an Ali highlight film that devotes so much footage to the Wepner fight is wasted tape. Why not show the 3rd Frazier fight...or some of the Foreman fight?
any1 who says ali couldn't take a punch is an idiot and knows nothing about boxing. FACT: DURING ALI-FRASIER 1 ALI HAD HIS JAW BROKEN DURING THE FIGHT AND CONTINUED TO FIGHT! how many ppl can do that?
Well said , and very observant, a Human, one who knew his potenial.
How many Ali's are lock up in prison, and killed over the darkness of the times, how deep to have the writing of his words to the children of our days, Alhumduliah! These are such a treat, Thank to all of you for putting these on video!
tyvtg, todays boxers r bigger coz they r on suppliments and steroids. check any boxer of 60s and 70s, george foreman, ali, fraizer, they were all lean not big.ive seen george forman punching a bag and the guy who was holding it was thrown back 5 ft. dempsy who was arguably the most powerful puncher punched the opponent so hard that his 6 teeth went flying and fractured his cheek bone and eye socket, this is with one punch. todays boxers cheat the system and lack sportsmanship.
Actually ali could take a punch... he destroyed George Foreman who people say was one of he hardest punchers of all time... rumour has it GF punches were so hard he used to split 2-3 punch bags before a fight! AND Ali never got knocked out!
You need to grow-up sf, because America is so guilty of racially attacking Muhammad Ali when he won his gold by refusing him to have a meal in her resturant and then the biggest evil nerve of her in getting him to fight against Vietnam.
And so I suggest you need go and bath yourself, before you talk dirt about Ali.
Ali is without doubt the greatest professional boxer, pound for pound, of all time. His like was not there nor will ever be. He is one of a kind. Allah (God Almighty) blessed him with the best of skills and endurance within and outside the ring. His gift of the gab remains unmatched before and after...his prediction of rounds in which he would beat his opponents was uncanny...expecially against Liston, Foreman and Frazier...what to say of the others! Ali cannot be matched with "Apollo Creed".
Love him or hate him Muhammad Ali is the greatest boxer the world ever saw...not necessarily his skills alone but the entertainment he brought to the sport. I would give anything for a boxer like that today, to return the sport to the glory days...
you cant say that for sure, Ali was brilliant, he trained hard enough to withstand everything Foreman had, he could've thought of something to take tysons power away from him.
Inspiration? Cassius Clay is arrogant, uneducated, selfish, and a low life selfish draft dodger! Inspiration? I suppose you would like your children to grow up to be just like him?
he didn't want to go to war for a country that, at the time, labeled him a "nigger". I think he would accept the draft today, because times are different. he was fearless in the ring and a great human being. the arrogance he showed was part mind game. in boxing you have to have a certain level of confidence, or you'll get your ass handed to you. and yes, I would love for my kids to turn out like him.
nah your saying ali didnt go to war because he hated america your rong ali didnt go 2 war because vietnam didnt do anything to him so y shud he fight them! STOP SPREADING BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!
Look at the social work he took after and before he retired. He love his fellow human and it shows....People show love in him and supported him whole heartedly....that's why you see people in zaire supported him....ali bumaye! i would love to be like Ali he is a great example for youth specially.
Ali was, well, pretty much Ali during that fight. Impressive, yes, and staunch. Ali won the fight that night, as well he earned. But Wepner won hearts, regardless of Ali of course being still the best known and what not. Wepner showed the courage of a true fighter.
So you've got Rocky playing on one TV and the Ali highlights on another and you're recording the mix with a video camera. Interesting approach to editing.

You must be gay if you love Cassius Clay? Stupid too, because Cassius Clay is king of all low IQ losers.
