  • Does anyone have this in better quality? I think I saw a version of Brown Eyed Handsome Man that was done entirely on the same show at a different time. I think I saw that on TNN a long time ago.

  • This is when County Music was REAL MUSIC

  • Waylon is a Legend !

  • blue guitar could be Merle Kilgore, the sideburns look like him

  • Mitt Romney will be the NexT PresiDent of the USA>>>>>>>>>

  • Who is the backup singer with the blue guitar?

  • @DonnaWerhan His name is Billy Ray Reynolds, longtime friend of Waylon, and sadly also one of his pallbarers

  • it would be nice to actually meet a gal who was as into Waylon as i am

  • He was starting to loosen up a bit on the style. Love the more rugged side of him. Miss him, great talent. Unmistable voice. The only other voice that is comparable to me and this guy doesn't sing (least I dont' think he does) is Morgan Freeman.

  • brown eyed handsome man...just like my daddy is !! thanks.......great....

  • lovely comment:-)

  • This brings back a lotta great memories from the days when country was country - and was worth listening to. Thanks for posting, Alexbleks!

  • This is the country I was brought up on. From the late-70s onward the whole scene fell to crap.

  • You got that right my friend..........

  • Lookin good in the pimp shirt Waylon. Right on.

  • AMEN!!! waylon jennings forever my dog is named waylon waylon and tommy jennings and jessi colter forever!!!

  • I've seen him do this medley, half time at Celtic park!!!!

  • Yeah! Yeah!

  • Love this song!! Thank you!! R.I.P.Waylon

  • The bass player is pinned against Waylon's amp by his own cable and he can't move around at all.

  • Its one of those coiled types.

  • Look at the very end of the "Only Daddy that'll walk the line" from SonyBMG up here- he is not a too good singer as well ;-)

Waylon survived the end of his career (the death of Buddy Holly) more or less... and that gave us the Waylon we know- may he rest in peace, great man..!

  • This guy isn't the same one, I think he replaced the guy you're referring to.

  • Really?

Well this video here isn't that sharp, so I thought it was him--- it even is the same year.

Don't know, probably you are right!

  • lmao, I never noticed that

  • nothin like listin to the hoss

  • didnt he play bass for buddy holley ?

  • He sure did until Feb.3rd,1959

  • This must have been shortly after Ralph Mooney joined up,

    1970?

  • someone, please post Love of the common People" by Waylon. thanks

  • that is mel gibson on the drums--b4 southpark though----torture me please----- thanks 4 the waylon post---great stuff and keep it comin--- I enjoy the shit out of his music---thank you

  • Cool!

  • I want a brown eyed handsome man. lol

  • WAYLON WAS THE GREATEST OUTLAW EVER!

  • He is just plain COMPLETE! You know he was with Buddy Holly's "Crickets", don't you? So glad he took the bus!

  • I'm sure glad he took the bus too!:)We would have missed out on alot of great music if he had been on that plane. Plus, we wouldn't have Shooter!

  • Waylon was beyond GREAT, He was the GREATEST!! He could take any song and bring it to its knees! Waylon may be gone but he will NEVER be FORGOTEN!

  • What a VOICE! What a PRESENCE!

  • Doesn't look like The Waylors to me lustermatics. Waylon was so great. Such a distinctive voice and sound.

  • Whoa, Waylon could sing the Brady Bunch theme and still be a bad-ass! He was a one of a kind.

As a side-note, who are these guys backing him up? (other than Mooney). It's the same group from the Hee-Haw videos posted on here?

  • I think one of them is Jim Reed from ADAM-12

  • That's Officer Jim Reed on the blue guitar, and Mel Gibson on drums.

Actually I think it's the Waylors from that era.. Billy Ray Reynolds on rhythm, Lee Miller on bass, Richie Albright on drums, and Ralph Mooney on steel. I think that piano player was from the show's staff band.

  • Great vid, what show was this from?

  • This was from a syndicated TV show called 'That Good Ole Nashville Music'. I believe it was shot on the stage of the Ryman during the week, but I could be wrong about that part. It was on during the sixties and seventies.
