy of the Russian PU scope. It is used for a Chinese 14,5mm machine gun.

  • I was thinking it was a Chinese,Im glad you found info on your scope.

    If you dont mind me asking-how would you compare it to the Russian PU scope?

  • It is 4mm longer than standard Russ. PU. 43 grams heavier. External lenses have MgF2 coating. Excellent optical quality: reticle- sharp, uniform, straight, no distortion at extreme edges of FOV. Well-sealed at lenses and turrets. Estimate 70's/80's production. Magnet sticks to scope body and adjust knobs. Measures up well to Russian PU, not cheap commercial knock-off but rather a high-quality, durable military optic meant for service.

  • Thats cool,I recently purchased a silver PU scope from a Marine that captured it in Iraq off a 14.5 mm gun. I cant find any info on it though-year or maker etc.. Its very durable,everything on it is the exact same as the original ww2 Russian PU scopes. however its missing 1 of the screws in the adjustment knobs,do you know of any place that sells screws for them ?

  • I don't know of anywhere that you can purchase one. Also it is very probable the threaded hole that screw goes into is stripped-- very common there as these screws are often loosened and tightened to reset zero, but tightened way too hard. You can get a slightly larger screw and re-tap threads, or you can remove that piece it screws into (it is like a washer) and drill/tap new holes in same pattern. You could then use a same diameter screw but in the thread pitch you wish to tap.

  • Nice Mosin Nagant's and good shooting.
