i am a new volunteer with the Dural brigade, bout to start my BF course, was out on saturday chipping a trail, oh my god tht was tough work ive never done anything like it and was so sore after, but i love it.
well done! Be careful though it doesn't turn into a self-adulation festival..... there are unfortunately people in the RFS who seek glory, adulation & hero worship.
@meakesey- You will enjoy it all mate, just remember no matter what your qualifications are, you will always be learning something new. I speak from experience.
wow. amazing picutres.love the song...honestly i havent seen better picutres on any youtube video. nothin but love, from a fireman in israel. keepsafe
Awesome! I'm a CFA volunteer in Victoria. The images are amazing and Great Southern Land was a brilliant choice. Well done. And thanks to the RFS and CFS for their help....
wow thats a powerful image of 2 firefighters with one hose against a massive blaze on a house. Thanks for all the great work you do from a Hawkesbury District cadet
Is it true that RFS volunteers have been responsible for starting most of these fires? I think is upward of 40%. Some very bad apples in the ranks spoil the good work others do. Weed them out if youi know who they are and bring them to justice
thats somthing they like 2 keep quiet.. but the majority are great ppl. great pool of local wisdom to draw from. i dont think they should be getting sent to car fires etc... that shit is so toxic its crazy. SCBA if im anywhere near it
Yeah I agree with that last statement to a degree.
If the brigade isn't CABA, then they should still attend but only to set up a boundary lines and start a defensive fire fighting strategy. Although, they always say if you're in the smoke you're in the wrong place.
@11111FALCON11111 there are a minority, and are becoming fewer, they are normally dobbed in to police, as we dont want them in the RFS..CABA sometime do attend car fires.. but its about postitioning too.. with wind, smoke etc.
hey dude this is a great tribute. Im a member in the Lakes District. You have showed all aspects of what we do. Our local communities have no idea how lucky they are that they have such devoted and caring volunteers. without volunteers, our communities would never be safe. Great video mate, really enjoyed watchin it... keep up the good work!
Thank You, and I enjoyed doing it... and everything you say is soo true. We haven't had much of a fire season last, so plan on doing some more when we do Cheers for now :)
Thank you.. I've collected more photos and a bit of video footage, but still need more. We had a pretty quiet fire season around here, so when I get more pics etcc. I'll do another one.. Yes there isn't many for us - the RFS.. A ton for the americans - all good though... but hardly any ACTUAL tributes to the RFS volunteers - thank you... I enjoy doing them. Cheers xx
Well what can I say, THIS IS EXCELLENT I love it.I have tried to do a slideshow like this but I just havn't got the ability so I just didn't post it. Is that PK at 4:33 in the helicopter. Are they all your images I gather you are a made keen photogropher, and a good one at that. Love your work.
Thanx, glad you liked it - I am planning on another one after this fire season... Most of the shots are taken by friends or myself. If you want to do one - have you got windows movie maker - that's where I do all mine. Stay safe this summer...
We dont realise how much these volunteers protect us from the hazards of the Australian Bushfire. Thankyou for your committed bravery and we all appreciate the tremendous work you do to keep us safe.
thank you from the GraysPoint RFS :) regards...all the crew

No it's no PK. If you look carefully at his epaulettes, they are not those of a Commissioner, the person is an Inspector.
