Fantastico, ero letteralmente terrorizzata e lo guardavo comunque con passione!!A me i film dell'orrore non fanno impressione,ma Belfagor colpì nel segno.
I can't believe it. I'm 51 now, I learned to live with Microsoft Windows, I survived Chernobyl and I got along with quality management but I still shiver watching this movie which gave me more bad dreams during my childhood than the Wembley goal in '66. It's great. Although it's old, black and white and not too sophisticated, it's going to steal my sleep tonight.
my mum used to watch this in Poland in the 60s- under the table! she always tells me how terrified she was of it, and how it's the scariest thing she's seen
This was really hot stuff in France when it first came out. I was about 4 or 5 at the time and it left quite an impression on me along with "Thierry le Fronde" and "Bonne nuit les petits".
According to my dad this series made a wave scares in our Norwegian town in the sixties. "The Phantom was observed [somewhere or other]". It was to my understanding quite menacing to kids.
used to watch Belphegor as a kid and it used to scare me witlless. It still looks creepy now. The mood, lighting, music and overall atmosphere are done expertly and far scarier than a lot of this modern CGI crap.
I have watched "Phantom of the Louvre" in the middle of sixties in Finland. It was a most impressive series and I especially liked its music. Excellent!
I lived in Europe in the '60's when this first aired. I was a child and remember being scared to death of the Belphegor. God, I'm still scared of it even if these scenes look very dated and '60's. Nothing is more scary to me than a Blphegor, and I'm 53!
Cool! I'm happy I'm not alone! Even though I have NEVER forgotten The Belphegor, I have only recently re-discovered these episodes and when I hear "THE music" which indicates that Belphegor is coming....the hair on the back of my neck still stands up! Thanks for your comment! :)

I watched it when I was a child with 5 years, now I'm fifty- and this is better and more suspenseful than all modern scary films

Ha, ha, good to know I am not the only one
who is scared of Belephegor.
Same here, I was a kid ( about your' age ) when
the show first aired. Even though it scared me
shitless, I was fascinated and couldn't stop
watching it. Just saw this clip for the first time
in over 40 years and I am still frightened!
