  • My wife was wearing her fingers raw, and enlisted my assistance. I grabbed a peanut butter jar, and put a jar gripper over it, and used as an insert to separate the cone from the shaft. I don't know why the latch wouldn't release the shaft for her, I asked about that, as it just appears that's how it should be. In her defense though, the paper instructions in the box, are pitifully written.

  • Oh cool, so I don't need to bring it to my bench vice.

  • Thank you so much for this video! We were struggling to detach the shredder from the attachment shaft and this helped us to see how EASY it is to do! Thanks again!

  • awww i wanted to see it shred something

  • I had NO idea that there was that square notch either! My wife and I just got a mixer yesterday and have been going crazy trying to disassemble the cone and it's little shaft. Dang. We even bought those jar grips to get it off.

My manliness was going down rapidly everytime I tried to get it undone. Thank God for youtube and kitchenaidtv, or I might have never got my manliness back. Now I feel like a genius for showing my wife that little square notch!

  • This video was awesome. I didn't know there was a square notch to make the blade assembly much easier. It's the small things that matter. :)
