As far as I can tell this is the only version of the original Tony Bennett's recording of his signature song on Youtube, and it even has a video with pictures that send me right back to my favorite city on the other side of the globe.

This is not Frank. This is Tony. To my knowledge, Frank never recorded this song. Frank was a great fan of Tony Bennett and always said what a great singer he was and Tony was a huge fan of Frank. Anyone listening to this can tell it's Tony and although I will always be first and foremost a Sinatra fan, Tony Bennett is the only one that can sing song the way it should be sung. He sings it beautifully.

When asked why Tony Bennett enjoys singing this so much, he told a story of a time when soldiers would sit around a fire in Vietnam singing this hoping to return home safely, kind of brings a new depth to the song that no matter how bad things get or how homesick you are, you're able to sample a piece of home through this song. Its nice to know when listening to this that the song has no doubt helped people get through the most extreme situations. Or thats my take on it anyway.
