The Floyd have stated that during the 1970's they disliked doing any interviews, and most of the time they'd fuck with the person interviewing them. Especially if stupid questions were asked. They were watching a lot of Monty Python's Flying Circus at the time, so a lot of their jokes albeit "the Oysters are alright this time of year" was just their British "Python" style humour, and they were stoned.

@mrzisme He was describing some mad scientist and then the audio was clipped at that second but the camera kept rolling. That was when Nick did the stare thing, he was just goofin'. He's a lot like Waters in his mannerisms though, they were both into being a bit bizarre in an almost Beatlesesque way of being cheeky brits, I mean they totally had it going! Its kind of the way Syd wanted it to be but his humor got so dry that no one understood it.

I'd assume Dave did the most because he was Syd's age instead of the others and also unlike the others he wasn't an architectural student and was more of a hippy like Syd. But even he hadn't really messed around. The others might have had a small experimental phase after Syd left from what I've seen, but even that was small and contained. And none of them would ever play or do anything professionally on drugs.

What makes you think the only way to come up with these ideas was drugs? It was the effect that Syd had on them. Beginning of Time? Listen to the end of Bike first. I know they experimented a bit after the psychedelic era but one of the reasons Syd left was his separation of ideals from the rest of the floyd (himself being constantly on drugs and them not)
