Yeah man that was an invasive species. You're supposed to euthanize these buggers if you caught him from a Florida canal. But I understand if you don't have the heart to.
@Pararescue001 lmao "this better be a pond" lol you better be a little boy,for a comment like this. listen to MetallicaMan16 and check my vids b4 u make a dumb comment, and you know whats funny to me that i was infront of you,you woldnt talk like that...
Im in the cutler ridge area and i remember 8 years ago i use to fish for jewel cichlid for bait and not to long ago i wanted to do some fresh water fishing and let me tell you they are none left but these midas fish were every wear and i know they have a bigg part to do with it beautiful fish but big time damage on the local fish
oh were suppose to kill them? well thats no problem ill eat the hell out of those things, they look like good eating. do they have scales and where did they originate?
Midas are easy to catch, I've caught some in white, gold, and orange. People love 'em for the tank but here's the truth in Fla. You weren't supposed to release it according to the rules and regs down here. For me, I'd have done the same, their too cool looking to kill.
@masversion1~ Because it's considered an invasive species in the State of Florida. Anglers are required to humanely dispatch all invasive species caught. Some do, some don't . You can check out the laws yourself at FWc.com
You can catch them in the Miami canals. they are easy to spot because of their bright color. they are usually along the edges, where they can hide under the ledge. they are tricky to catch and rarely bite, but you can try your luck.
an introduced species. if you catch and release a carp in the murray river in adelaide u get a fine!

These fishes are from the Nicaraguan Great Lakes, part of their habitat is in Costa Rica in the tributaries.

Good that you left him go and didn't eat it. If it was an aquarium fish it might contain alot of chemicals.
