  • " love this song " great clip ... !

  • It is an exercise in adolescence to compare greats. One is not better than the other. It is simply your opinion that separates them. Besides, why don't I hear anyone saying that Dennis Chambers is the greatest drummer that god ever put breath into? That is, in my humble opinion (which is worth no more than anyone else's!)

  • Because Buddy Rich gave Krupa that title decades ago.

  • Why do you think they asked Neil Pert to perform in his honer, I think he is the best! But thats my opinion.

  • As to the Drummer and comments made regarding Vinne Colaiuta, This guy is an artist in his OWN right, but if you had to sum it up it one phrase, his playing, this is what could be said. . . .

It is as if Steve Gadd and Vinnie Colaiuta had a BABY and this guy popped out on a DRUM throne!

  • very true!

  • Vinnie is the best where ever he is. But in his absence, Carlock is doing a great job.

  • Whos better with sting colaiuta or carlock what do u think?

  • carlock carlock carlock carlock carlock carlockkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • It's like saying who is better; Joe Satriani or Steve Vai. Interesting to note though that in the Drummers Voting a few years ago (i think) Best All rounder - Colauita -1 Carlock -2. Not sure what recent results are. I don't care, all fantastic and makes me smile nevertheless.

  • Does anyone have the "next to you-live clip" from a show in september 2006 with josh freese on drums? Can´t find it anymore...it was amazing. Please put it up again....

  • I have enjoyed these guys since I was 11 yrs old and man they still make me emotional!!! Class act!!!

  • The man Sting is a legend on his own merits whether with Police or Solo. If you hear his music in the past 30 yrs one will be able to easily deduce that this man is a living genius. Ive enjoyed his music immensely all throughout his career. I consider myself fortunate to have followed his music through the years and yes it has been thoroughly pleasurable. I'm a die hard fan. Copeland and Summers were talented but the driving force behind the creativity of music and lyrics was mostly Sting.

  • no, no, no, Sting was suffering fillin theaters as a solo, he had to share the bill w/other strugglin singers to fill amphitheaters. The biggest mistake was recording duos w/that black girl...(french Name). He couldnt find his sound anymore since 1994 and had no choice but to reunite w/his partnes who actually made the sound.

  • Hi Leute! Danke, Mark

  • what a humiliating kick in the crrrrotch!

  • LOL even after 20 years ppl argue about who "was" the police.

Yes, Sting was the Singer and main Songwriter (especially in the later years) and wrote nearly all of their awesome songs. But that doen't change the fact that all of his solo work is TOTAL CRAP compared to the police.

  • sting is the best singer i like

  • Carlock rules .....Stings a prick - lol but he put out some quality stuff.

    He's only human though-

  • The Warlock layin' it down.

  • All respect to Dominic (great player), but Andy's sound for this song is much better.

  • i think keith plays the best with sting right up there with vinnie. Vinnie was let free to do what he wanted as well where im sure keith had to be the humble kid coming in to pay homage and he did while still being keith. Keith is exciting and thats what sting needs. Manu is great Abe is great but sometimes their sound doesnt fit with sting. i thought keith sounded great with sting. :)

  • i know he cant be the same man as he was and sing and play in the same style he did in the police in 1983 but it just doesnt do justice to the song, same as those terrible sting reggae versions of spirits in the material world and invisible song, just dont go there

  • you're pretty hard to please if you dont think this performance is good. he recorded this originally about 20 years ago and his voice is identical to what it was then.

  • Damn, so close to the stage... awesome!

Hi to all the Stings that are commenting ;D

  • 2 paramchi: v zivote jsem nevidel vetsiho picusa nez jsi ty!

  • 2 sting1993: Isht ein von Hindenberg Lead Zeipphlein Van Halen!

  • Policegirl & Paramchi- these are the kinda comments i'd expect on Pat Metheny's website-very high, intellectual conversations. I wonder if POLLSTAR is B.S.'n everyone about a possible Police reunion? Sting has always insisted a big fat no. And speaking of Stewart Copeland- he did a couple of CD's w/ Stanley Clarke & a female vocalist named Deborah Holland- they called it Animal Logic!

  • Sting wrote the songs = Sting WAS The Police

  • How can one man be the whole group?!

  • Picture The Police with a different drummer...still sort of works. Picture The Police with a different guitar player...sort of works. Now picture The Police with a different songwriter/singer/bass player...DOESN'T WORK!

  • Bulshit. The Police are Andy,Stewart and Sting. All of THEM! =/

And I totally disagree with you. "Still sort of" doesn't count.

  • What did Andy and Stewart contribute? "Is that my mother on the phone?" and "Ms, Gradenko"??? Is that music?? It was an act of charity for Sting to allow that noise to be included on a Police record.

  • Yes,it is! And you are not the one who can talk about these things! None of us are.

    So just shut up.

    BTW-it's "mother", you idiot.

  • Is anybody alive in here? What kind of nonsense is that? And that stupid inflatable sex toy song...would you be my girl...what was Sting thinking - allowing that rubbish to be on his records? STING WAS THE POLICE AND YOU ARE THE IDIOT BECAUSE I NEVER GOT PERSONAL UNTIL YOU DID. Goodnight. Thuggette.

  • What do you think Sting-their dad or what?! He didn't have to "allow" Andy and Stewart to put some songs of their own in albums... And it isn't "his records"! THEY ARE POLICE! A group! In a group there are usually more than one people.

    What do you don't understand?!

P.S I think,I'm not the only one who likes that song.

  • Paramchi I assume you are not a musician hence your fucking retard comment.

The Police would not be the police without Copland. You are telling me that if the drummer for Bon Jovi played with Sting the end result would be the grooves you have on Roxxane? Or even this song?

    You're and idiot.

  • Uh...if I am an idiot, then what are you? Huh? Steward Copeland would be nothing but a barrel-hitting thug if it wasn't for Sting who WROTE ROXANNE! If it wasn't for Sting, Roxanne would be NOTHING BUT DRUMS! WHAT DO YOU SAY TO THAT MISTER SMARTY-PANTS? HUH???

  • Talk about one of the most vapid comments I have seen here on Youtube.

You know I read your comment a few times and all I can do is laugh. It's like you speak German and you are trying to talk to me in English but you use all the wrong words because you don't quite know what they mean.

  • I'm glad you read my comment a few times. I only read yours once, so my comment took up more of your life than yours did to mine. Donka.

  • Rest assure my friend that your comment did little more than confirm my opinion that you don't know anything about music.

  • I know more than you do about music. Ask me anything. Go ahead. What if I'm Sting?

  • Why should I do that?!

If you really are such a fan of Sting-you should know that he really doesn't like looking at himself(videos,pictures,TV...)

  • I am Sting and I love looking at myself. I just told that to the press to paint a picture of humility. It's like a storefront. I'm running a hardware store here and I have to have a nice storefront!

  • :D :D

Yeah,it really shows what an incredible idiot you are. "Love looking at myself"... :D

  • How can you insult me, Sting? How dare you! I'll send one of my roadies to get you!

  • Well,in that case that explaines, why nobody can't understand what you have written... paramchi-there's no "if". You are an idiot and that's that.

  • What if I'm not an idiot? What if I'm Sting? What if I'm Sting and Sting IS an idiot? That would then make me a idiot then wouldn't it?

  • Some people just don't know what there talking about .... This mans middle name is talent..

Pure talent. a god of the music world... thanks for posting.

  • My favorite Police song. Thanks for posting

  • Great song, cool vid. Nice to see Keith Carlock on drums.

  • Sting always acted like a spoiled brat, let's wait for the new documentary to unfold many personalities....the best Sting solo work is Nothing like the Sun...

  • I totally agree with you. That was the first opinion of him when I read "One train later" and saw "Everyone stares"

  • The police were great, but Sting is the man. Thanks for the video, one of my favorite police songs.

  • Yes that true stewart is alright but a little dumb when he was younger, and andy was a waste of space sting can leave a band that was not going to evolve and thats what was going to happen. The police met their climax because one band member(sting) was the entire brains of the operation. I hate people that like the police and not sting so they blame it on sting blah blah WITHOUT STING there is no police. So everyone woud rather have a kiss band that plays 30 year old songs and does nothing new

  • Oh,that's just bulshit. All of them were(and still are) very good musicians,Stings is not the only talented. And most certanly-he was NOT the brains of band. No way. Stewart created the band, for your information. So,this means-no Stewart-no Police. Andy has also to do lot with "Every breath you take" and "Message in the bottle",where you can really hear his guitar.

Yes,I like Police, but not Sting. He was the one why this is perfect group broke up,not Andy and not Stewart.

  • This song and the police would not be what they were without copland.

That is not debatable, it's fact.

  • Who composed ALL The Police's greatest hits?? Sting. I think that if anyone had the right to break up the band, it was him. Moreover, the results of Sting's solo career are too good to wish he hadn't started it. So let us enjoy what this amazing musician has still to show us. Great song by the way.

  • Bah, maybe The Police should have packed it in, but maybe two albums later, even if they peaked after Synchronicity. Look at it this way: The 'Mats peaked with Let It Be and Husker Du peaked with Flip Your Wig, but both bands each put out two amazing albums afterward. (The 'Mats, of course, went on to make two more horrendous albums.) You get my drift here.

  • Couldn't agree more. Although Syncronicity would be hard to top, it would have been nice to see where the band would have gone in the following years. I do find it hard to complain about the music Sting has made since the Police though.

  • fuck you sting for break up the police!

  • Love this song...

  • "Many miles awwwwwwwwaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy..." Thanks for posting

  • hahaha, dat was funny! yup! i doubt dat it wil erver happen.. i wish i coud see dem perform together.. again.. stewart is one of my fav. drumers.

  • i love this song

  • Sting wants it all for himself and none for his teammates...selfish mantra-buddist-yoga practioner

  • Sadly, I doubt that will ever happen again.

  • That was cool-wish ANDY & STEWART was performing on the tune!

    Ah...maybe someday?
