Did you know in order to live a comfortable life in this present economy you would need to make $25 an hour? With the cost of gas, food, rent/mortgage, utilities, insurance, transportation, clothes, and lesiure all adds up to $25 an hour. So even with the assistance from the government people still struggle. It just takes the edge off. That's why I support Government Assistance all day!

For instance, if no one buy a large can of soup for 1.75, that indicates the prices are too high. That would mean the store would have to sell it for less. Now if people used food stamps to buy the soup at that price, it doesn't go down. It's hurts people who don't use food stamps because the price is artificially high. How is that fair?

Have you ever heard of coupons, sales, negotiation, competitive mark downs, going out of business sales, and managers specials? Most supermarkets profit off of mark downs and sales so does the consumer.

There is nothing wrong when a company issues coupons and mark downs and specials to get customers to buy their products. The issue is when the government is taking money from one and giving it to another for assistance. It hurts not just the person who receives but the one who whose money is taken.

No not really because the oerson who is paying taxes is well aware that they are paying taxes. Also the person who is collecting the benefits (me) is getting the extra help they needed.
