@keithsimonh In The Actual Short Story which is quite different from The Claymation aside from Satan`s Appearance before A Group of Children , Satan claims to be The " Other " Satan`s Nephew though it`s left ambiguous whether he`s telling The Truth or not ! The Short Story is somewhat longer than The Claymation and takes place in A London Orphanage ! The Claymation seems to imply he is indeed The Devil ! BTW , Lucifer , Hassatan , Beelzebub , Belial and Satan the Devil are different !

This said book was called quote, "The Mysterious Stranger," that being said, the plot of the book follows the nephew of the damned Lucifer Satan from the Bible. The nephew's name is Satan. Here, the director is alluding to the nephew, not the actual Lucifer.
