If they can't get it at Whiteclay; they will go somewhere else. Again, the problem lies in the demand for the drug. That should be the focus of our efforts. You could provide a larger buffer zone than they have now and it will not stem the problem which is DEMAND.

What I mean is that people of the inner city have access to warm shelters if they are homeless. I don't know but ARE there food panties for the people on the Rez and medical clinics for the people? I'm saying that if these things are not available, they should be.

If they can't get it at Whiteclay; they will go somewhere else. Again, the problem lies in the demand for the drug. That should be the focus of our efforts. You could provide a larger buffer zone than they have now and it will not stem the problem which is DEMAND.

When the spirit of a great people is broken and generations are forced against their will to submit to laws and restrictions like there was and is on the reservation they escape . The alcohol is one of the sad ways that they do this. It is hard to hold your head up when you can not provide for your own family. It does not help that the town of White Clay preys on those same people. If the U. S. Government cared one bit for the Lakota people the town of White Clay would no longer exist.

I grew up half my life there, all there was to do was school, play some bball, and drink.after my cuzin was shot and my house broke into in the same month, we moved....anyone who says just move and that all we cause is turmoil, well think about who put us in that shithole and not in the black hills where could have had some sort of resource as an economic balance, I'm a Junior at Boise State University because my people need a voice. They need to get rid of the liquor stores in White Clay for a start. If the lakota who are abusing alcohol& are on assistance. They should not be given money, only food vouchers. Look up the history of Alkali Lake in B.C. Canada. They had similar troubles, but today are alcohol free. I hope that Obama does something for the First Peoples of America. They have been ignored for too long.
