  • 8 seconds in the vid he's like hell yeah bitches

  • @BammyQ the band is The Squirrel Nut Zippers.

  • @MBsaturnus

actually you would be surprised how clever animals are, some are proven to be more intelligent then humans in mental and physical ways...

  • i don't know why people are hating so much, even small landturtle's (Testudinae) such as the greek one (Testudo hermanni) their shell can withstand the weight of an adult person. the higher the shell (more of a round shape upwards) the stronger it is.

  • @geertdik true ! i actually stepped on such a critter and it didnt harm it. thats what their shells are made for.

  • @MBsaturnus indeed.. in college i'm studying reptiles including turtle it's just basics but this subject came by aswel

  • what is the name of this music?

  • THEY SEE ME ROLLIN

  • The kid was too little to harm the tortoise, if the kid was bigger then the tortoise would have just sat down and wouldn't have moved. I'm studying to become an SPCA officer and while this isn't considered animal cruelty, it shouldn't be encouraged.

  • They see him rolling. They lovin.

  • such a cute video what sort of tortoise is that my missus wants one but no so sure which one to go for

  • @spinnerdick that's a sulcata...

  • they see me rollin...

  • Poor turtle.

  • That baby is so precious. :]

  • My childhood was so empty...

  • Gotta be careful posting videos ith animals in them. People get crazy.

  • I hope the tortoise wasn't hurt by that.

  • Is his name Calvin? You should give him a stuffed tiger!

  • i know you prolly heard this a thousand times and im not automatically bashing this video or anything but I just wanted to say that just cuz that turtle does not look like it is in pain/or struggling, doesn't mean its not. Honestly, babies are not all that light, I have held them b4 and they get very heavy after awhile.

  • You guys are talking like as if the tortoise is going through hell. That 9 month old baby can't do shit to it. Freakin grow a pair and move on instead of blasting the uploader.

  • Stupid.treating animals like that, teaching children to abuse them.

  • THE IRONY OF THE FINDING NEMO SHIRT.... LOL

  • Love it >.<

  • Brainless idiots whine here about a turtle being rode by a little baby while cows and pigs and many other much more intelligent animals are cruelly butchered every day. Grow a fucking brain and start to think morons.

  • I hate all the stupid retarded hypocrites here in youtube, its okey and all fun if a human gets in trouble or being pranked but if some1 touches even a turtle they all freak out. This turtle should be happy he doesnt end up in a soup like many others, the baby causes no harm to him at all. so fuck you we live in a so fucked up world where human feelings doesnt count and common sense and priority have lost in oblivion.

  • Below* You retards they can support a lot of weight

  • everyone STFU a baby is not alot of pounds!

  • Hey Ma...look at me

  • Hey Ma...look at me

  • where do u get a tortoise....

  • @Wupseh Agree

  • Sweet

And I don't think it hurts the turtle as long it carries the kid that easily around the whole place hehehe :P

But riding turtles very often might deform their shell, I'm not sure tough.

  • Why so many dislike? Stop trolling ppl

  • @sharisa77 Haha yea you're right, Josh's face kind looks like that too there.

  • i think it's cute

  • im gonna drive it to school!

  • wow thats cruel

  • Most awesome video I've ever seen. Where can you buy one of these turtles? And how much is the upkeep for food and whatnot?

  • @MagnetiX sulcata-station(dot)org this link will give you information you need to raise a sulcata tortoise. You can buy them locally or over the internet. Google sulcata tortoise for sale and you will come up with current online resources.

  • do u need a license to ride one ?

  • In Russia Tortoise ride's you :D

  • Waddle me closer. I want to hit them with my feather duster!

  • How old is your sulcata?

  • @CraneTiger2 If he was Hungarian and we spelled his name the traditional way, you'd be right. But he's not, and we didn't, so it's Atilla. Just like Joshua, Joshwa or Joshuah. Same names, different spelling.

  • lol, 'Atilla' is supposed to be spelled 'Attila'

  • sweet :3333333

  • CUTE! :D <3

  • WARTORTOISE!

  • its legs are bent to the floor coz it cannot take the wieght! poor tortoise

  • @kinkyshamone no thats how tortoise are built it would still look like that even if the baby wasnt on -_-

  • Does really anyone think the tortoise is being mistreated? Then why its size? It has lived up to that point! Does anyone think an animal is mistreated when it gets to be in such a natural environment to enjoy?

  • haha this is what i wanna doo!!! xD

  • awh thats cute, i dont think its abuse until the boy gets a bit too big ya know? and im sure these people have enough sense to know when to stop letting him ride when hes too big.

  • good choice of "baby riding a turtle" music

  • Whats the drop chance of getting that when fishing in Northrend?

  • I love it ypur baby looks so sweet and happy and the tortoise is wicked and huge! I want one :D lol.

  • too cute

  • what kind of tortoise is it

  • never mind... it does look like a Russian though

  • Russian box tortoise right? cause that what i have but my tortoises name is boxe...(box-y... weird way to spell it with an e but thats how i wanted it) ive had him for about 4 or 5 years...

  • Yeah, I've read adult Sulcatas can push around a grand piano.

  • Awww.... =)

    To all the wiseguys:

I accdently stepped on my russian tort (about one tenth the size of Atilla) when i was 8 years old - and nothing happened to her. So its safe to say, that this big tort didnt even feel he was being riden by a baby... its no big deal.

  • tortoise excrete salmonella, be careful

  • XD

Who needs a baby buggy when they've got a turtle? XD That's so ridiculously cute.

  • I own one myself, and these dinosaurs are really strong. I'm sure a 9 month old baby isn't hurting it at all. Look for yourself, the tort is moving, and enjoying itself.

  • lol sulcatta! :D

  • i think that is wrong its a turtle not a freakin horse or donkey A TURTLE thats mean -.- its 1 just mean

  • @aswam444 Tortoises are really strong. Stop being retarded.

  • @aswam444 And what makes it okay to ride a horse or donkey?

At least the baby is on a hard protective shell on a TORTOISE (not a turtle) that are actually really strong and sturdy built

and not on some poor mammal's spine

  • @gabehDUH Assuming that the shell of a turtle is safer and more comfortable to the animal because it's physically harder is the most ignorant assumption. The spine of a horse or donkey are strong enough to carry the weight of human beings quite comfortably.

  • @MaintainedInsanity okay...so now add the weight of a saddle and the weight of a any belonging that person might feel the need to bring.....

The point I'm trying to make is what would make someone think its okay to ride one animal but not another just because its not traditionally ridden. And trust me....that little tortoise probably barely notices the babies weight.

  • @gabehDUH I'm not arguing that point because yes, I agree. But let me point out the key word in your comment.

"that little tortoise probably barely notices the babies weight."

Probably, which means you aren't even completely sure yourself. (and you insisted me to trust you haha) It's reckless for the animal and rider to assume because it sounds safe in your head, it is. Animals are all delicate creatures, how they would react to one condition to another is completely unpredictable

  • @MaintainedInsanity I'm not completely sure what your arguing then. One minute you seem concerned because of a baby riding a tortoise. The next you're saying horses and other traditional beasts of burden are okay....yet "Animals are all delicate creatures, how they would react to one condition to another is completely unpredictable." So...what's your point here?

Pick a point, or don't bother responding.

  • @MaintainedInsanity Wait, so I'm confused....are you Pro animal riding or not? You seem to keep switching sides here

  • @MaintainedInsanity

    Unpredictable my ass.

In the case of a tortoise, the amount of weight required to injure by compressing the shell is going to be much higher than the weight the animal can lift off the ground.

The fact that the child can be lifted, indicates that the weight is not enough to injure. Regardless of whether a larger amount of weight would be dangerous

Delicacy is very much a factor of size and anatomy. More massive and more compact designs are stronger.

  • cute baby and cool turtle...i had a turtle once....sadly it died...they arent really fun pets...most of the time they are sleeping and takes them forever to eat/move...they are only good to show them off

  • whats the breed an how old is he ?? xx

  • Your tortoise has the start of a bad pyrimiding problem which means that your might not be feeding him correctly. I have a 17 year old Sulcata. The reptile vet at UC Davis vet med clinic says that a diet of about 75% grass or grass hay (not alfalfa) with 25% fresh vegetables is correct. Sulcatas prefer the taste of fresh vegetables but a diet too high in these can lead to digestive problems calcium uptake problems which lead to shell malformation. Also riding on a tortoise can make it lame.

  • :)) adorable

  • @Islandboy023, who says horses are to be ridden? Is it because they are strong enough? Well in that case looks like this beautiful tortoise can handle a 9 month old, maybe I should make a saddle! Or maybe you should realize there isn't a child sitting on the tortoise every time you watch the video. How do you know tortoises don't like to be held? Is this because you see how they respond when held? This is also how I can tell this tortoise likes the attention given here. Think before speaking.

  • Get that ugly fucking thing off that beautiful Tortoise. They are NOT horses and they don't like to be held...

  • @islandboy023 you are a idiot.

  • @islandboy023

AWWW That kid is just too damn cute.

  • This is too cute!

  • This is too cute! Nice Video!!!

  • This is too cute!!!! Nice video!!!

  • What???!!! 9 month olds can drive turtles now??

  • Ash As a baby with his first pokemon ever, Squirtle.

  • i envy this baby ive been trying to get the turtle mount so like ever and hes lvl 9 and has it so unfair xD cute pics :D

  • for the ones that play world of warcraft IRL SEA TURTLE MOUNT XD

  • be careful about this, a local breeder in my country used to have some seychelles giant torts (aldabra) they are used to people and the owner let people sit on him (only one person ofcourse) but when a tennager sit on him it broke his leg and refused to eat anymore and died. please take care if you can thanks

  • @GisgizMieuu Thats terrible! Poor guy :(

  • lvl 9 w/ turtle mount? hax

  • @Overfap hahahaha tru dat

  • @Overfap D:< I FISHED IN NORTHREND FOR HOURS AND NEVER GOT THE MOUNT.

  • i want a turtel the size of a car and pull up to the store like morning ladys....

  • @Leothefisherman it would take u like 5 years to get to the store lol

  • Atilla teh Hun :3

  • Wow, what a huge turtle, didn't know it was possible to have such as pets :)

  • Silverfoxxee, Good suggestion. Atilla is a pretty mellow guy. I've never seen him bite anything without putting his nose right on the item and smelling it for a good 10 seconds to make sure he wants to eat it. The only time he has bitten, it was my fault. It was when I was feeding him a carrot from my hand and had it down to about a one inch piece left and he over bit by about a quarter inch and got the tip of my finger. He just cut my finger though, didn't actually take anything off luckily.

  • The thing to worry about is the tortoise biteing the child, Some tortoise are very aggresive and will bite with out warning if you takey our eye off them when you have a body party to close to them. One bite from that turtle would have taken off toes or fingers with little effort. maybe wear some shoes next time they are pretty fast when it comes to biteing.

  • @Silverfoxxee Snapping turtle yes.. Tortoise no. Most sulcata are very mellow, been known to nibble on a painted red toe thinking it a fruit, but most don't have the jaw strength to chop a digit off. Now a snapper, matamata those will take fingers and chunks out of a person in a hurry. But the large tortoise species such as sulcata/spurred thigh, leopard, Aldebaran, and Galapagos are not known for speed or aggressiveness.

  • when i get married and have kids, my sons first car will be a tortoise

  • My sulcata is 4 years old right now and very small compared to yours but they are strong, Ive already seen him easily pick up his house and move it where he wants. They are strong creatures and do like attenion and interaction. They both look like they are having a great time.

  • To all of you that are worried about the tortoise, think about these things:

The Tortoise itself weighs about 30-60 pounds and the child probably weighs about 20 pounds. If the tortoise was 30 pounds and the child was 20 pounds, it would be like someone weighing 150 pounds carrying something weighing 100 pounds. That is not a big deal at all.

Not only that, but a tortoise like that could cost thousands of dollars. Do you think they would allow it if they thought it would hurt the tortoise?

  • I have to of these African Spurred Tortoises, better known as Sulcuta's. My Tortoises love human interaction, and frequently nudge me so that I can scratch their heads. My sulcutas also like taking nice lukewarm baths! I can tell atilla is having a blast in these pictures! Kudos on having a wonderful pet in the family!

  • Isnt that a Sulcata Tortise?

  • I WANNA RIDE A TORTOIS!

  • Wow Sleeper. Even better, what if he wasn't just a snapping turtle but a actual dragon? Lets theorize all the different things he might have done and things Atilla might have been feeling at the time.

I know this maybe hard for you to comprehend Sleeper, but you need to realize that the tortoise is not actually giving little rides every time you press play on the video.

If you are still butt hurt over this, you tell me what is a safe weight for a tortoise that can move a couch around?

  • @Ahosobeitopahey really can it move a couch!! holy shit! love the video man!! XD

  • Get that kid off the turtle.... what would the turtle do if it was a snapping turtle? It would bite the kid because chances are.... no matter how much the owner wants to argue..... that turtle probably doesn't like that. So go ahead talk to me about weight and why you think it's ok....

  • @SLEEPERzzzzZZ28 Shut up! turtle looks fine

  • @SLEEPERzzzzZZ28 not gonna tell you its ok just gonna tell you to shut up its their turtle leave it be

  • what type of turtle/tortoise is it?? it looks biggish:D

  • It is an african spurred tortoise. Also known as a sulcata tortoise

  • Save a lot of money not buying those toy cars for your son to ride in ;)

  • Awhh! Soo cute! =D

  • wow that is so funny does it actiually walk?!?!

  • Yes he actually walks. These pictures are taken of Atilla walking all around with my Son on his back.

  • yah they can actually lift nearly 3 times their own weight.

  • ajjaja cool video

  • cute baby srry about the confusion 5*

  • Thanks for your opinion and concern. Atilla is able to push our couch around , he was just fine to handle an 18 lbs baby less then 1/3 of his weight for 5 minutes for pictures. It's not as if our son lived on his back or was there for an extended period of time. If it was so unbearable Atilla would not have be able to walk around.

  • thats good but make sure you take good care of that turtle

  • sorry, i just think its abuse

im a turtle "helper/conservatist" and i was concerned, so, ya

  • hey kid! how would u like it if i sat on you!! no u wouldnt cause im 100 pounds!! so beat that sucker!!

  • Seeing how you are over 5 times the weight of my son when these pictures were taken, that would be like a 500 lbs person sitting on you, difficult for anyone. You make it seem as though Atilla wasn't just a 3 - 4 lbs tortoise with your 5 times the weight comparison. My son being 18 lbs and Atilla 55 lbs, you would need to weigh more like 6 lbs to be on my son's back, or like a 33 lbs child on your back. Unless you are a 100 lbs marshmallow , you should be able to handle that for some pictures.

  • as long as baby's good to him/her, that tortoise is definitely one heckuva cutie

  • i like that++

  • wuau, how old is the tortoise?

  • About 14 years in these pictures.

  • swim srry

  • could the tortoise sim even though he was riding?!

  • He is unable to swim even by himself. The water in the pictures is just inches deep so he could walk through it.

  • The baby shouldn't do that, but it's still kinda cute.

  • how freakin cute! and i dont even like kids :/...that definitely looks like one happy tort, dont tell me he gets to play in that area every day?! i would kill to be able to give my sulcatas an area like that! they are very spoiled- but that is cool!

  • Ride em cow boy! he seems like such a sweet kid.

  • my friends name is Atila...

  • tortoise rider comin in to save the world!

  • Adorable ^_^.

  • aaawh Cute!
