The "athan" itself is music you know, it's in "Maqam Hijaz". This means it is music....religious music. If some people tell you there should be no music with it that is not true.

With all due respect, I don't think you get to "tefti", as in to determine what's haram or halal. I love this song and I think it has a great message and from my point of view it is not at all disrespectful to Islam. But I can't "efti" either, that is to say that it is not okay, although I am a Muslim too. And "athan" is not religious music, it is a religious call!

It is simply the "Allahu Akbar" chant following the musicality of the Athan. Even if it was a full Athan, there are exceptions indeed, and this very easily qualifies as one. Third, even if you were right, this does not deserve this shock, my friend. You should be happy with the effort and the purpose. I am proud they made this video.

I really liked both of them together. It got me Goosebumps. And I even started tearing. Then I thought to myself. 'i don't like the idea of music with Adan. There has to be respect made to the Adan so you can't have music, when you think of it whenever the Adan beyedan we turn off the music. In football matches the referee even stops the game for a minute.'

@1993NS Adaan itself is written in Maqam Hijaz - we use notes to determine the Adaan - it is in and of itself music - those are two musical elements blended together. People turn off music while the Adaan is on, because they do not want anything to hinder it from reaching the people, but in this case the music's ultimate purpose is for the Adaan to reach the people.

The Athan is the Muslim call to Prayer, and the Ave Maria is a hymn to the Virgin Mary, who is blessed above all women in Islam as well as Christianity. I'm sure you know these facts.

However, the "Ave Maria", a Latin Hymn, is infact a prayer too; In English it is: Hail Mary, Full of Grace, etc.

The Ave Maria is also a prayer, just as the Athan is the call to prayer. It is a Latin Hymn but it is originally a prayer to the Virgin Mary; it is: Hail Mary, Full of Grace, etc. etc. One is a prayer and one is the call to prayer. Why should they not be combined?

When you say that it's improper to have one with the other or vice versa, you're implying that you are better than people of other faiths. The whole idea of this is to come together as one; as Lebanese who believe in God.
