I knew Sydney were going to play differently with Branko Culina in charge but man...What a difference. I would say that Sydney played their best first half ever. We scored 2 goals early and we didn't hang back and defend. Almost got a 3rd (unlucky brosque). If T.B was still in charge, There was no way Zdrillic and Brosque would have started together and we wouldn't have gotten that result. Well Done Branko. Cmon Sydney.

Urawa have a pretty decent squad and if Sydney can beat them (either in Sydney or Japan) it will be a good result. I'm trying to arrange leave so I can watch Sydney play in Saitama. Some great playing there - both Sydney goals were class and the near misses were pretty good too. Branko has done great work over the last few weeks - I suspect if he keeps the job for next season we will see some return to form :)

And yes, Carney is very under-rated. He did a great job for the Socceroos v Kuwait in Sydney last year as well.
