  • Lovely. I'm sitting up with insomnia, and this has really relaxed me.

  • Amazing.. that is all..

  • The best video on the internet. :D

  • don't know why but this, to me, embodies sadness...

  • I'm feeling like a flying rabbit. So beautiful!

  • So Beautiful. Thank you

  • tranquility pure ... doesn't get any more relaxing than that

thank you for taking me away to this wonderful place of feeling one with oneself ;o)

  • If we had to go and kill our animals for food then 90% of us would be vegetarians. The other 10% would be either sociopathic CEO's of corporations or prisoners.

  • Thank you Sean for taking us to such a glorious place, Peace to you why would anyone want to harm such a wonderful creature

  • Thank you Sean for taking us to such a glorious place, Peace to you

  • And he said "Let there be White...andandand ... Snow!... andandand ...Fur! Yes, let there be White and Snow and Fur andandand,,, let it be Just So. And he saw it was Good...the White, and the Fur, and the Snow. And so it was. Just so.

  • he's just escaped from Efrafa

  • What an amazing piece of calm.

  • i like the part with the rabbit

  • @slowmopoke ROFL!!!!!

  • this track was composed in 1978. Now lissen (1971) King Crimson song of the gulls

  • thanks,lovely

  • Beautiful... Simply beautiful... I'd kill to have the tone and control you possess! If I attempted to play this peice, I'd bet I'd be breathing in the middle of every phrase, hehe... But you're probably YEARS ahead of me, though.. XD

That bunny is just ADORABLE... His cuteness almost distracts you from the peice altogether... Cute little thunderstealer! *ahem* Anyways, well done! You've made my dull day a little more exciting! :)

  • @OreoFlavouredSonata Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • Sean, this is beautifully played. Where can I get the clarinet music from?

  • @delalune08 The music is available directly from Universal Editions.

  • I love, love, love this song. I almost love this almost as much as with cello or violin too.

  • Arvo Pärt was such an artist. Can I suggest everyone watch this movie and listen to the depth of this amazing soundtrack - watch?v=1xkGA8JRKms

Charles Darwin was also a great man... please watch and listen.

  • Over again amazed with the beauty of Spiegel Im Spiegel...

  • Amazing... without words

  • Music and rabbit blend beautifully.

  • Very beautifully played! This is the first time I've heard Spiegel on clarinet - I loved it!

  • @rnbldsrnmsvlbl Thank you!

  • I feel like that bunny right now, all alone and sourrounded by cold. All I can do is take care of myself. The best part is when he tries to sleep in peace, but he knows that he can't, because he doesn't feel safe enough. I knew the melody before I found this beautiful video, it makes me think a lot.

  • Was this music used in a documentary on the holocaust or WW2? Im pretty sure iv heard used it somewhere in such context.

  • @Davetheruinner Haha, yes it was, though I can't remember which one. This piece and "Fur Alina" were used in that documentary.

  • @Davetheruinner It was a BBC Documentary, I think about Birmingham UK during WW2

  • Part is one of my favorite composers. This is a great video! Captures the feel of the music, simple and serene.

  • this is just great to listen and watch

    thank you very much Sean

and you are right, perhaps the most relaxing video on Youtube but I think the experience transcends relaxation

  • @xiayexin "experience transcends relaxation" ...woa, this is deep stuff, I'm impressed :)

  • Amazing music :)

  • Breautiful piece and a great video to match! thanks for sharing! =)

  • zazeify, what an interesting idea! It's a great piece for sure.

  • I wonder if you had ten different people watch this in a room, and then without discussing it, have them write down their thoguhts about it, that it would be a good mirror of how each person felt. Especially since the music is so evocative.

  • @zazeify

I try not to think at all when I listen to this. No more words in my head for once, no more words...

  • I like the tempo you take this

  • This helped me study for econ.

    Very relaxing, calming.

:) Thank-you for putting this up.

  • Altough the violin version of this piece is more dramatic, the clarinet brings an element of warmth that fits really well too.

  • superb. only knew the version for violin, but the clarinet works wonderfully. Thank you

  • Nice work man.

    Yrvo Pärt rulz!

  • LOL @ stressed rabbit. I have rabbits and this one is very comfy..

    Nice piece, thanks!

  • This rabbit is seriously stressed. Its actually borderline OCD. The poor bunny...lol

Beautiful music though, it takes you to a wonderful place in your mind.... and so simple.

  • my cats clean their fur all the time and they are far from stressed out

  • They also clean their fur in order to clean their fur... ?

I'm glad you liked the music though... that's what matters in the end. :)

  • well yes they do clean it but not in the middle of a dangerous snowy landscape only in their den. this rabbit must have lived something deeply shocking not long ago. anyways.

    Arvo Pärt is wonderful.

  • @SeanPerrin That's a very gentlemanly way of responding to someone who's obviously hurting and wants to strike back at the world in some retaliatory way. There are people who don't take kindly to others who seem to be enjoying themselves...

  • beauty is in the eye of the beholder. this is beauty. not for the faint of heart.

  • Aymericism - I'm glad at your concern for the rabbit! But Sean is correct, I keep rabbits and this one is certainly fine, if it's stressed it wouldn't be cleaning itself and nosing around at it's leisure, it would be flattened and looking around itself wide eyed. Just chilling out in it's natural environment

  • Beautiful, This touched my heart. thank you Sean.

  • Lovely.

  • so slintint

  • silent.

  • You are welcome; it is so beautiful.

  • Thank you, Sean, for your beautiful playing and letting us watch the rabbit. I saw Wheeldon's ballet "After the Rain" last night and have been listening to/watching your video all day. Many tears, but tears of joy and gratitude for this creativity.

  • Thank you for your kinds words!

  • "Any "thudding" you hear is ... or is imagined for the sake of your argument"

LOL probably true, but i don't here any particular thudding in that other version.

  • Cute bunny by the way and very nice piece.

  • I hear more thudding in this version than the version recorded in the synogogue.

    I don't think that's bad - they're both fine performances so don't get cocky.

  • This is not true... there is no thudding in this recording as the pedal was left down the entire time. Any "thudding" you hear is either due to the fact that you can hear the piano hammers too well due to mic placement, or is imagined for the sake of your argument.

Either way, it's a great piece, yes... one of my favorites.

  • this is so sensitive and wonderfull, its seems so fragile.... THANK YOU FOR THIS

  • I can't help but come back and listen over and over again. Thank you for posting it.

  • 8:02 ruines it all.

  • Though that sound is unfortunate, It's live performance!

  • Nobody is right, if everybody is wrong.

  • ruines...

  • but Sean, why is it live?

  • What do you mean "why is it live?"... it was a live performance which was recorded, and later put to this video...

  • But WHY, Sean, WHY??

  • Lol... "Why?" is a very profound question. We may never know.

    :)

  • Did you ask the rabbit before filming him?

  • That... was breathtaking... thanks for posting it. 5*s definitely... but if you listen carefully, at around 8:02-8:08... does something fall?

  • Thanks!

With regards to 8:02, That's someone coughing in the audience. It was a live performance.

  • That was unbelievably relaxing. I think the piece works beautifully with clarinet too - really good job!

  • We are using this piece of music in a play about WW1 at the minute..its brilliant...just captures so many different moods

  • This song was actually used in a WW1 movie! 'The Officers Ward', great movie.

  • Was also in 'Wit' with Emma Thompson.Great film too.

  • Thank You For Posting This. Great Work.

  • Every human being should experience this. Thank you for this phenomenaly beautiful work. Best wishes friend!

  • Every human being should experience this, thank you for this phenomenaly beautiful work. Best wishes my friend!

  • I had not heard the clarinet arrangement before, and it is beautiful. You certainly did Arvo's piece justice. The video is very very beautiful, and somehow fitting. Thank you for sharing.

  • both sound and the visuals are immaculate.

    great taste - great work.

    thank you

  • aww cute rabbit ... the tune is seemless!!1

    soo beautifull1!!!

    amydaydream

  • Great rendition. Watched this video at a time when I really needed EXACTLY this. Thank you.

  • You have created simple yet beautiful means to connect us to nature.

    Thank you.

  • hey. i love your version. what a perfect color you evoke. your breath control is great and i love how you shape each note. right on.

  • perfect tune for a rabbit to lick to, well done

  • White light and fluid heavan.

  • I love this music, absolute beauty, and the rabbit is so peaceful, they are lovely animals...where was he filmed? What a relaxing way to spend 8 minutes! Thank you Xx

  • Hi!

I am very happy to listen this piece for clarinet. When I heard it the first time I thought it wasn't possible to play with clarinet, but you did it!

Did you do the arrangement yourself?

It is so simple but so difficult to play!

    By the way, great sound!

    Regards!

  • I was going to arrange it for this recital, but discovered that Pärt himself did the arrangement for clarinet and piano in 2003...

I'm glad that you like it... it's an EXCELLENT piece. One of my all-time favourites.
