Just curious which women out there can complete dunks consistently (I mean dunk, not layup at rim level that drops through) but don't?
If you can dunk, there are a few good reasons for it though. 1-potential psychological effect on opponent. 2-it's tougher to block than a layup. 3-it's less likely to roll around and rim out or bounce just a bit too hard off the backboard (assuming one can get high enough to make dunks consistently)

For a girl it's different because above 6'5" or so the extra height becomes cumbersome about like 7'2" or above does for guys (which is why Yao Ming is so rare, most of the good centers are between 6'10" and 7'1")
If you're a guy, you should be able to jump high enough to dunk - at that height it doesn't take much vertical at all. Even an average guy who isn't athletic can jump high enough off the ground if you gave him that much extra height (remember each 1 inch you grow is about 2 fewer inches you need to jump to dunk, because arms will be longer as well.

dunking has everything with height to do. shes 6'8 and has a wingspan of over 7 feet. she should be dunking. i'm a 6'5 white guy,and i can throw it down no problem.....but i still cant really jump that high. i just have long arms and i'm tall.

No, most women can't dunk no matter their height b/c their bodies weren't made for jumping. Margo Dydek is 7'2" and can't dunk b/c it's so physically difficult to get off the ground.

there are actuallly many women that can dunk but dont do it in games because its not neccary, why do it when its the same amount of points or w.e. they do what it takes to win, not the show offy play. and plus ur right kind of about the phyiscal part. womens bodies were made differently and they have more thats weighing them down like breasts lol and etc....plus as women grow, their bones get softer and leaner while men's grow strongerrrr and they gain more muscle

Just curious which women out there can complete dunks consistently (I mean dunk, not layup at rim level that drops through) but don't?
If you can dunk, there are a few good reasons for it though. 1-potential psychological effect on opponent. 2-it's tougher to block than a layup. 3-it's less likely to roll around and rim out or bounce just a bit too hard off the backboard (assuming one can get high enough to make dunks consistently)

That's pretty sad for a guy to be 6'7" and not dunk unless there's some medical problem involved.
For a girl it's different because above 6'5" or so the extra height becomes cumbersome about like 7'2" or above does for guys (which is why Yao Ming is so rare, most of the good centers are between 6'10" and 7'1")

If you're a guy, you should be able to jump high enough to dunk - at that height it doesn't take much vertical at all. Even an average guy who isn't athletic can jump high enough off the ground if you gave him that much extra height (remember each 1 inch you grow is about 2 fewer inches you need to jump to dunk, because arms will be longer as well.

When we as spectators look at high school sports: we cheer for the players, we cheer for the big plays, no matter the sport, even tho we KNOW they cant catch like Andre Johnson or Steve Smith, even tho we KNOW they cant dunk like D-Wade, VC, Derrick Rose, or King James... We still cheer 4 them and highly anticipate their upcoming games. Why should it be any different 4 the WNBA?

Only point I'm tryin 2 make is: these women are talented at wat they do. We cant possibly expect their league 2 be anywhere near as aggressive and physical as NBA! The only ones who can dunk are leslie, Fowles, Maya Moore, the Nimitz girl is the ONLY one gettin up there effortlessly!
