It does affect sound quality. Every audiophile will tell you the same thing. There is a massive difference between 360 and 720 as well as 480 and 720. Yes it equates to image quality, but it does the same for audio. Once the 720p file is uploaded and streamed in anything less, both audio and video quality are degraded/sacrificed for performance.
