  • genio!!!!

  • the master of the master

  • what a beast

  • de best

  • Jimi hendrix IS Johnny B. Goode

  • This from 'jimi plays berkeley'. It is a great performance. He controls feedback whilst playing on 11 the whole time , in a way that is otherworldy .

  • @taariqtaariq I agree. I have that DVD (great disc) and as guitarist and an avid Hendrix fan since the 60's, always wondered how he manages to control his feedback at that volume. My guitar goes feedback nuts if I jack it too loud. I guess maybe it's pretty easy when you are the best axeslinger ever.

  • Let's not forget Mitch. Excellent drummer and you see him at the end fist pumping

  • @skaworld509 Yes....never forget Mitch Mitchell....as Noel Redding rightly stated, 'a very very talented drummer.' Mitch was called Jimi's man.....and he earned that title. He was just as much a part of The Experience as Jimi and Noel, and just as important in producing superb sound as seen here.

  • Chuck Berry > Jimi Hendrix

  • @Buhomano in terms of how it is sung vocally, i agree.

As far as the guitar playing goes, i prefer jimi's manic playing over berrys

  • @jeevanirajiv Many ask this question....where did Jimi learn to play with his teeth? It was in the very early part of his career in Seattle. A guitarist Jimi admired played over his head, behind his back, between his legs, and with his teeth. This is where Jimi learned the technique. He was not the first to do this. On the Chitlin Circuit Jimi mainly played backing for artists such as The Everley Brothers and Little Richard.

  • What can one say,Jimi at his best, brilliant.

  • Usually i'm not that into covers.. I always feel the first artist made the best because that's the way a song was meant... but... Jimi kicks Chuck Berry's ass. And not just a little bit. Can't stop going mad on this one.

  • @wesleysmit123 Covers are great. Music is nothing but interpretation. Ones perception of the song, it's emotions. Best part is every cover is a different take on the same song. It's interesting when you realize how many different ways people perceive the same exact thing.

  • 1:26 waaaah too too good

  • Cut out before I could hear the crowd go insane!

  • No zillion mph leads, just pure guitar reckoning.

  • Saw him live at the Isle of Wight. I count myself blessed.

  • bella sta canzone

  • fuk yeh jimi

  • Americans always ridicule the English for our dental standards ,but they usually weigh 400 pounds with nice smiles.

  • corsa I meant

  • No ,but you look good anche la machina rosso corso 458 con sedile pelle crema e bellisima

  • E-P-I-C

  • that's just blew my head off

  • he is raping the guitar (rock) oo yeah

  • go jimi go

  • I have been playing 40 years and I can never match his total control of the instrument. He was a phenominan! a true master of his craft. RIP James Marshall Hendrix. A total one off.!

  • Berry,hendrix,clapton,richards..pure legends..on the axe..beastitality!!!

  • This version makes me want to punch someone in the face! :D

  • can Jimi do anything not aweome

  • Probably the greatest moment in rock history.

  • Yah but--- whens he gonna learn how to play

  • @rollingstopp he's the greatest of all times. so we can assume he knows how to play my man

  • @gloryvic100 my comment was so coarse -that is was border line flattery insult that it confused you --so let me make my comment a little clearer--..../.......That was the best cover of that song that there is

  • absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • io vorrei sapere chi cazzo sono questi quattro incompetenti che hanno messo su sto video NON MI PIACE....ascoltatevi tiziano ferro

  • Puta que pariu!

  • i bet no one noticed the drummer fucks up at 1:40 lol

  • @mydickbad ha ha......nobody cared about the drummer.....all eyes are on the man! Ever see the start of this? 'Erm....what are we gonna play? I know, let's play Johhny B Goode!' From that point on it is like an express train is running through your brain! When you come out at the end it is like, 'What he hell just hit me?!' Answer? Jimi! Yes....the camera man even felt it too!!

  • THIS MUST BE A LOUDER VIDEO pleasE!

  • Go Jimi Go!!

  • grande jimi!!

  • Looked like he was having an orgasm the whole time.

  • No looking at the guitar!! Guitar on automatic pilot. Countless hours of practice required to achieve this. Playing by instinct and sound alone. His hands are so well atuned to the guitar he knows exactly where he is at any one time, and where to go next to achieve the sound he requires. Pure genius. Loved him then, love him now, always will. A true inspiration to all guitarists the world over, and to those who would pick up a guitar in an attempt to aspire to true genius and perfection as this.

  • @MrMoggyman its really that difficult to play without looking ...

  • @GalaxyDestroyer77 ....get a guitar, close your eyes, and try to achieve this! Not so easy!! You can only get to this place through hours and hours of practice. The other thing too with Jimi was sound. Although the guitar was standard (although modified for left hand play) the strings were ones that Jimi preferred to achieve a certain sound. Once Jimi had a guitar he liked, he would stick to that guitar. This one is the Woodstock Olympic White strat, now in the Seattle museum.

  • @MrMoggyman Man, very well said, very inspirational.

  • @MrMoggyman it is not so hard to not look at the guitar while playing. However only when u playing at short piece of neck, this is fucking next level :D Play the guitar behind your head comes automatically with skill of no looking at guitar while playing. The stuff with playing with your tooths its another thing :D But all these things can Jimmy do with such stile and elegance :D Its supernatural :D

  • @Isidarable going at this speed while not looking at the guitar is something else.....but then again.......when comparing normal guitar playing to Jimi Hendrix, Jimi was always SOMETHING ELSE!! That something else is called GENIUS!! My hero Jimi Hendrix....this track just goes to show what can be achieved through hard work, dedication, and creative ingenuity on electric guitar. Lap it up guys and gals....this is the real deal!! Thank goodness I was priveleged to see Jimi live.

  • @MrMoggyman If you saw him, lucky you! I would give everything to see that.

  • @Isidarable I can tell you this.....if you think this is good, actually being there live was incredible. I was with Jimi from day one in the UK....at the Cream university gig when he first played....right up until his death. I have seen lots of comparisons and clap trap about Jimi's capabilities compared to others....but I can tell you this...Jimi was THE REAL DEAL! When you consider what you are seeing here is being produced on 1960's gear, there's only two words, 'musical genius'.

  • Hey guys, want to see something? Go watch Jimi Hendrix Lulu Show Full Version. It has over 1.5 million hits on the track. Only in black and white, but hey, who needs colour when the sound is this good? Cream sang to Sunshine of Your Love......the Jimi tribute has the guitar singing the words!! Watch for the slow down....I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E! This track and that are simply superb!

  • while jimi did have natural talent , he practiced 8 hours EVERYDAY it was practice that got him there.

  • PURE SMOKE HE IS THE KING

  • By bastard, Do you mean the 'Greatest guitarist ever to go grace this Earth?' :-)

I know where you're coming from mate !!!

    JMH #1

  • not to mention jimmy can also play a guitar like his ringing a bell

  • hahahahah im i the only that finds it so funny that jimmy's real name is actuali johny lololol

  • @bluesrckn yes?

  • that performance will kinda pass im meen thats fair--lol

  • estelar simplemente estelar

  • wait there was a video like this with 2 million views right?

  • Just unbelievable.

  • ride thr horse on the end of song, his gitbox whinnys ohh so good, rolling molen was here

  • HeNdRiX wAs ThE bEsT aT eVeRy ThInG

  • and instead theres jersey shore...

  • Jimi was a MONSTER when He Played.

  • Jimi's ability to improvise was equal to Chuck's ability to be inspired. I admire Jimi's flair and talents. Albert Collins gave us a lot of sound and melody. I guess what they all had in common was the electric telecaster or guitar.

  • Jesus H Christ.

  • WHAT TONE...

  • Nice version, but I still prefer Chuck Berry's. If there was no Chuck, there would be no Jimi.

  • @piratemonkeyfish

If there had been no Robert Johnson, JLH, Muddy Waters I'd agree, but no way did Chuck Berry have the influence on Jimi that the blues giants did.

    JMH#1

  • @piratemonkeyfish

Wrong. One can't over-estimate Chuck's influence n rock & roll. However, there are plenty of other players who can be cited as more prominent influences on Hendrix than Chuck was. Johnny Guitar Watson, Albert Collins, Albert King, Guitar Shorty, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker all influenced Hendrix's playing to a greater degree than did Chuck.

  • Jimi was the father of god

  • @90AlphaDog too bad he didn't have any children...

    LoL abnoxious atheist remark :P

  • Only the teeth? Nope! Over the head, behind the back, between the legs, and the teeth. How do I know? Seen it all live. Opening number at most Experience gigs? Howlin Wolfs Killing Floor. Seen anything better since? Nope! Opinion? Genius! Never seen anything like Jimi and The Experience before or since. True genius. Jimi, Mitch, and Noel will live forever for countless generations to marvel in their music. We will all pass away, but they will never die.

  • what concert is this?

  • @IbanezNick75 This is the Berkley concert.

  • I have been playing 30 years . The bastard can play better with his TEETH than I can with my fingers.

  • @ilikezappa Practice, practice, practice. Get up, clean up, dress, strap on guitar and practice, practice practice. Cook breakfast, eat breakfast with guitar stapped on! Go to the toilet with guitar strapped on.......Jimi liked the echo in the toilet! Live, eat, sleep guitar. Look closely......when you get this good, the guitar almost plays itself....Jimi's eyes are shut almost all of the performance. This guy deserves the title musical genius. He has earned it!

  • @ilikezappa lol

  • @ilikezappa that's what Jimi thought about Buddy Guy

  • @ilikezappa El mejor guitarrista de todos lo tiempos!!!

  • @saskiaferrer es cierto Amigo

  • @ilikezappa - Yes...but he stole that act of playing with his teeth from the legendary Andy Tielman who did this in the early 60 ties already in Germany, while people like the early Beatles and Jimi were watching him and his brothers.

  • @jt123egypte Thanks. I dont know this dude ,but I will look him up. I guess if no guitarist ever stole anything from any other player ,we wouldn`t have any musicians to argue about.

  • @jt123egypte Jimi learned the playing behind his back and with his teeth techniques in Seattle. There was a club in Seattle where a group played who had a guitar player Jimi liked. This guitar player played behind his back, between the legs, over the head, and with the teeth. This is where Jimi learned the technique. Do some research and you will find out that this is correct.

  • @MrMoggyman - Perhaps YOU do some research! The Tielmanbrothers started at the early fifties...Jimi was then playing with his toys!

  • @jt123egypte Please read these words carefully.....Jimi Hendrix LEARNED the techniques of behind the back, over the head, between the legs, and teeth playing of the guitar in Seattle. HE WAS NOT THE FIRST TO DO IT! I have done my research, and this is correct

  • @ilikezappa When you are this good you do not play the guitar. You hold the guitar and it plays itself! Look how many times Jimi looks at the guitar. He is on automatic pilot. Even BB King stops playing to sing. Jimi wakes up, cleans up, and puts on his guitar. In time the guitar becomes part of him. 30 years of playing. Do you have the guitar with you every waking hour? Breakfast, toilet etc? Jimi did! And when he moved around the guitar was not far away. Jimi Hendrix....musical genius.

  • @MrMoggyman Have to agree with you. I do believe that people have or do not have a natural aptitude to music, but there is no doubt that someone like Jimi, who was lucky to have some natural brilliance, also put in the hard work . I have played for 30 years, but no ,the guitar does not accompany me to the bog. Perhaps that is where I went wrong? That and the 30,000,000 Man/ Hours I spent playing "Doom" and "Tetris " ,instead of learning my scales when I was younger ....

  • @ilikezappa No matter.....fact is you picked up a guitar and started to learn it.....Jimi would love you just for that alone!

  • @ilikezappa XD

  • @ilikezappa 35, years Iv'e been playing. Yes, I fake his music as close as possible because it can not be reproduced, SRV did well, but still was not an original. Anyway I agree with you, bastard can play better with his teeth than i can with fingers.

  • @razorx3113 Well SRV was obviously very influenced by Jimi (just like 30 gazillion other guitarists) but I rate him as a great. The tone he wrang out of that thing was amazing. I have an old 69 Impala which I was driving yesterday and belting out some Stevie. It felt good. We lost two people we should cherish ,and Motley Crue are still alive. That really sucks............peace

  • @ilikezappa I agree SRV is a great. I'm not one of those who is the greatest guitarist people, I don't know why, Hendrix is it for me. With that said, I was floored with the stuff SRV was doing. Let's face it we all could name at least 20 guitarist that has brought something powerful. Funny, I remember reading that SRV thought his brother was a better guitar player (Thunderbird's I think). SRV had a hard time playing his brothers music. It's called, musical playing style. I like them all! Thanks

  • @razorx3113 Well ,I suppose guys love that "who is better than who else" argument. They do it for football teams ,beer, tanks and hollywood women they would like to shag ,so it shouldn`t be suprising that they do it for Rock Stars. It just so happens that Jimi was Brazil ,an Abrams M1 and Kiera Knightly naked in a bath of Guinness all rolled into one...

  • @razorx3113 I saw SRV live and the Fabulous Thunderbirds live on a double bill in 1986. Yes Jimmie Vaughan is a better guitarist with an original non Jimi influenced style.

  • @ilikezappa Robin Trower is not bad Hendrix sound alike. Robin Trower has great Vibrato.

  • @ilikezappa Try playing with teeth, could you play better that him with his fingers? XD

  • @rickycasta98 I am English . We dont have teeth.

  • @ilikezappa WHAT?

  • @ilikezappa I'm italian, we don't have brain XD why don't you have teeth?

  • Wow, Amazing!

  • INCENDIARY!!

This man had gasoline running in his veins, had native american powers to make his guitar how as a wolf.

Just imagine what would have be if he could had met the 70's tapping, the 80's shredding, and all new guitar technologies we are using now.

Not long live to you but eternal live to you Jimi Hendrix.

  • @KievanTiger

WRONG. A wolf pack is NOT "always filled with tension." That wolves kill their own is far from indicative of their being "always filled with tension." Wolves live by a strict hierarchy, which changes w/ time. Each wolf knows his place in a pack. Yet wolves are social climbers. THAT is what causes deaths in a pack. When a domestic dog shows such traits, it's called a RANK dog. Such a dog is dangerous to humans, as a "canid cousin" can be to its kin. Nice try though.

  • @KievanTiger

Wolves actually make devoted parents and live quite harmoniously within their family unit. If only your parents had similar qualities. Perhaps you wouldn't endlessly troll videos of 5 year old, attempting to belittle their musical accomplishments.

  • @KievanTiger

You don't HAVE an argument. You were done before you even addressed me. Now, get back to your video games and comics. BYE, HYPER-DIAPER!

  • Omg no top comments, nows my chance.

    Jimi's version is better!!!

  • HOLY SHIT STFU AND ENJOY.

  • @KievanTiger

    INCORRECT.

You wrote, "T-Bone Walker? Unless you have some actual evidence stay away from the internet, idiot.

Chuck Berry is above this amateur."

RIGHT. The funniest part is that you ask for evidence!! You're so mercifully free of the ravages of intelligence, that your unawareness leads you to actually seek "evidence" demonstrating T-Bone's influence on Chuck Berry!! It's common knowledge, you dullard. Just like Stevie Ray's last name is spelled VAUGHAN! lol

  • @KievanTiger

Sorry, Hyper-Diaper. The only lying is committed by you, to yourself. If you weren't such an arrogant little pussy, I'd burn you a copy of that show, along w/ some of the dozens of other SRV shows I have. But you'd probably rather play video games anyway, like the kiddie you are. In the meantime, perhaps you can expound on more of your silliness. How about further elaborating on how T-Bone Walker's an "amateur" and that I'm making up that he influenced Chuck Berry.

  • @KievanTiger

Where'd you go, little Hyper-Diaper? I was hoping you'd lecture me more on Stevie Ray VAUGHN. Or is it VAUGHAN? LOL. Hey, of all the SRV performances you attended, which stands as your favorite? Mine would be the 6/30/87 show at The Mann Music Center in Philadelphia. SRV was on fire that night. I still play the bootleg constantly. How about you? Oh wait, my bad. You weren't even born when he died. You merely attempt to lecture re things w/ which you've ZERO experience.

  • @KievanTiger

AWWW, were you embarrassed over having typed Stevie Ray VAUGHN? Yeah, perhaps one day you'll be able to correctly spell the man's name.

  • @KievanTiger

Awww, removing your comments again?? LOL. Hey, come on back and tell me some more about SRV. Keep in mind I saw him live 6 times. How about YOU, Hyper-Diaper??

  • @KievanTiger

Like Santana said, "If a guitarist is a painter, and the guitar is his canvas...Once hearing Hendrix for the first time, it became immediately apparent that WE were all painting in black & white, while HE was painting in color."

    Amen.

  • @KievanTiger

See, the problem is that you're just over your head. You haven't done your research. All of the players I listed are but a small list of the players who ALL worship at the altar of Hendrix. That you attempt to disagree merely shows your sophomoric ineptitude on the subject of guitarists. ALL of those players know what you're too feeble to comprehend. That is that Hendrix is the Mount Olympus of blues-based electric guitar playing. OK, little Mr Hyper-Diaper?

  • @KievanTiger Yea at one point man invented the wheel but i'm sure back then it sucked too. Just because it's older doesn't make it better get a life move on. Chuck Berry sucks and writes little kid songs in a standard blues riff wow impressive, not.

  • @KievanTiger

AMAZING. You call T-Bone Walker an amateur. As for "evidence," that's like asking for evidence that the sun shines. It's common knowledge that Chuck emulated T-Bone to the same degree that Keith Richards emulated Chuck. Perhaps if you actually LISTENED to T-Bone walker you'd be able to comment. But your calling T-Bone an "amateur" is simply priceless. I love feeding rope to you silly kiddies and sticking around to watch you hang yourselves.

  • @KievanTiger

    "Chuck Berry invented rock."

LOL, the hits just keep coming, don't they? If you had a clue, you'd know how much of Chuck's playing was directly copped from T-Bone Walker. But hey, keep it coming, little Hyper Diaper!

  • he's singing about himself folks case you didnt no

  • you gotta be good tonight

  • you gotta be good tonight

  • You know music sucks today when Fuse plays this instead of MTV.

  • @KievanTiger chuck berry sucks i've seen 12 year olds cover his music his shits boring until someone else covers it

  • @jesusiscool7777 your mom and dad mated in the back seat with this song playing from the car radio, so don't call this boring!!

  • @jesusiscool7777

Hey, check out the first video on my favorites page. You'll see the comment from this "KievanTiger" child, in which he comments on how the girl in the video is "begging to get fucked." HAHA!! Can you believe this jerkoff?? THAT'S how he spends his time, fantasizing about skanks on youtube vids, LOL. Check it out!!

  • berryhendrix

  • he burns like Napalm

  • when jimi came on the scene everybody said --get back--look out ---run--surrender==and it was all tru

  • Chuck Berry had to be jealous.

  • y'a trois fils de puuut-e sur youtube

  • He is playing ritham and lead !!! That fucking insane!!!

  • holy fucking shit....... (( just amaze))

  • Three people are dead inside.

  • @KievanTiger Why don't you put your money where your fat mouth is? Lets see your stuff hotshot.

  • @KievanTiger

"Hendrix is worshipped for his genius by small-minded idiots..."

    Like WHOM?

Eric Clapton? Robin Trower? Duane Allman? Stevie Ray Vaughan? Pete Townshend? Frank Marino? Steve Lukather? Mark Knopfler? John Mayer? Slash? Joe Perry? Miles Davis? Carlos Santana? Michael Bloomfield? Johnny Winter? Jerry Garcia? Niel Young? Billy Gibbons? Brian May? Joe Satriani? Mick Taylor? Marc Ford?

Yeah, all of those guys, to name but a handful, are wrong. They're all "Small-minded idiots."

  • @KievanTiger there's a reason the blues aren't as widely listened to as they should be. it's arrogant, "i was a fan before you and know more than you do!" blues fans like you who turn people off to listening to great blues. Instead of celebrating how generation after generation changes and alters the blues with the flavor of the time, you cry HIPSTER and decry anything produced after the originals with arbitrary-ass terms like "soul" and "heart." Blues snobs like you ruin the blues.

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!

  • @KievanTiger Ignorant? Fuck you. There is nothing I don't know about blues, stop shitting out your mouth. They don't play better guitar. Play with more style, maybe. I'll let you be the judge because I couldn't care less.

The original is obviously more unique, ITS THE ORIGINAL. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that out.

  • I love this guy
