If i get accepted, I would love to get into one of those teams where you build a racecar or dune buggy or something. hopefully they accept me. what kind of averages did you guys apply with?

The best suggestion for you would be if your interested then go out and start to get involved. Meet with the current team and let them know your interested. The GPA has ranged over the years across members. Having a stronger GPA is much better and improves your chances. You need to be able to manage your time well to be on this project and you need to be dedicated. Showing interest now is a good start to getting on the team.

So its not like the people who are interested in it join up, its more like tryouts for a team but with your marks. Interesting.

Eventually you have to apply to be on the team when you sign up for Capstone in the 4th year of engineering. If you have been helping out previously then you will have some useful experience which you can use to improve your chances to get on the team. In a sense its like applying for a job. And you have to show why you should be on the team. What have you done that relates to the team (projects etc.), what are your interests and do they relate to the project etc. Experience + GPA + Dedication
