  • I have a 03 GT Convertable auto with the old 1.7 Kenne bell supercharger. I installed it with 57,000 miles and today it turned 144,444. I run 9psi and dyno between 432 and 458 depending on temp and all. I have never had a frame problem and there are 4 frame ties welded in from factory. She has a stock bottom end and stock heads and cam the only change I have made was a cobra fuel pump.

  • Was this a cold start up or after warm up start up? That fan kicked on fast

  • Better yet, I got the Kenne Bell cold air kit with the larger throttle body. Feels like it added 25 hp...

  • next get a bbk cold and air intake

  • Well fortunately mine is an auto so that helps out alot when taking off as far as twisting the frame goes, although I would give it up for a manual in a heartbeat! But also being a convertibe, mine has frame ties welded on from the factory, and that helps prevent body twist. With hardtop Mustangs, you will eventually see stress cracks in the roof behind the rear window area. Obviously this wont happen with a convertible. So far so good with mine....

  • hey i got an o1 convertible gt and i was thinking of KBing it at 9 lbs of boost are you having any problems with the frame twisting cause that is a big concern of mine?

  • Link for the Kb you got on it??

  • omg im wet!! hahaha

  • V8 auto... That must suck

  • nice ride how much u spend on the kit

  • fucking love the laser red tint...such a sexy exotic performance color..mines an e9 too

  • @rgv2006tx Thanks man! That is the main reason I bought this car cause of the color!

  • @Copperdog230 yep its very unique..how much did you pay for your kenne bell supercharger? was it an easy install?

  • thinking about doing this how is ur stock internals holdin up with 10lbs of boost?

  • @DSH1ZZN1T Everything fine so far, holdin up great. Actually runnin 11lbs of boost now after I installed the Kenne Bell cold air kit!

  • so are ou usin the supplied Kennebell chip?

  • @BenEnyuh yes, the tuner put his custom program in & then burned it to the Kenne Bell chip.

  • Nope, good for at least 500 RWHP!

  • Did you blow that shit up yet ?

  • Is that a v8 or v6?

  • @Nick4Football Haha. V8

  • can i ask if the squeaky noise is from the pullies or belts, or the supercharger

  • @Oster910 I believe what your hearing is the supercharger itself making that noise. Love the sound of that supercharger when under full boost!

  • Can't go wrong with a Terminator front bumper! Man that thing is so clean. Nice work!

  • damn dude i want ur car thats definitely one of the cleanest gts ive seen on here, how do u like that kb btw?

  • @Sk8FalIen Ya man, I love the car & bought it just a year old from an older couple with just 2,000 miles on it. Kept it up like I bought it new, stored every winter. Only put a few thousand miles a year on it, use synthetic oil & change it every 2,000 miles. Absolutley love the KB, I researched alot on superchargers and for what my car is, this is the best setup. Best time so far at the track was a 12.3 @111.5. As you know how the saying goes, everything is for sale for the right price...

  • Nice superchaged !!! 395 and its basicly stock ...there is more POWER whaiting for The Supercharger to suck on !!!!! so u put KB on it and so got 395 hp ??? guest tuned in lol ..but thats about it !!

  • @ESTH72 Yes, I have to get a tune big time! I realize that is the most important thing now, got any tuner(s) you highly recommend?

  • @Copperdog230 tuner are pre-progamed software aps thats it goes around what

modification ur car have and the part u put in (not that sure about all the statsment in the last coat..so dont bash me )

what i would do since there is too mutch left over to FEED that MONSTER KB....have it tune in a speed shop near U for now and they will be in position

to give u the best advice ,for what is next what order to put parts order since u dont whant to tuned it every time u put somting on...

  • love that sound

  • totally immaculate car

  • @leonardbullhock Thanks! I can appreciate a nice compliment! Trust me, I baby this car big time!

  • I realized that, & thought long about changing it over to a manual but would have been a big hassle. Today (9/26/10), the car ran a consistent 12.3 @ 111 MPH. I was very happy for an auto car to run these kind of times with a stock motor besides the KB 2.1 blower!

  • @Copperdog230 Dude...I have to ask. Where did you get the Cobra front bumper kit? I have been looking everywhere and cannot seem to find anyone who sells it. Could you please tell me. I would surely appreciate it. Thanks bro.

  • @jcrow00 Real easy, just go to ebay and type in "Mustang Cobra front bumper cover" A list of these come up & you can even have it painted, just email your paint code to them. That's how I got mine when I ordered it. I felt that was the single most best upgrade I did to the car. Not trying to fake it out as a Cobra but the Cobra bumper blows away the stock GT bumper!

  • Love the car man. I love the wheels and the front bumper....and obviously the sexy kenne bell lol. Good job man, whats coming next? I know the build never ends haha.

  • Ya, kinda sucked when I had to drop almost 3k to get the tranny redone. Tranny guy said it was all in the program and nothing internal in the trans. KB would not stand up to the base & fix what their mail-order tune did to my trans. I wouldn't worry about your tranny breaking as long as it's not auto like mine, really wish I started out with a 5 speed like yours but mine was too clean to pass up. Lemme know how things go for you & what your numbers are after the dyno...

  • @Copperdog230 With a very conservative 93 Oct. Tune from KB the car put down 395rwhp and 433tq.

  • @Copperdog230 For 3K you could have had a Lentech Street Terminator..

  • lol not what i wanted to hear...hopefully my 5speed holds up better. really dont feel like doing a tranny after i just dumped all that $ on the KB

  • @Chuckieb1238

I have an 04 GT and I just got my KB 2.1 installed a few days ago. I dynoed in at 418 rwhp at 9 psi.

  • Thanks. I didn't actually have it dynoed but my guess would be around 370 to the rear wheels. Right after I installed the KB I took it to the track & my best run of the day was a 12.7 @ 105. Shortly after getting it home the trans blew up. Just had it redone the right way so it will benefit from the blower. I'll post the times as soon as I get back this year. Now feels like it will be in the low 12's!

  • Nice car bro...My 03 GT Vert is @ the shop right now getting my KB 2.1L Intercooled installed w/ the kb Cool Air kit...what kinda #'s did you put down?
