This was a brillant scene and great ideas. Two men running away from the past for the same reason - and at the same time for two different reasons. But its also about two men having to confront the past and learning to live with it. Some people might just dismiss this movie out of hand, but it brings up some really good emotional conflicts about past and present. I have not seen a movie do this same theme since. Great movie.

I love the set and scene in the childhood film where they are all sitting around the picnic table in the wood. The song, "Coming Back To Me" goes perfectly with it too.
I remember when they were filming this movie all over San Francisco-Bay Area. Actually, got to meet and shake hands with Mr. Hopper when they were shooting the last scene with the two characters together in front of that bookstore. That was GREAT!!
This is such a tender and touching moment in the film. I balled my eyes out at the scene when I first saw the movie... One of those very underrated films of the 90's.
what I really love about this scene is that the chara of Kiefer is suddenly SO vulnerable and completely somebody else. And he's so cute and lovely, you just want to comfort him. Great scene ^^
Does anyone know the song that begins at 3:45 and ends when Comin Back To Me starts at 6:43?
I'd love a copy of the song without the movie dialogue!

I too cry with this... it's more or less how me and the love of my life used to live, and how we raised our first kid, Frodo.
I love this movie! Thanks
