10 years after release I'm still playing this game, and it has aged very well. The graphics are very well done for the n64, the music is brilliant. The cinematics(although mostly brief) are very epic feeling.I have the LoD version so some of the stuff from the original is different, I intend on getting the original eventually(again) Great story, great gameplay(with some minor irritations,like running through the clockgears with the explosive nitro). One of the best n64 games in my opinion

there are 3 more endings one where malice wants to marry carrie and i for got the other1 for reinhardt but you can in the villa use 2 suncards then 2 moon cards and the origional for carrie i even know how to get their 2nd costumes i had the hame and beat it on all difficulties easy medium and hard reinhardt get simon belmont costume carrie gets 1980s school girl outfit

What an awesome epic ending! Wonderful rowsing music and a brilliant finale; and finally a hint at a love story for once! and a totally important moral too: "As long as we have hope, evil can never defeat us"! Reinhardt for President! man, i LOVE this game!! CV64 4EVER!

For 1999 graphics like these were considered to be pretty good. This was before HD, and this was the first 3D Castlevania. The game seemed to get removed from the series timeline in 2002, but it was added again last year before Portrait of Ruin came out. Hmm, not sure where it fits in though to be honest (I know they recognize Legacy of Darkness more though, especially since Cornell is a character in Castlevania Judgment).

OMG i remember this game, i got it when i was like 10 and i loved it...everything about it...still to this day. my system broked and i never had a chance to see the ending. The protagonist is the 1st Belmont, Leon, as he fights the vampire Walter Berhard to rescue his wife Sara. In the end, Sara sacrifices herself to create the vampire killer, Leon defeats Walter and Mathias Cronqvist, Leons friend, appears and reveals he had orchestrated everything to obtain Walter's soul and convert it into power for himself using the Crimson Stone. Mathias becomes Dracula

I don't like the 3d Castlevania iterations but this one was the first and in my opinion the best one. It also has some of the best Castlevania music in the series and along with Super Castlevania the best atmosphere.
